Just got to our final destination and it’s 3.30 in the morning in the UK, but about 8.30 pm here.
Must be mad.
We nearly missed the connecting flight in Dallas Fort Worth.
They were literally closing the doors when we got to the gate.
That was entirely down to the shambolic US Entry system in place when we got off the plane from London.
We actually had ample time between flights, but there were 4 passport inspectors and about 400 people to inspect, so go figure.
And they really didn’t seem to give a monkeys whether we made our connection or not.
You can’t help the thoughts which come into your head can you….
I just mostly know when not to voice them, and when confronted by a haughty Texan with a gun, I definitely knew better than to have a go. So we just kept our mouths shut tight, and let him tell us all about how America is the greatest and safest country in the world. It wasn’t until we were strapped in the seats on the flight bound for Albuquerque that we let off steam. Properly. We also figured out that if a friendly English chap hadn’t let us go in front of him in the mental queue in Dallas, we could have waved our flight goodbye.
It really is a long haul to NewMexico, but now we’re here we know why we make this trip so often. It really is the Land of Enchantment.
But now I am off to the Land of Winkin Blinkin and Nod.
Excited to be here. We’ve got some great mini trips lined up ….
Love & Hugs,
