A quick step by step…
Hi there
Thanks for popping in. I’ve prepped this ‘ere blog before I set off, because I’m usually hopping about all day at C&C, and don’t have much time to create a post! I’m not sure I will have time to do this demo, so I’m offering it up as a little photo tutorial for you to try.
- We need a colourful background, The Designer Topper Northern Lights Pack is ideal.
- Dust with talc
- Ink up one of the lovely new Backdrop tree stamps with an embossing pad. I’m not even sure what we’ve called them!
- Plant the transparent ink.
- Cover with super fine transparent embossing powder.
- Pour back into pot, gently tap to remove stray speckles, heat from behind for a smoother finish.
- Use a stencil brush to brush Black Soot Distress Ink over the clear glossy area. Any water soluble black in will work. NB. Not Archival.
- Use a Spot on Sponge to intensify the black. Allow one layer to dry before you add a layer.
- Allow the black ink to dry
- Use a tissue to wipe the black ink off the glossy enamelled area.
- Use a water damp blending pen to lift the black in the tight spots.
- Trim the card.
- Add a sticker sentiment to one of the scrap pieces you trimmed off, and attach.
- Edge the card with a black Sharpie pen
- Mount on a 6” x 6” white card blank.
All done. I hope you enjoyed that. It’s interesting to see the background come to life, and these negative stamps are brilliant for it.
Have a great weekend
Love always,
Barb x x x

Love these stamps. One for the wish list. Have a restful weekend. Xx
Oh wow, show stopper shows and two of my favourite presenters. loved all the tips and tricks, and your nails were pretty in pink.
Have a lovely weekend Barb 😘
Having just caught up with the last show I wish I had added these stamps to my basket when I ordered the layout set earlier today but will add them to my wish list for a future order. Love the effect you got by removing ink with the Groovi tool from the stamp before printing on the card. I also like the scene building you did using the plate to get 2 cards x
Great shows. Order is done. Hubby loved your waistcoat in the first show (he has several !!!!! ). I was convinced there would be a fifth layout set but I have obviously confused myself. Never mind, it’s not as if I haven’t got plenty to play with as I have just finished putting my members sale order away.
Stay safe.
We are looking into a Christmas set , but it’s ways away xx
Brilliant shows, added these stamps to my order. Thanks for the step by step demo, will trying this out when my order arrives, xx
So gutted I’ve missed these shows, just hoping they will still be available on catch up when I get back xxx
Watched both of the shows and got lots of inspiration. Can Clarity ‘manufacture time’ as I seem to be lacking that !!! Think we all are though.
Take care.
Hi Barb, thanks for the step by step, The stamps are lovely, can’t wait for my order to arrive. The shows were fantastic, loved all the samples. Enjoy the sunshine everyone. Bx
that’s fantastic! going to have a try with some of my other stamps while I wait for my order…!!
Great shows yesterday!
Family with me until Monday so will catch-up with the shows I’ve recorded this week.
Thank you for this lovely step by step.
Hope the diet is still on track after such a busy time and trust you are able to relax over the weekend with the family.
Take care x.
Great new designs! Right up my street. Will watch the shows when I get back home in a week or so x
