Stamping on Parchment…

Stamping on Parchment…

Hi there

Thanks for popping in. Just a quick little stamping on parchment step by step, using Tina’s lovely new Robin stamps. CLICK HERE

Tricks n tips, right? I think it’s always a smart move to stamp up your composition on copy paper before you stamp onto the parchment. So mount up your stamps and work out a layout first.

You see, you can see through the parchment, so this copy-paper version becomes your template, or pattern as it were, when you lay it underneath.

The rectangle Picot die and matching Groovi plate are fab for an instant outer edge, too.

Flick to the back of the parchment and use a white hard Faber Castell eraser to remove colour, then add the words using our Barb’s Handwriting plate.

Time to add colour back in at the back. Perga Liner pencils, Pergacolours – you pick x

I also added a beautiful little border from one of our new It’s a Wrap Corner plates: Devotion.

The Devotion Plate has got so many superb corner frame patterns! Actually, they ALL have! Check these plates out!

Endless possibilities…

And on that note, I shall go back to cleaning out my Shac Shac! It looks like a bomzitit !!!

Love and Hugs

  1. Oh boy Barbara this is gorgeous I love it. There is so much loveliness here. I am actually working of the rest of this week and next so I am not around as much as usual. It feels strange to be going out to work in a lockdown. I hope the tidying goes well. Have a good evening. Take care. Hugs xxx

  2. Brilliant! Why have I never thought to stamp on paper first to try to compose my parchment, great idea and will use that tip next time!

  3. I’m sure the kittens would love to help you tidy up the SHAC Shack. Think how much fun they would have! Busy week this week but on holiday from Monday! A stress free two or three weeks and lots of time to craft! See you in the morning. Lots of love. Hxx

  4. HAPPY TIDYING TODAY. As fast as I tidy one place another gets in a mess – not always mine !!! Remember, a messy craftroom is a sign of genius. Hubby pyrographed a sign and hung it outside my craft room door.
Not surprised the Tree plate sold out as it is so versatile especially with the shaped cards.
Your Robin project is lovely. I enjoy stamping on coloured parchment but choosing which one to use can sometimes take longer than the project as they are all so pretty.
Made a bookmark today on a Christmas theme to keep with the pile of books I am saving for the 12 days of Christmas readathon. Thanks for the inspiration.
    Stay calm, stay safe.

  5. What a lovely design. Still have to catch up with your shows. Was out walking with a friend this afternoon after a virtual conference this morning and I’m exhausted at 10 past 9!!!

  6. Beautiful card, enjoyed the step by step. My crafty space is a in a mess too, but you can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs. Weekend coming Barb hope you find time to relax and play with your lovable kittens. Oh Dave’s birthday too. Have fun, hope the weathers as nice as it’s been here for a few days, then you can get a nice walk in. Happy Birthday Dave.xxx

  7. Gorgeous! I’ve just ordered these stamps, so looking forward to playing with them. I can’t even bear to look at the mess on my craft desk – Whatever I do, I wind up crafting in an ever decreasing amount of space!!

  8. Hi Barb,
That is beautiful. So pleased I ordered mine. My wild flower stamps came today so looking forward to playing with them tomorrow. Congratulations on the Christmas Tree sellout. Linda has certainly done it again. Really like the shaped cards as well and such a good weight to them. Needless to say , my basket ended up being full! Loved the photos of the kittens yesterday. Love and hugs Alison xxx

  9. I bought my place on the Isle of Wight because it had a craft room but it is just used for storage. I don’t work in there as it has no view. From my lounge I can see the Solent from Hurst Point all the way to Swanage so all my current craft stuff migrates to there as there is always something going on out to sea. If I have visitors I have to do a frantic clear up ! One advantage of lockdown – no visitors !

  10. Hi Barb, what a beautiful card with this step by step. You always make it look so easy. Hope you managed to sort out the Bomb site, mine needs a bit of a tidy up too. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx
