Hi there! Thanks for popping in. Not much artwork going on here today folks! Had a looooong trip home from America. Don’t know who was more of a fidget-arse – me or Dave! But look who we hooked up with at Heathrow, and brought home? I love it when it works! Grace came in on a Virgin flight from the Big Apple, and landed an hour before us. Straight in the back door, shoes off, sofa dive and snuggled up….
Howdi! Howdo? Took a while to get to you. Been packing and shutting up the house, and now we are at the Albuquerque Airport, waiting for our flight to Houston, Texas. What a magical place this New Mexico is. The Land of Enchantment. Even the airport is delightful. In fact, they call it the Sunport. Fabulous art everywhere. It’s more like a gallery than an air terminal! What’s even more interesting though, is that although I have been through this…
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by. Thought I’d make a simple stencil picture for you today. It’s getting pretty late for you, because of course, it’s seven hours earlier here in New Mexico, but hey! Better late than never! Our friends here know we are leaving tomorrow, so there is a constant popping in for coffee and to say goodbye. It’s great. So before Nancy shows up, let me write out the instructions quickly! I used : The cottage stencil Thought…
Hi there! Thank you so much for popping in. Wednesday is our Mindful Blog, right? Well. On Monday, we looked at some lovely artwork created using peas, rice, lentils and beans. It occurred to me that it would be a great creative exercise to make something arty out of nothing. What I found, as I was searching outside, was that I was 100% focussed on the activity of searching. In other words, my mind was totally on the task, not…
Clarity YouTube Tuesday has been going for just over a year now, and in that time we have created 11 hours worth of footage for your enjoyment… that’s longer than all three Lord of the Rings films put together! It took them 8 years to make those films! Now, admittedly the acting isn’t quite as good… and the cast is A LOT smaller… and the special effects are rubbish… But I think we’ve done alright and it only cost a…
Hi there, Thanks for dropping in. Monday’s blog flowers and trees, right? Well, let me share something I found in the back room of a little church here in Torrance County, New Mexico. This area is a very poor area. A place of outstanding natural beauty, but poor nonetheless. It was a work of art in progress. Upon closer inspection, I saw that the ingredients were died rice corn, peas and beans. Carefully and lovingly laid and set with PVA…
Hi there! Thanks for popping in! Here’s a little project from the TV last time. Been saving it for a day when I was too busy being on holiday to blog. And today is just such a day. We are off to Santa Fé, so with the 7 hour time difference here’s one I did earlier! Ok, so lets get ready, set and go! Decide on the colours you want to go with, I have chosen some quite bright colours because…
Howdi! Thanks for stopping by. It’s a beautiful sunny day here in New Mexico. The guys are working on the yard and the house, so I thought I would slope off to make a card. I don’t know whether you recall, but back in January, Dave and I came to the CHA and launched Clarity in America. Well, we came via the house, so I left everything I had used on the TV shows – all the stamps, ink pads,…
Hiya! Thank you so much for popping in! Friday’s blog a private peek, right? Well, this may be a little obscure, but I want to talk about something old and precious of mine: my carpet bag. It’s getting old now, a bit threadbare at the neck… but it’s still so beautiful to touch, so soft and rich, can you believe it’s 20 years old? I remember that, because 20 years ago I came home to England from America with the…
Howdi! Greetings from New Mexico! Landed here last night, and are having the best break ever. Drove along Route 66 and I-40 all the way to Albuquerque yesterday. Stopped off at the Petrified Forest. What an eye opener! It was unbelievable to see how volcanic ash can transform wooden trees to stone !!! Here are some examples of polished petrified wood in the museum / shop: The colours are insane! And the weight is untrue! Seriously. It weighs tons! Smuggle…
