I enjoy everything!

I enjoy everything!

Hi there,

Thanks for popping in!

Day 5 of the 6-Day marathon retreat today – and I have to tell you, I feel as fresh as a daisy ! I really, really do.

Let me tell you what I have done to feel so refreshed and happy, when one would think I should be absolutely cream-crackered after 4 days of full on workshops, with two more to go and a QVC pilot in Germany next week…

First thing: a really good, long sleep. Went to bed at 9pm and slept for 9 hours.

Second thing: listened to Sadhgurufor half an hour, an Indian guy I often turn to for spiritual guidance .

Third thing: warm shower and a chat to myself under the cascade.

Result?

Relaxed, happy, refreshed – and ready to welcome our new guests this morning.

I am sure it is a combination of all of the above which has put me in this delightful place today. But let me tell you what Sadhguru said, because I think that is what released the current turmoil in my head. You see, I have been full of fear around the imminent Germany TV Trip next week, worrying whether I would fumble and fall, if you know what I mean. Anyway, not wanting to dwell on that again, let me explain…

Sadhguru was asked, “What is your greatest weakness?”

“Danger” he replied. Then he went on to elucidate that only when he walked the line of danger (as opposed to staying in a safe place) did he stretch himself, did he test his abilities and learn. And when asked what he enjoyed doing most, he replied that he had trained himself to enjoy absolutely everything he did.

So I took those nuggets with me in the shower and thought about them in the context of my own life. My conclusion is this:

Going to Germany on QVC is stretching me, not intimidating me. And once I embrace it in a positive light, then I can actually look forward to it and enjoy the learning experience. At the end of the day, I have to do it, I have made a contract, so I should enjoy it.

Does that make sense to you? It does to me. Now I just have to hold that positive thought. And if need be go back to Sadhguru, and listen again, for reinforcement and encouragement. Look him up. He is truly inspirational.

Got to go – and enjoy an arty day with a group of lovely ladies. Now THAT won’t be hard!!!

Love & Hugs,

Barb

xx

  1. Wow this is an early blog today! Yes he is right! We all need to enjoy everything we do! Not sure why you were worried about the German pilot. You will be a success! Just be yourself, laugh at the oopsies and show your lovely goods! The audience will melt! Enjoy the retreat today!

    1. Well said Sally.👍
BTW did any Spragg relations that you know own a green grocers shop in Wolverhampton 50 years ago? Probs unlikely but thought I’d ask.🤣

  2. That sounds very positive and like being positive, I’m very good at holding myself back so I shall take your advice and look this person up. Have a great day x

  3. What wise words Barbara – I have often heard people say it is how you approach things both physically and mentally that makes all the difference – having read your blog this morning that makes more sense now. Have a fabulous last two days – keep Judith and Andrea in check – they can be such tinkers!! 😉😉😉 xxx

    1. No chance of keeping them under control. They were with us yesterday at the pub and were bouncing off the ceiling with excitement. They tried to get out of us what we had been doing, but we were good and not a word on the subject escaped, other than to say they will love it. xxx Maggie

  4. Even I am up early today, workmen coming to replace patio & put a path up the garden following our experience of trying to get to the garage in a wheelchair over stones when my OH broke his ankle. We decided to future proof the outside space whilst we were able rather than wait until we weren’t !!
I think we always fear the unknown & sometimes we just have to jump on board & embrace new things.
Enjoy the last 2 days of the Retreat, I am sure you will all have a great time.

  5. Hi Barbara, on top of all that you can do German tv with your eyes shut. You know your stuff – your products and how to use them, you can’t fail ! The way you come across is so friendly and natural people wont fail to love you ! You don’t need good luck wishes you just need a “GO FOR IT”. Glad you’re in a good place. On top of that my NDC things came yesterday – all absolutely fab ! Thank you. Enjoy the rest of the retreat xx

  6. Glad you feel more confident about the upcoming German show. New experiences are always daunting but once you get going I’m sure you’ll find it exhilarating. Relax and enjoy, we all know you can do it! xxx

  7. Have a good day Barbara and enjoy doing the fantastic projects.

You will blast it out of the ball park next week. Will go and Google Sadhguru in a mo!

    Love to you all xxx

  8. Good grief… Last two days already! You are bound to have a wonderful two days…. The first two were brilliant and days 3&4 by all accounts were amazing so you should find that these two days sail by!
As for Germany next week you’ll be absolutely fine! You’ll be prepped like there’s no tomorrow and you know your stuff so why the worry! The crafters in Germany will be so grateful to you going over for them too so just enjoy it! I know you love teaching and sharing your love for all things clarity so just think of it as the next step out there!
Lots of love and hugs xxxx

  9. Hi Barbara,
You will do well in Germany.
Most crafters like to see the experts do an “OOPS” because then they don’t feel too bad when they make a mistake themselves. So don’t worry! With your friendly attitude and sense of humour you will gather many more crafters into the fold.
Keep relaxed and positive and just be your lovely self.
Glad the retreats are going so well – maybe one day who knows ……. I may get there!

  10. What a great way to view life. Really, your TV stints are just like a workshop without worrying about the catering, and you love the workshops! It’s funny how, when we see the issue from another perspective we can turn our worries on their head. x

  11. Hi Barbara
I once heard you say that your favourite part of your job is the teaching, and you are brilliant at it. You were born to teach and it comes so naturally to you. At the retreats you are teaching many people, well when you go to QVC just imagine that you are just teaching that one presenter how to use your wonderful products.
I used to be a teacher for Adult Education and I used to get so scared at the beginning of each term. The way I used to get round it was I used to act the part of a teacher as soon as I entered the room. That way it never felt like me that was doing the actual teaching, then as the lesson went on I started to feel more comfortable and I became myself again. I loved my job as a teacher and miss it every day.
So enjoy it while you can, you have a wealth of talent and a world full of people like us yearning to grab just a little bit of your expertise. I’m sure Germany will love you just as much as we do. Xxxxx
I’m going to look up Sadhguru now, and see if I can get some inspiration and encouragement from him too.
    Love & Hugs
    Xxxxx

  12. You are going to be amazing in Germany. You have a real gift for explaining the how and why when demonstrating. Your excitement about learning a new technique really shows. Also with Clarity’s reputation for quality, I’m sure you will be a huge hit.

  13. We should all try to stretch ourselves and do new things to live our lives to the full, and be positive instead of negative. You will rock Germany Barbara, and there is no way the next two days won’t be thoroughly enjoyed by everyone on the retreat. x

  14. Hello Barbara

You remember what you have said time and again? Fail to prepare, prepare to fail. Therefore, if it all goes Pete Tong next week it won’t be because of anything you have done, or not done, it will be the flying tables. It will all be fine, at least you can speak the lingo.

Thank you for a wonderful two days. See you in Leyburn.

    Love
    Roz.xxx

  15. Not only will the German crafters love watching you and all the fantastic products, but you speak their language too, so will make it so much more enjoyable for them.
You sound more positive today, so thanks to Sadhguru and maybe a new husband as well! Hope you have had a great day. Annette X

  16. Hello Barbara – After a road accident 3 years ago I decided to live in the moment, to enjoy everyday, and not to wish the time away. I look at everything with a positive attitude and whatever the day brings I try to remain happy. You never know what’s around the corner. Things come along that test us but leaning on spiritual teachers and others far more wise than us can give us the strength we need to face our fears. Barbara, you will be fine in Germany. Others will be there to support you and the confidence you need is already there inside you. Lots of love, Donna X

  17. Good afternoon Barbara
Aww I can’t believe you are nervous
You are a natural on tv and Germany is no different your explanations and demonstrations of the wonderful groovi system will go down a storm and I predict a sell out. I feel a song coming on. Lol 😝 x

  18. Dear Barbara
I wish you SO well for Wednesday and KNOW all will be fine. No one is as good at being YOU as YOU are. You have this wonderful talent that you share so generously and so many of us benefit – I thank you for that with all my heart. Keep up the good work. I certainly will watch at 4 o’clock – God bless. Love, Jutta

  19. You can do it all your fantastic you are so natural believe in yourself think of katie cheering you on, hope today was lots of fun I’m sure it was would have loved to come again one more day . Then relax take deep breath and go share your wonderful company to the Germans they are going to love it as much as we do xxx

  20. I have deliberately waiting till now to comment while mulled over what you were saying. Then I put it into the context of my last two wonderful days at the Retreat. I told you that I loved every single second, which is true. However, thinking about it, I did love doing the Groovi because that is a serious love in my life. Now the other projects stretched me and really made me think, so I grew more by doing those, and probably enjoyed them more. It is all about being positive and looking to enjoy “the journey”. I left, looking forward to having another go and feeling really pleased with what I achieved. When they are whizzing those tables out of reach, just pretend you are teaching us. We will be sitting there, just dying to have a go. xxx Maggie

  21. You will be amazing but think I can understand you having some nerves about it all. I felt nervous coming along to the retreat this year, why I really don’t know as I have been so many times. I loved every minute though. Hope you have had a good day with your new set of students. Thank-you for our two fabulous days. Looking forward to catching up with everyone at Leyburn now. xx

  22. Come on Barbara, just look what you have achieved over the last 25 years in the stamping world.
I first “discovered” you 12 years ago at a Happy Stampers show at Port Sunlight. OMG! Since then I have closely traveled the craft road with you and your expanding team of wonderful demonstrators. Purchasing your quality stock and effortlessly segueing between stamping and Groovi. QVC in Germany, PFT! No problem, rock it to them kid.

  23. Hi Barb,
I know exactly how you feel about your new venture. A few years ago, I decided I wanted to learn sign language and signed up for a level 1 course. I was really nervous, especially as I had missed a week! My friend had taught me the alphabet which was very fortunate as the tutor made me stand up in front of the class to tell everyone my name – it was awful. However, once I’d got over that hurdle, I really enjoyed it and imagine how I felt a couple of years later when I had passed my level 2! I was so proud of myself. You will be fantastic in Germany and being able to speak the language will definitely win them over & if that doesn’t then all of the Clarity goodies certainly will. With Dave at your side, you can’t go wrong. Love and hugs Alison xxxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends,
Hope everyone is ok. I bet I know one very happy lady tonight – Donna, have a fabulous break from school. Love and hugs to all, Alison xxxx

  24. Hi Barbara
What a lovely , uplifting blog. Yes much better to get out of that comfort zone and stretch yourself, think of the journey you will have. I hope the retreat goes well, I can’t believe they are nearly over. I know one excited lady in Germany who is waiting for you to come on the telly. You know your stuff, you know the language! Big help! You will be fabulous.
    Love Diane xxx

  25. Hello Barb, sound advice, thank you and you will be a hit in Germany. Look forward to hearing about the experience. Enjoy the remainder of the retreats. Bx
