Meet the Team….

Meet the Team….

Hi there, Thanks for popping in. All the excitement of the past few days caught up with me today. Had a spot of G.E.S. all day. Let’s see if you can work that one out !! Tell you what – if anybody guesses this acronym, I’ll send them a £20 Clarity Gift Voucher. If, like the last time I played this game, when pretty much EVERYBODY guess H.E.F.T., then I will put all the winning names in a hat and…

Time for bed, said Zebedee

Time for bed, said Zebedee

Hi there, Thanks for dropping in. Just got back from Ditton, after another super duper day. Honestly, it was just brilliant. The vibe, the atmosphere, the whole thing was just brilliant. If you don’t mind I will keep it short and sweet this evening, because I just need my bed. But before I climb the stairs to winken blinken and nod, I want to say a special thank you to all those who came and helped make the 2 days…

Day 1. I love my job

Day 1. I love my job

Hi there! Thanks for popping in. Just sitting in the hall with Dave and Paul, chatting to you on my phone. What can I tell you? We had the best day! On the way here early this morning, I actually was feeling sick. Just so anxious about whether there would be enough loo roll, whether the car park would be big enough, whether the hall would be light enough, airy enough etc etc etc. But it ran like clockwork ….

#Walkerscrisps

#Walkerscrisps

Hi there, Stop the clock! Just got in from having supper with the crew. Hall’s all set ready for Ditton Open Day No. 1. I just have to figure out what I am doing tomorrow! My morning was interesting. Whilst the men – hunter gatherers – loaded the van, it was my job to go foraging for food – #CashnCarry. So I wrote a list of what we will need in order to make about 600 rounds of sandwiches and…

A Peacock Floral Urn

A Peacock Floral Urn

Hi there. Thanks for popping in! Dashing out the door to pottery. There’s sooooo much work on the table here, and those two pesky gits Wurka and Hollick have been badgering me all morning to just capitulate and knuckle down. But. It has to be done. Can’t miss it. At so many different levels, I have to go to class! Apart from anything, I threw a load of little pots at the Throwdown on Saturday morning, and HAVE to turn…

YouTube Tuesday – Gelli Art

YouTube Tuesday – Gelli Art

Hi there, Thanks for popping in. We are still at work, getting ready for the Open Days, so I am going to hand over to Sam Crowe today. She has done a superb little video for us, using the Gelpress. I watched with great interest as she plucked colour from the Gelpress plate, a little at a time, a layer at a time, and built her printed cards. Very arty, very creative – and actually, very easy, once you know…

Products of the Month 2/4 – Poppy Fields Groovi

Products of the Month 2/4 – Poppy Fields Groovi

Hi there. Thanks for popping in. On Mondays I show off one of the products of the month, …so today let’s look at the GROOVI POPPYFIELDS. Very apt after last week’s 6th June D-Day Memorial. Lest we forget, eh? I designed this one. Whenever you see a large moon and a couple of fields, you can assume it’s one of mine! A wonderfully evocative Art Nouveau design, perfect for a card of remembrance, or a seasonal parchment project you might seek to create….

The V&A in a day? Not a chance!

The V&A in a day? Not a chance!

Hi there. Thanks for dropping by. Just got in from London, after a fabby day with my friend Anita at the V&A. We visited both the Mary Quant AND the Christian Dior exhibitions. BOTH brilliant. Very different fashion houses, but BOTH inspirational. I wanted to be a fashion designer when I was younger ! Do you think I still have time to squeeze that career in? Worth a crack, hey ?!? Mary Quant. What a Chelsea babe ! She certainly…

God help us.

God help us.

Hi there. Thanks for popping in. Dave showed me an article today, about a trophy hunter who was proud to show off the rare black giraffe that she had shot and killed. I won’t post photos on this blog; it is too distressing. But I have made a little piece of artwork, in memory of the beautiful animal she slaughtered, and as a protest. People. They never cease to baffle me. Love & Hugs, Barb xx

Mr & Mrs Woody Woodpecker are in residence!

Mr & Mrs Woody Woodpecker are in residence!

Hi there. Thanks for popping in. Friday’s blog a private peek, right? Well, a pair of great spotted woodpeckers have moved into our garden – and they are magnificent! There’s something very magical about catching a pair of woodpeckers working away at an old oak together. They’ve been in residence for a while now; Dave caught them on camera today. They are so flighty and fast! Mind you, most birds are! I just called my friend Tom from Clarity and…
