If Toucan, you can!!

If Toucan, you can!!

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by. Saturday’s Blog a New Technique, right. Well here a mix of old and new. Like any Blog project, the secret is to pick what you like, and leave the rest behind.  There’s something in everything for everyone – even if it’s to establish that it’s not your cuppa! If you watched You Tube Tuesday last week, with the shaving foam, you will have seen me smear the remnants of some shaving foam left on…

Poinsettias and patience

Poinsettias and patience

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by. Friday’s blog a private peek, so today I thought I’d show you something pretty impressive… Remember ages ago – must have been just after Christmas –  we had the discussion about our poinsettias.  which had mostly shed their leaves, leaving rather barren looking sticks. Look familiar? Well, the question was whether we binned it, or put up with its sad-looking state, to see if it might turn the corner if we gave it light…

Lacy Swallows on a Gelli Print

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by on this  Thursday’s blog is always blue blog day! I decided to use the lovely Lacy Swallows again.  Apparently though, do NOT look up Lacey Swallows on Google! You may get some pretty birds, but I doubt they’ll be much good for stamping…. So without burying myself even further here,  let’s crack on, shall we? So as I was saying, Large Lacy Swallow Small Lacy Swallow Here’s a blue background I made a while…

The mini round ink blenders have landed!

The mini round ink blenders have landed!

Hello there! Thanks for stopping by. Wednesday’s blog is something new, so aren’t we happy that the new mini round ink blenders  from Ranger arrived yesterday! together with their refills: I had a play straightaway, to see if they are as good as everybody says they are.. Verdict? Excellent. Much easier to use than the larger square version for going round the edges. So here’s a little project I rustled up, using the little sponge disks to great effect in…

Little windows…

Little windows…

Good morning Sunday! Glorious sunshine outside my window here;  the trees are just starting to change colour. Thought I’d use a stencil and make another little window…. Decided to use some water-colour paper. This makes the end result really soft when you work with dye-based inks.  And the Abstract Stencil; loads of windows! So I have cut the water-colour paper to 7″x7″ to fit the stencil,  and taped it to a piece of copy paper. I know, Christmas seems miles…

Sleepy Hollow…

Sleepy Hollow…

Hello there. Thanks for stopping by. Thursday’s blog is something blue. So here’s a Gelli Plate background,  using the Snowflake stencils and some acrylic paint. A year ago, if anybody had said this was worth hanging on to and not for the bin, I would have begged to differ! In the meantime, either my eyesight is on the blink, or I have grasped that white areas and tatty bits are brilliant. Well, on gelli plate art at least.  I’m developing…
