Very puzzling….

Very puzzling….

Hi there Thanks for popping in. I’ve been working on not working for a week. You know, trying to keep those two pesky gits Wurka and Hollick off my back. No sooner did I start feeling a bit better, than they were banging on the door again, yelling in my head to get my rear in gear! But no no no. That’s not how we are going to do this. Quote of the day today? If you always do what…

But that’s for ‘Best’!

Hi there Thanks for popping in. Ready for a little trip down Memory Lane? Ready for a little banter, a ramble? Just got back from spending a lovely day with Mum. She’s doing great, and it’s good to spend time together, talking and reminiscing about Dad and the good old days, the GOOD times. How different things were back when we were kids though! Just the fact that we went OUT for lunch together today.. We never ever went out…

Acceptance is the key

Hi there Thanks for popping in. Went to see the consultant today. All in all, a positive outcome. Blood infection well down, having been through the roof, oxygen levels healthy. It was the X-ray which took me aback. I was quite surprised to see how not symmetrical the lungs were. The consultant explained that the diaphragm had moved up and taken the liver with it, to fill the gap the infection had created. He then went on to expain that…

Glorious Tits !!

Glorious Tits !!

Hi there Thanks for popping in. Hahaha. Talk about click bait! Sorry. But you can bet your bottom dollar more folks will click on Glorious Tits than they will Glorious Garden Birds!! All those disappointeds….ahhhhh…. Just came back from the most glorious sunset up on the forest. It’s a good walk. Flat, not hilly, and just the right distance with a bench or two. I certainly know I’ve done it, but not in a bad way x You know Spring…

It’s a cat’s life!

It’s a cat’s life!

Hi there Thanks for popping in. I watched Ragnar today, one of our little Viking boys, sleeping soundly in the kitchen. Did he care that it was 11 in the morning? Nope, did he heck! They sleep when they want, they sleep where they want. They eat when they want too. They sit by the kitchen door when they want to go out, they pose at the kitchen window when they want to come back in. Sometimes Erik and Ragnar…

Spring-cleaning is good for you!

Spring-cleaning is good for you!

Hi there Thanks for popping in. It’s Monday again. Strange, since every day seems like a Saturday nowadays! Pottering around the house, doing a bit of Spring cleaning, and finding all sorts of little arty samples and things I am loath to part with… First up, the lino prints I created a while ago, and we made into stamps. Makes me think I’d like to pursue that artform again. I had actually booked a 2-evening course for Dave and myself…

Shaggy Dog Story Alert…

Shaggy Dog Story Alert…

Hi there Thanks for popping in. It’s quite hard for a workaholic, who is completely addicted to her work, to sit and do not very much. Progress is lamentably slow healthwise, and I really do have to be a patient patient – which does NOT come naturally. However, a voice in my head stops me in my tracks with “You’re lucky to be alive Barbara – behave”. And so I do. What a turn of events, eh. But this too…

Time for something new

Time for something new

Hi there Thanks for popping in. Good day, good day. Went for breakfast to Mum’s, which was lovely. She is doing well. Then came home to watch Rugby. This pottering and spring cleaning is bringing loads of stuff to the surface! I found a neat piece of artwork sandwiched between 2 paintings, which I haven’t thought about for years. Remember making it in our second home in New Mexico though, when we had been over to Anaheim LA to launch…

Throw NOTHING away!!

Throw NOTHING away!!

Hi there Thanks for popping in. Had to laugh yesterday, when we were rifling through the mountain of paperwork. I wandered off piste whilst looking for that oh-so-important document (which I incidentally never found), and came across a folder in Dave’s music room (where else??) which contained stamping projects from a retreat we did in Forest Row over 20 years ago, at the Brambletye!! Now why would you hang on to that stuff?!?! It was fun actually, taking a snapshot…

Slow Down – You move too fast..

Hi there Thanks for popping in. It’s been another paperwork day. There’s so much to do when your Dad dies. And our Dad had so many irons in the fire! It’s like a jigsaw puzzle crossed with a minefield actually. The blimming insurance companies / pension companies change their names or sell out to other companies quite often over 40 years – and we have to figure out which policies are which. Fortunately, our lovely Pete at work is helping…
