Tree Box and Memories.

Tree Box and Memories.

Hello there!
Thanks for stopping by.
What a blimming run around!
That’ll teach me for having a weekend sale!
Didn’t see that coming, I can tell you!
Plenty of jumping around today at Clarity Towers!
So here’s a late after supper blog…
Actually, I really like being able to unwind alone,
with a little blog task.
Monday’s blog is flowers and trees, right?
Here goes then!
Dig out a Gelli Plate inky background from my stash.
Next, stamp the beautiful row of trees claritystamp,
(Do you know they’re only £16 for the set until midnight ?! Barrrrgin on aisle 3!
And you get another 10% off if you’re in the club!
Well, not literally…)
Anyway!
Decide where the trees are going,
mount them on a Clarity handle,
stamp them into place with a black Archival pad.
Add memories from Word Chain No. 4 along the base.
and build a box around with a black Sharpie pen and a ruler.

Like so:
Colour in the trees with Ranger Distress markers.
Also on aisle 3 till Midnight… (£20+ off!)
Shabby Shutters

Crushed Olive
Mustard Seed.
Bring the yellow down the stem and colour in the box, too.

What I like is that the mottled background inks
show through the penwork.

Trim the card tighter,

just leaving a little border.

Go round the 4 sides with the chisel end of a Promarker.
Pear Green is a good colour.

Lastly, drag a black Sharpie pen around all 4 sides, too.

Mount on white and that’ll do.
Hope you like it.
The Memories Tree Box makes a great base!
You could put any sentiment or name in there, couldn’t you.
Time to chillax for an hour before bedtime!
I have to say, the tree rows are delightful.
All of them.
Mel drew them for us.
She is so talented!
Bye for now,
Much love,

  1. It's the little touches that make the difference, lovely artwork and these trees are definitely on my list. Reminds me too I must make time for another gelli plate session x

  2. Oh now I like that Barbara! And how is it that I never have a background in my stash like that!!!
Weekend sale and a busy prep week! It'll keep you out of mischief at least! But try and relax a little too! Don't want you being poorly again! Love and hugs! X

  3. Really lovely card and fantastic background. Thank you for the sale offer and I'm sure we'll all understand if orders are a bit delayed because of all the demand for bargain goodies! Susan x

  4. Lovely Barbara, a nice read in between trying to sync my ipod which is driving me mad as I'm getting an error message! Also reminded me to get my 20% order in, just a few outstanding stencils I wanted and the fabric field masks. Right back to ipod. Also just catching up with the last Broadchurch episode…..

p.s. have the trees and word chains already … xxx

  5. Hi Barbara This is lovely, really peaceful. Mel is fab at drawing these stamps isn't she. I've managed to sit on my hands and not be tempted by the sale – the bank manager would definitely not be happy with me! Ho hum must polish my halo! Try and get some rest this week whilst packing orders and prepping for the show. I hope you had a good chillax before bed, mind you if you watched Broadchurch your probably still trying to work it out and wonder what series 3 will bring!!! ( oh yes more David Tennant! Lol). Take care love Diane xxx

  6. How lucky you are to have such a stock of beautiful backgrounds. I'm just starting.
However success in another area. I made your German Plum Cake at the weekend, a smaller version just us, and it was so fantastic that I'm doing it for next weekend when I'm having friends round, one of whom has a German mother. So many thanks for ALL the skills and insights you share with us. It could be Clarity Cakes next! x

  7. The trees work so well with the background of blue and green and the memories with the box round finishes it off beautifully. Love the colouring too. I was out singing this evening so will watch Broadchurch finale another evening. x

  8. Hi Barbara.
Just lovely. I have the trees but I must confess I haven't used them yet. I have time to play tomorrow so I will try them out. I am saving up for distress markers so I will use my pencils I think. Thank you for another lovely piece of art.
    X Chris

  9. Hello Barb, love it! What a great idea to put a box around the word, will add that to my try it list. Have been doing a lot of black borders lately, and they really are very effective for framing the art work. So glad I got my order in, hubz nearly fell over when he saw it, but I have been waiting for my distress markers for so long, it was just too good to miss. Have a great day
