Post Card from New Mexico

Post Card from New Mexico

Hi there! Greetings from America! The weather’s here, wish you were lovely! Only kidding…. Remember the postcards quips when you were a kid? I’m a monkey for buying postcards, even writing them,  then forgetting to post them! Mostly end up handing them to the recipient when I get back! One of you called this blog a postcard blog yesterday,  which I thought was very cool. Found a corker today at White Sands. Here’s the road runner, strutting his stuff across…

It got quite steamy in the hot house…

Howdi! Thanks for popping in. What a jam packed day we have had today! This is a wall hanging in the zoo we visited which  I fell in love with : We started out with a long walk around the Living Desert Zoo. First thing I saw was a great quote on the wall: In every walk with nature, one receives far more than he seeks, – John Muir We strolled around the park in the hot desert sunshine. Saw so much,…

BRUSH IT OFF

BRUSH IT OFF

Hi there! Thanks for popping in  and joining us on our New Mexico adventures. Glorious weather, blue skies. We set off this morning on a little road trip.  This time we headed south. Destination Carlsbad Caverns. Past the salt flats, through Vaughn.  I remembered that there’s a great diner there, so we had a pit stop. Spotted something on the menu which tickled me… Ham and Eggs:  A day’s work for a chicken;  a lifetime commitment for a pig. It’s…

When is a cactus not a cactus?

When is a cactus not a cactus?

Howdi. Greetings from New Mexico. Went walking with my brother up in the hills  around the pueblo ruins again today. Beautiful sunshine, deafening silence, only crickets chirping and not a soul to be seen –  except for the dude who decided to do the strimming – or weed whacking as they say round these parts. Easter Sunday of all days. So Steve and I headed up the trail, away from the racket. And it occurred to me that I would…

Easter Rose with a Huge Smile.

Easter Rose with a Huge Smile.

Hi there. Thanks for popping in. It’s 7am on Easter Sunday here in New Mexico. What time is it where you are? The sun is just rising over the mountains,  and the sky is beautiful blue. The very talented Jerri Jimenez from Florida kindly  made us this wonderful artwork to celebrate Easter.  She used another very talented lady’s flower designs:  Jayne Nestorenko. Thank you Jerri. And thank you Jayne too. We have captured Jayne’s floral designs  in both stamps  and Groovi for parchment….

Launching our BRAND NEW A4 Super Fine Groovi Grids

Launching our BRAND NEW A4 Super Fine Groovi Grids

Hi there, Thanks for popping in. I know we’re supposed to be on holiday, and we are! But today it’s back to crafting… I have something very beautiful and very exciting to show you. (If you actually hold one, and you consider the feat of engineering, you will understand why I call them beautiful). I wanted to tell you about the new Super-fine grids. This blog is for all those parchers out there who have been asking for the A4…

The Tale of Miss Flip Flops and Stevy Crockett.

The Tale of Miss Flip Flops and Stevy Crockett.

Howdi! Thanks for joining us on our adventures here in the Southwest, the very heart of New Mexico. Somewhere between the Cibola National Forest and the Salt Lakes. Sounds idyllic? It is. The weather today is wonderful. Not a cloud in the sky, just the breeze in the trees… Mind you, it’s pretty wild terrain out here, you know; wolves, bears and mountain lions are quite at home, eagles and vultures soar above – and you will even see the occasional road runner literally…

A Blinding Day!

A Blinding Day!

Howdi! Greetings from the Deep South… Day one of our holiday, and we decided to make a list of all the things we want to do and all the places we want to go while here. Up here in the Rockies you get a lot of wind and red dust. It gets in everywhere, and you can feel it in your eyes and nose that the house needs a good hoover (once the Dyson never-requires-changing-Hepa-filter dries out and I can put it…

MAKE ART NOT WAR

MAKE ART NOT WAR

Howdi!Greetings from the deep south,  New Mexico – the Land of Enchantment. Wednesdays we blog from the heart, right?  We look at life and why we craft, rather than what we craft, right? Let me paint the picture for you here. I am sitting in the kitchen at 5 in the morning,  (because it’s already nearly lunchtime in my jetlagged head). Steve is still sleeping, so I shall let him. When I woke up, or should I say work up,…

24 hours on the road

24 hours on the road

Howdi! Well that was a trip and a half! Just got to our final destination and it’s 3.30 in the morning in the UK, but about 8.30 pm here. Must be mad. We nearly missed the connecting flight in Dallas Fort Worth. They were literally closing the doors when we got to the gate. That was entirely down to the shambolic US Entry system in place when we got off the plane from London. We actually had ample time between…
