There but for the Grace…

There but for the Grace…

Hi there Thanks for popping in. It’s 5am. I cannot sleep because the drain in my back is extremely uncomfortable. But the lovely nurse Sangita (Beautiful eyes!) has just hooked me up to some pain meds, so that will calm down soon. I was lying here in the dark (single room ward) and I could hear a lady further up the corridor crying and groaning and wailing . Poor soul. It’s the waking hours, when the morphine/pain relief has stopped…

Keeping these quotes going…

Keeping these quotes going…

Hello hello. Grace here. I spent the day with Mum again, taking shifts with Dave. Mark and Alex have returned to SF today, but it’s been lovely to all be together, especially under the circumstances.Mum says she feels like a pin cushion. The cannula has been in and out of about every area of her arms and hands, and it’s now in her left hand (she’s a leftie!) so I’m writing the blog for her again today. We’ll keep it…

A message from Grace x

Hello hello! Grace here. Thought I’d pop in and write a blog for Mum today. Just got home from the hospital. She’s doing ok, we’re living in the solution and doing our utmost to stay positive. Unfortunately she has a very bad case of pneumonia and pleurisy in her right lung, and although we’re seeing improvements, she’s in for a rough go of it and will take a while to recover. But I think we’re all in agreement, friends, that…

Living in the Solution

Living in the Solution

Hi there Thanks for popping in. Today is a better day. The meds are kicking in, the nurses are wonderful, the chap in the bed opposite is so much like my brother, it’s uncanny, so there has been a lot of laughter, but some very deep conversations too. I was gutted when the Doctor said they’re moving me to the respiratory wing today. Single rooms and very specific, but I’ve lost my new best mate!! We’ve already swapped phone numbers…
