Rain stopped play…

Rain stopped play…

Hi there

Thanks for popping in.

Our Raku Pottery got rained off today, but we certainly gave it our best shot!

Got absolutely soaked through to the bone. Still enjoyed it though.

Managed one kiln load, but then decided to reconvene next Saturday instead.

So Sue and I came home, dranks loads of tea and chatted the hind legs off the proverbial donkey all afternoon. Much better.

Time to go get set for tomorrow’s TV now.

Stay safe

Love always,

Barb xx

  1. Unfortunately it may be your last pottery class for a while. Sad but probably necessary. Nervous about going back into work on Monday as there is not much way to social distance pupils within school. I hate having to teach from a distance at the front, but safest way to do it.

  2. What a shame! However, you made the best of it and had a lovely afternoon with your friend which you wouldn’t have had otherwise. All the best tomorrow afternoon and evening. Hxx

  3. You’ll be glad you did it today.
Hope you can relax a little tonight so you’re refreshed for your shows tomorrow and Monday.
    Love and hugs xxx

  4. Hi Barb,
Shame that rain stopped play because I don’t think you’ll be able to reconvene next week unfortunately as it certainly looks as though we are going into lockdown for a month. Personally I think it’s the right thing to do and hopefully it will stop all of the bad feeling that has been going on for the last few weeks between north and south etc. Hope the shows go well tomorrow – I know they will. Love and hugs Alison xxxx

  5. Thank goodness we have you and all the other Shackers for the next month. As you say daily Barbara ‘we ain’t goin nowhere ‘. I shall be with you on TV tomorrow. Don’t get nervous you do it so well. Just think you’re in the Shack xx

  6. Shame about being rained off but nice to have a relaxing afternoon with your friend.
Weather looks to be stormy for the next few days. Miserably wet here today but a smidgin of sun earlier.
With lockdown imminent we are settling in to craft ourselves silly. Also getting the Christmas trees out early to cheer the place up. I like to take my time sorting and hanging the lights and decorations on the trees so they might be ready in a week or two.
Looking forward to the weekend shows.
Stay safe, stay well, stay upbeat and positive everyone, we will get through this.

  7. Looks like we are all know locked down again so sad you pottery got rain of today. Was very wet windy sun did get to come out for a while today x

  8. Stop worrying Barb you do brilliantly on the tele and we wouldn’t know that you are nervous, you hide it so well. We are going to be even more grateful for the shac shack now its lock down again for us all. Sorry you had to call off your pottery but at least you did some and had a lovely chat with your friends. Stay safe Barb.xxx

  9. Well, it looks as though the rain didn’t dampen your spirits too much! As others have said, it’s good that you tried it today – due to the lockdown starting on Thursday. Looking forward to watching you on tv tomorrow, it’s so good that you can do this remotely. Take care and get plenty of cuddles with those beautiful kittens. Hugs Gilly x

  10. Hope your pots will last another week, or perhaps Dave can put together the right equipment for you to do it at home. Let’s just hope everyone keeps to the rules and the numbers drop as we hope. Stay safe everyone. Just keep crafting. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter)

  11. What a shame that the rain got in the way. I don’t think there will be any pottery for a while now. I hope the TV prep went well. We watched friends get married yesterday the wedding had been postponed twice. They are so glad that they are finally married. From Thursdays weddings are cancelled. Take care and stay safe. Hugs xxx

  12. Hello Barb, such a pity that the rain tipped it down yesterday, as it may be a while before pottery can reconvene. I hope everyone stays safe and sensible. Will be watching the shows this afternoon. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx

  13. What a shame. I love seeing your pottery and I suspect next week has now been kyboshed as well. Take care, stay safe and know how much pleasure you give us all.

  14. Shame about the raku day, but how lovely to have a chatty afternoon with your friend. The fires and pots will still be there when the weather is better. X
