A little Bird told me…

A little Bird told me…

Hi there Thanks for popping in. It’s no good, I can‘t wait any longer. I shall have to show you what we have come up with for Sunday‘s TV Show on the new Create & Craft. It’s such a simple idea actually, but it has been months in the planning and making. It all starts with an idea. Clarity Cut-Card Kits… Then the perfect bird shape. Then Dave and his Heidelberg press get to work. Then we design stamps to…

Something new for the SHAC…

Something new for the SHAC…

Hi there Thanks for popping in. We love new things in the SHAC. New things to doodle, new things to colour in. Every year we introduce a new colouring subject. To start with we went with our Feathered friends, original art by our friend Mel Turner. We still have lots of these to go to – they aren’t done yet! Last year we introduced out Poppets by marina Fedotova. So pretty! For this year we have got some superb original…

Houses, houses, houses.

Houses, houses, houses.

Hi there Thanks for popping in. If I had to pick my favourite Freshcut die, I think it would be this one. There are some superb designs in our library now – check it out HERE – but I have to say, this one is it. Drawn by Mel Turner, we have got the same design in stamps, stencil and Groovi! We were quite late to the Die party, but when we arrived a couple of years ago, with our…

Shining a light on the Background.

Shining a light on the Background.

Hi there Thanks for popping in. We got some new Ranger Distress Oxide Ink and regular Distress Ink colours delivered last week: so I decided to take a look at one of them. Just one. Which one would YOU have gone for? I thought I’d compare the same colour in the two different inks, becasue they certainly differ in their application and even colour tone. The Distress Oxides are very chalky and opaque, whereas the regular Distress ink are more…

Finishing Touches…

Finishing Touches…

Hi there Thanks for popping in. Hope you made it to the SHAC this morning. We were putting the finishing touches to our Lettering doodle. We were looking at how to finish your work with gold leaf. FInishing is such a key part of the process, isn’t it. As I said, it can be the difference between homemade and hand made. WHich may or may not phase you personally. But the perfectionist in me cannot rest easy until the finishing…

O! What a Beautiful Morning!

O! What a Beautiful Morning!

Hi there Thanks for popping in. The sun is shining here. Always improves the mood, don’t you find? I was humming “Oh what a beautiful morning“ from Oklahoma to myself earlier ( I only actually know the chorus!), and just by total chance, I found this artwork. OH!! I said, Quelle coincidence! Here we see Ragnar and Erik when they first came to us. I used our Letterbox stampset to spell out their names – probably THE most essential stampset…

Get your gladrags on – we’ve got company!

Get your gladrags on – we’ve got company!

Hi there Thanks for popping in. We’ve got company this afternoon. Having a little Christmas catch-up with family who unfortunately had to cancel Christmas because of COVID. So we’ve been blitzing the house, making it nice. That’s the thing, isn’t it. We’re so used to rarely welcoming visitors nowadays, seldom even leaving the house, that it’s very easy to let the housework slide, let the ironing pile up, forget to put some lippy on or dress nicely. I saw an…

When is a wreath also a tree?

When is a wreath also a tree?

Hi there Thanks for popping in! What a day this has been! Busy busy busy! And thank you also if you joined in the first SHAC of the year this morning at 10. I think those little doodle tiles will be fabulous when they’re done… I touched on the new stamps which we are showcasing on the TV on Sunday – the Seasonal Wreath stamps. They are rather special. You may recognise the flavour from the SHAC SHAC… The first…

Lost your Mojo ? Another way back…

Hi there Thanks for popping in. It’s Tuesday and it’s Day 3 in this  #LOSTYOURMOJO Blog series. Why am I sitting with this subject for days at a time? Because your hobby is your sane lane! You get with your hands, you get out of your head – it’s that simple. We crafters are so very lucky to have found something ANYTHING we want to learn about and make! It is the thing that keeps us company, keeps us occupied,…
