Day out in Leeds. Leeds Castle that is!

Day out in Leeds. Leeds Castle that is!

Hi there. Thanks for popping in. Bit murky darn sarf today, I can tell you! And now it appears that Storm Barbara is heading our way. Dave reckons that’s quite worrying…. Nonetheless, the 3 musketeers stepped out into the elements,  in search of – wait for it – A  C A S T L E . And did we find one? We must have driven past 4 on the way to the jewel of Kent that is Leeds Castle.  Last…

Hi there! Thanks for popping in.  Morning at work. Happy to report that ALL the Gray Sale orders – every single one – has left the building. That is amazing. What a supreme effort. Over 3,500 orders – and many were H U G E. Lewes in the afternoon, with Grace and her beau, Nick. Here we see Harveys of Lewes in the background,  the oldest independent brewery in Sussex. 8th generation family business. Dates back to 1790. Here’s another beautiful…

Maya the Lab.

Maya the Lab.

Hi there! Thanks for popping in. Rounded up both kids at Gatwick. Fog caused some delays, but it was fine. Took a photo of the parking bay where I’d left the car,  but still managed to confuse blue car park with red car park. Along with a whole herd of others, I might add! Lots of laughter in and out of the lifts. Now there’s a leg of lamb roasting nicely, Grace and her lovely lad Nick are napping in…

Pat rescued me!

Pat rescued me!

Hi there. Thanks for popping in. Well, I have blitzed the house from top to bottom in anticipation of the kids’ arrival tomorrow. It always gets worse before it gets better though, eh! The tree is a real beaut –  especially now it is lit and dressed. I did have to go and buy SOFT WHITE LIGHTS though. Last year, Dave got some which you would be more likely to see around a pothole in the road than on a…

Once upon a time there was a Duke and his Duchess….

Hi there, Thanks for popping in. Friday’s blog a private peek, right? Well, let me tell you a story. Once upon a time we had two beautiful black labs, called Dutchie and Duke. They were the most beautiful dogs, and they loved each other very much. In fact, when they were young lovers,  they had a litter of 8 beautiful puppies too. 5 black labs and 3 yellow! You can imagine our surprise when the little blondies slipped out! Dutchie…

Brayer, stamps, shiney card = Barbara

Brayer, stamps, shiney card = Barbara

How about a trad stamping scene  using Jayne’s wonderful Winter Scene stamps? Let’s use the coated Claritycard, A5. Run lowtack tape around the edges for a frame  and add a large moon mask. Load your brayer with Blue Chase Artistry ink  and roll the sky into place.  Add some more Blue Chase Artistry ink to your blending mat and ink up the stamp directly from the mat. This will give you a more subtle image. Good idea,  especially when working…

And deep deep in the forest…..

And deep deep in the forest…..

Hi there. Thanks for popping in today. It’s been a cold, wet day here. Attended the funeral of a dear friend’s Mum. It was actually – dare I say it – a lovely funeral, followed by an excellent afternoon. Ran out of hours in the day for getting arty today, but then I remembered a superb piece of artwork which another Barbara –  Barbara Lancaster – created for the TV show. It didn’t get shown on telly because the camera…
