The SHAC was good today!

Hi there Thanks for popping in. DOn’t know whether you joined us in the SHAC this morning on Facebook LIVE. I really enjoyed it! It was fun. And Fun is needed – it really is. Just and hour, a breather. Here’s what we did! And here’s what we used to inject colour! If you fancy catching up, watching how we achieved this lovely effect using cotton buds – here’s the Youtube recording. Sometimes the simplest things give us the best…

Spinning Plates….

Spinning Plates….

Hi there Thanks for popping in. Spinning plates. You know the trick. Plates on sticks. Who’s familiar with this game? It’s a never-ending trick. You can’t stop spinning the plates; you have to keep going. And then – out of nowhere – another plate appears, and you have to spin that one too. Or should I say, you THINK you should spin that one too. There IS a maximum. There has to be. You can’t keep piling on the plates…

This too shall pass…

This too shall pass…

Hi there Thanks for popping in. There’s a particular quote that I use. A lot. This too shall pass Solomon It’s true – in good times and in bad. So when you find yourself in a crisis, in a drama, in a grim situation, it helps to remember that This too shall pass. Conversely, when Life is a chair of bowlies (err .. I mean a bowl of cherries), and everything’s going your way, you should always know that –…

Yin Yang.

Yin Yang.

Hi there Thanks for popping in. So much going on this week, the head is in a proper spin. But on a positive note, I’ve finished all the prep for the TV shows on Friday! The storms kept me in!! Just the notes to write up, and that lot’s boxed and banked! Always feels better when it’s done and dusted. Can you see the Yin Yang in the picture? Yin Yang. What is it? We are familiar with the symbol,…

Room for one more…

Room for one more…

Hi there Thanks for popping in. Picture the scene: you have been stood standing in the pouring rain at a busstop for about half an hour. Finally the bus rolls up and the people in front of you in the queue pile on. You’re the next one to get on, but the bus is packed full, and the conductor puts his hand out to stop you boarding. YMBFJ, you think. When suddenly he drops his hand and says “There’s room…

Something new for the SHAC…

Something new for the SHAC…

Hi there Thanks for popping in. We love new things in the SHAC. New things to doodle, new things to colour in. Every year we introduce a new colouring subject. To start with we went with our Feathered friends, original art by our friend Mel Turner. We still have lots of these to go to – they aren’t done yet! Last year we introduced out Poppets by marina Fedotova. So pretty! For this year we have got some superb original…

Houses, houses, houses.

Houses, houses, houses.

Hi there Thanks for popping in. If I had to pick my favourite Freshcut die, I think it would be this one. There are some superb designs in our library now – check it out HERE – but I have to say, this one is it. Drawn by Mel Turner, we have got the same design in stamps, stencil and Groovi! We were quite late to the Die party, but when we arrived a couple of years ago, with our…

Shining a light on the Background.

Shining a light on the Background.

Hi there Thanks for popping in. We got some new Ranger Distress Oxide Ink and regular Distress Ink colours delivered last week: so I decided to take a look at one of them. Just one. Which one would YOU have gone for? I thought I’d compare the same colour in the two different inks, becasue they certainly differ in their application and even colour tone. The Distress Oxides are very chalky and opaque, whereas the regular Distress ink are more…
