Looking beyond the splat…

Hi there. Thanks for popping in. Have just had the cleanest Messy Hour ever! So I want to share my little arty intermezzo with you. Now don’t worry; she hasn’t lost the plot. She was getting to grips with the new Mat we have started selling, The Best Ever Mat. It really is excellent! I wanted to see how it reacted to water, and just have a play. I lost my temper at work today. Not without reason, but I…

So much to do! So little time to do it in!!!

Hi there, Thanks for popping in. How has your day been? Mine has been full on! Talk about back in the driver’s seat! Had a brilliant planning day today; the next TV shows, with a new twist, the “Classroom” in the New Year, A new Groovi Club, a new Groovi DVD, 4 lines of new stamps – very beautiful, in fact, a whole load of new ideas and designs, our Artist’s colouring book, which is oh so close to perfect…

D-Day.

D-Day.

Hi there. Thanks for popping in. Back in England again. The ferry from Dieppe to Newhaven yesterday evening was pretty rough, I can tell you!! You know you’re in for a caning  when the ferry is pulled out of the harbour by a tug,  to stop it smashing into the harbour wall. Dave’s theory was to eat something as soon as we boarded. “Always best to go sea-fishing on a full stomach”. Two hours later, he was re-inspecting his beef bourguignon….

E-Bayeux

E-Bayeux

Hi there! Last day in France,  Bayeux Tapestry this afternoon. Fantastic craftsmanship, although I had to wonder, even with my basic O level needlework why it was called a tapestry when it looked embroidered to me. Didn’t like to ask – after all, if the French want to call it a tapestry, who am I to argue?! So I googled it when we got to the hotel room, to see what the experts say, and here’s what it says: The…

A Clog Blog!

A Clog Blog!

Bonjour! Sadly, the time has come to say au revoir to our friends here  in very French France. Quel dommage! But while we wend our way home,  with a little cultural stop to see the Bayeux Tapestry en route, I want to share yet another brilliant experience we had with you. Look up the French word Sabot,  and enter the world of clogs… Beautiful wooden clogs. We have visited Elisabeth and Alain several times here,  and I have always admired…

Worn out with thinking. So let’s do some art instead…

Hi there, Thanks for popping in.  Mindful Wednesday Blog today. Mmmmm… Well, here’s the thing.  Early this morning, I lay in bed in the dark, wide awake,  and I was thinking. Thinking, thinking, thinking. Thinking about the poor people in Paris, thinking about what makes a person want to create so much carnage and destruction. Thinking about Clarity,  thinking about TV and where we are going,  thinking about this blog and you. Then with the first cup of tea,  and…

See Food? Sea Food? Got to eat it!

Bonjour mes amis! Ça va bien? Il pleut chats et chien ici! Nonetheless, we had an adventure this morning. We went to an oyster farm, to buy some oysters, because this evening we are having a seafood fiesta with Elisabeth and Alain. When I think of oysters, I think ‘rich man’s food’, don’t you? You know, that échelon of society which has probably never savoured spam and salad-cream sandwiches, or pie and liquor. I mean, the man who queues up at…

Tourists in Bretagne!

Tourists in Bretagne!

Bonjour! Hope you are ok today? Dave and I spent the day exploring the coastline of Bretagne  with our good friends Elisabeth and Alain. The weather was great, and the scenery spectacular. It certainly helps when your guide knows where he is!! First stop, La-Trinité-sur-Mer. Fabulous harbour and phenomenal worldclass Catamarans. Millionaire’s playground, if you ask an old landlubber like me! So apparently the Jules Verne Trophy used to be awarded for  sailing round the world in less than 80…
