In the run up to GRAY FRIDAY, we’ve been shining a light on various aisles at Clarity Towers, and this weekend we’re taking a look down Aisle 3 – The Mixed Media section. This is where we store paints, pastes, inks, brushes, canvas boards – and all those wonderful craft products which…

Make Art Not War – A step by step project.

Hi there Thanks for popping in. First of all, apologies. Technology wasn’t kind to us last night. The Craftalong with Linda and Paul had to be abandoned. Thank you to both for valiantly trying to persevere though! To be repeated very soon. Details to follow x Ah well. These things are small things in the bigger picture. AND. More of you will have the plates by the time we go again! We are going as fast as we can, and…

Harmony? When?

Harmony? When?

Hi there Thanks for popping in. Beautiful sunny Sunday here in the Southeast. Pottery this morning, and back in the Clarity saddle this afternoon. Did you get a chance to watch our Clarity Mixed Media Friday TV show on the new Create & Craft? I was showcasing our lovely Blockprint stamps. I really like them. There’s something very arty, edgy and earthy about them. I think also that they can be whatever the occasion begs: vibrant and bright, soft and…

Shining a light on the Background.

Shining a light on the Background.

Hi there Thanks for popping in. We got some new Ranger Distress Oxide Ink and regular Distress Ink colours delivered last week: so I decided to take a look at one of them. Just one. Which one would YOU have gone for? I thought I’d compare the same colour in the two different inks, becasue they certainly differ in their application and even colour tone. The Distress Oxides are very chalky and opaque, whereas the regular Distress ink are more…

Finishing Touches…

Finishing Touches…

Hi there Thanks for popping in. Hope you made it to the SHAC this morning. We were putting the finishing touches to our Lettering doodle. We were looking at how to finish your work with gold leaf. FInishing is such a key part of the process, isn’t it. As I said, it can be the difference between homemade and hand made. WHich may or may not phase you personally. But the perfectionist in me cannot rest easy until the finishing…

A City Skyline using masks…

Hi there Thanks for popping in. Part two of our city tour, and I thought we’d have a look at creating a really atmospheric skyline using the Cityscape masks that we also make. It’s an interesting demo, and very easy to do. In fact at the bottom of this blog, I’ll load all the various landscape and cityscape masks, which you could apply the same technique to. A very typical Clarity Style…   RRP £29.97 – Special Price £14.98 (plus…

Oh what brilliant stencils!!

Oh what brilliant stencils!!

Hi there! Thanks for popping in. A set of stencils caught my eye at work this morning. They are frameless. Brilliant for pottery AND Mixed Media! So I decided to have a play with them when I got home this evening. Upstairs for a change, in the arty painty inky part of my little Art studio!! You know. Get away from the news, the TV. Do something creative. MAKE something. ESCAPE. They are those new stencils we recently launched in…
