10 Groovi Years!

10 Groovi Years!

Hi there,

Can you believe it’s 10 years since we launched the GROOVI SYSTEM? Where does the time go? We really have come a long way down the Parchy road since I first launched this concept on the old Create & Craft, even before Hochanda came along. Get the kettle on, make a cuppa, and then settle down to read my original blog about the launch back in 2015; it’s quite something!

Here is the Blog when Groovi was launched – Click HERE

I smiled to see 95 comments. Those were certainly different times! But I was also chuffed to see how many familiar friends were supporting Clarity then – and still are. Thank you. Let’s see if we can get 95 comments today! I know for certain that about 1,500 people read this blog when I post, so it isn’t that impossible! Go on, make my day! 🥰 Tell us if you’re a parcher, and tell us when you started. Was Groovi the trigger for you? Or were you a trad parcher? Pray do tell!

If you’ve got time, the very first Groovi YouTube is also here for you – Click HERE.

It makes you realise how far we have come since then! And how much more you get in the Starter Kit now!

Let’s compare then and now here…from little acorns and all that.

Groovi Starter Kit 2015

Groovi Starter Kit 2025

To say it has evolved is an understatement! I noticed in the Youtube video that we used cello tape to secure the parchment – now we have Groovi tabs of course. I saw we had the blue mat – that has changed to black (without the grid). Did we have a project booklet back then? Nope! The traditional parchers, like Linda Williams and Tina Cox, hadn’t arrived at that point! I for one was very VERY happy when they did! They have taught us all so very much!

When we started out with the Groovi system, it soon became apparent that the simple process of getting in the groove of a picture etched in acrylic with an embossing tool is an exceptionally relaxing and mindful exercise. It also became clear very quickly that a lot of people saw what we saw, and embraced this new hobby.

  • Some wanted something new.
  • Some were trad parchers who saw a new way to enjoy their art form.
  • Some struggled with anxiety, and could see the mindful benefits of the Groovi system.
  • Some were Clarity fans who trusted us, and went where we went.

In the space of 2 years, 2 laser machines grew to 13 laser machines – and we were flying. It’s quite a success story really. To take a traditional craft, which by all accounts was on the way out, and breathe new life into it is one thing. But to build a fantastic, tight community of caring sharing artists, who help each other at so many different levels, who support and love each other, who even meet up all over the country – now THAT is truly something.

Groovi Worldwide, Groovi Tuesday, Pergamano Worldwide, Mini makes & PTC’s on Facebook, the Groovi Clarity Club. All of these groups offer love and support online – and ANYBODY is welcome. Now THAT is truly something to cherish.

So let’s talk about our 10 year anniversary. As I say, there’s a lot to celebrate.

In a nutshell…

10 years. So for the next 10 days we’ll take 10% off all things Groovi and Pergamano.

There’ll be 10 Golden Tickets, and Double Points on ALL new Groovi Product Launches for 10 days from the day of launch. The whole 10 days will be peppered with new products at great prices.

To mark the occasion, we’ve also come up with a great new addition to our Groovi System: a brand new MIDI Plate size. It sits in between our standard A5 square plates and our A6 square baby plates. Why? The artwork is smaller than the standard plates, feels more achievable, but loses none of the intricate detail.

Tune in tomorrow at 3pm, to see the new French Lace Plates. I guarantee, you will be impressed.

I couldn’t resist getting these immaculate designs turned into stamps for us stampers in the Clarity fold! They are superb! Introducing our brand new Richelieu French Lace Sampler A4 Stamp Set

and Toppers & Tags, for easy makes, hot foiling – and ATC’s xxx

Check out the wonderful artwork from our Design team.

There is so much superb artwork – this is just a selection. Which brings me to the next point. Our design Team. To me, they are like our ambassadors. They ALL work tirelessly to create wonderful, inspirational samples and projects for us, and they share their knowledge always. My gratitude overflows.

Linda Williams, who was a key Pergamano Tutor for many years before we even thought of Groovi, was instrumental in blending Groovi with traditional parchment skills. She was one of a few traditional parchers who cheered and applauded when we rocked up, and saw us as a prayer answered. Over the years, she has become a very close personal friend, has helped us more than you can ever know. She has shared her vast knowledge of the art with us for years – almost 10 in fact! I am so, so grateful to her for helping us shape Groovi and Pergamano. I will never forget calling her on the phone and telling her,

“Guess what, Linda. You’ll never believe this.”
“What?”
“We’ve bought Pergamano!”

It was a very happy conversation.

So yes. Three cheers to Paul Church, Linda Williams and ALL the team. As we always say,

TEAMWORK MAKES THE DREAM WORK

Love always,
Barb x x x

  1. Good afternoon.
I staetedcparching when a friend gave me all her pergamano stuff when she moved( 20 years ago).
I have some groovy bits, but still do it the old fashioned way. wishing you many more years of Great Groovy.
    will be tuned in tomorrow.

  2. I was a traditional parcher but when groovi came along I was in straight away I enjoy it so much I just loose myself .
Thanks to all the team you are all so talented.

  3. I started as a traditional parcher in 2002. I first saw Groovi at a parchment exhibition down in Bristol. The first plates I noticed were the nested circles. To be able to get a perfect circle with ease was a game changer for me! I then bought a starter kit, I was smitten! The border plates amazed me too (in the days I first invested in those we had to sellotape them to the plate mate).
The day I joined the design team, I couldn’t sleep because I was so excited. Groovi hasn’t replaced traditional parchment for me, it’s enhanced it. I can get the image down and the put as much trad work into it as I like.
    I love it!

  4. I’m a trad parcher and had lessons at an evening class many years ago, at a school close to where I live but now I love all things Groovi and Clarity. I just think it’s fabulous and long may it continue. Happy 10 years!

  5. I started doing parching January last year and absolutely love your products and the knowledge you and your amazing team share with us.

  6. I started parching with Groovi, I felt it was beyond me the Trad. way, I started when it first became available with starter kit and 2 plates, I now have a good collection.

  7. I did have a go at parching when you very first launched Groovi but have to admit I’m a stamper at heart (way to impatient to let the work rest). That said I really admire the people who do have the patience & the work they produce. I also remember the outcry from the traditionalists but once they saw the benefits they embraced it. As Glynis said above it enables the line art to be done much quicker so that the rest can be done traditionally if you want. Here’s to the next ten years.

  8. I was a traditional patcher, and I was so happy when Groovi cam about because it meant no tracing with ink or pencil… and when the plates came to make beautiful lace designs it made my dream come true…. Saved me so much parchment in the bin because the old way never really worked for me… now I price such delicate and beautiful pieces. Now I have retired I can spend many hours parching, so I would like to say thankyou to you all at Clarity …

  9. Started in 201q as traditional parcher with wonderful tutor still have the patterns. started groovi few years later and enjoy mixing and matching plates. friends and family get cards on occasions and all say they have kept them too good to throw. Enjoy doing especially on my own now. Thank you.

  10. I started as a traditional parcher in the 90s but didn’t enjoy tracing the designs so I did more gridwork and cutting. I had a break from it but started again when my husband was ill and after seeing Tina’s snowflakes on Create and Craft I made enough to decorate our tree. I saw Groovi the day it was launched and my sister bought me my first plates for Christmas that year. Needless to say I have bought so many more since. Happy 10th birthday.

  11. congratulations Clarity xx I love learning and completing parchment designs, I first saw Barbara on C&C demonstrating the brayer technique and Paul demo parchment craft with the beautiful Groovi plates, I’ve been a fan ever since, also recently joined the stamping club, been a Groovi member longer, love everything Clarity do, always quality, fun, crafting fun, Barbara’s Shac Shac also helped me tremendously during the Pandemic as I was a “key worker” thankyou for keeping us all happy, thankyou for everything ClarityStamp do, you are a sharing, friendly company. xx

  12. tried trad parching many years ago , but , couldn’t understand the terminology that came with the patterns , what did white work mean
bought the groovi kit at the open day when it was first launched , with guidance from barb ,Paul , Linda ,Tina and Louise now love it although do still stamp x

  13. I started as traditional parcher back in 1994 after seeing a beginner’s kit at a craft fair .The lady selling them was a tutor,Lynn Bell and I signed up for some classes. I thoroughly enjoyed it over the years going to many classes and tutors. Even started a group with my friend Bernie Hayes, who I first met at a class in 2003. Incidentally our group is still going strong today. The plate system is and still continues to be a game changer in that you get an exact outline and can then do the traditional embossing and lace work as little or as much as you want. So very different from tracing over paper pattern in ink and then embossing especially when you strayed off the line. Groovi has brought out so many plates and ideas over the 10 years and the fact that you can mix and match is a bonus. Here’s to many more years to come x

  14. I resisted Groovi until my second Summer Retreat, now to say it has taken over is an understatement!!!
I’m so glad to have found it as my v none crafty daughter was finally persuaded by Hazel to join us all at what turned out to be the last Open Day at Leyburn.
Enjoy your celebration, and remember how much of a difference you have made to the crafting world.

  15. I can’t believe the groovi started 20 years ago! can’t remember how long I’ve been a groovi club member. I haven’t done much parchment work as I still prefer stamping. will look forward to seeing these new stamps as well as all the new midi system which seems a much better size !

  16. Hi Barb, you know I am more of a stamper than a groovi girl but have a little collection of plates and must make time to do more. At every open day I do the groovi make and take and really enjoy it. Thanks to both Hazel and Jane who have run those groups, their work is so inspiring. I also had a session with Linda at the end of one open day, wow, master at work!
Congratulations on the first 10 years of groovi and many more to come.
    Zara xx

  17. I tried traditional parching but found it too difficult then one day saw Groovi being demonstrated and thought I would give it a go so bought the starter kit. So much easier. But I am a stamper really so don’t do much Groovi but last Christmas I made the Christmas tree. Took ages but I was very pleased with what I made. Congratulations Clarity and thank you for all the inspiration. I will go back to it.

  18. I can believe I have been doing Groovi for 10 yrs l was taught the old way and found the pen and ink not easy to master and when l saw Groovi my prayers were answered so much better and tidier to do thanks Groovi xx

  19. I’d stopped doing traditional parchment due to eyesight and arthritis problems and was delighted to see Groovi launched. I got on board straightaway. Life saver. Thank you.

  20. I dipped my toe into the world of Groovi when my thumbs were riddled with arthritis and finding it difficult to do any meaningful crafting for any length of time. I was waiting for an operation to remove a thumb bone in both hands (trapezisiectomy) so that I would be able to comfortably without so much pain use my hands again. Because Groovi was just like holding a pen I was still able to achieve some beautiful results and I could take my time, the Groovi system saved my sanity and still does to this day. The op was a great success and although my hands still give me some pain especially in cold damp conditions, with the aid of some wonder gloves I found in America I can now craft for longer. Thank you so so much Clarity you are my crafting guardian angel xXx

  21. I tried traditional Parchment and could not get it. I have toe dipped a little Groovy and liked it. I may dip a little more because of the size of these new plates. Happy Anniversary x

  22. I started Groovi in 2020 during lockdown when I was confined to barracks for nearly a year.

I am a brass bander and all our rehearsals had been cancelled and we could only meet up on Zoom.

I needed something to keep me occupied so I bought a 1940’s piano intending to teach myself to play. At the same time , I stumbled upon Groovi and became instantly hooked.

I absolutely love it and really enjoy snipping, so therapeutic. As you can guess, the piano took a back seat, but it does make a lovely piece of furniture to put all my picture frames on.

I will never tire of Groovi and so glad you started this concept 10 years ago.

Happy Anniversary and long may Groovi reign.

  23. I only started doing Groovi towards the end of 2022 after purchasing the Groovi starter kit from Hochanda after watching it being demonstrated. After doing the samples on the leaflet that came with it I was hooked, I then purchased the grid starter kit and feel in love with the lace patterns and haven’t looked back (600+ plates later).
Please keep it going, you are a great and caring company to do business with who always look after there customers 💕x

  24. More a stamper than a groover. Purchased the starter kit about 2017. Keep dipping in and out but love all the tips from all the team. I tend to make all my special occasion cards with my groovi plates as the look so lovely especially now I’m happier doing my snipping.
Can’t believe it is the 10th anniversary seems like yesterday.❤

  25. Afternoon Barb!
I have been a Clarity Fan for what seems like forever! I met you at a show and you converted me into a stamper there and then!
I followed you at the shows and also on TV when you started on there! And then you asked me to be on your Design Team for stamps and stencils.
I knew that Groovi was coming out and I’d said to myself that I’d have a go at it but I wasn’t going to pursue it fully as I didn’t want to get into another new craft. I told myself I’d be happy with just the starter kit and only because it was to support you! Haha!
And now 10 years on I think I do it as much as I do stamping and other crafts. I’ve even demonstrated it on TV before Create and Craft folded.
I still have the very first card I made with the starter kit and couple of extra plates I bought at the time. I’ll never get rid of it as it’s a reminder of where I started and how much I’ve progressed over that time. I’ve been lucky to learn from Linda Josie and Glynis who have been so generous with their help and advice. And also being part of the clarity Groovi Design Team means I get lots of opportunities to practise the different techniques.
Thank you Barbara for bringing us this beautiful craft that anyone can pick up and have a go at and be successful at.

    Love and hugs as always.
    Xxxxxx

  26. At the end of 1998 they found cancer in my left sinus and it pushed my eye out of line. I was worried I would not be able to follow my hobbies. Thought embroidery, art and reading were off the cards.
I started parching in 2000 when my cancer treatment finished and I was force to retire. I saw a demonstration in a Hobbycraft store which prompted me to join Pergamano classes and for several years, amassed hundreds of patterns and started workshops at two craft shops.
I was already a fan of your stamps so was sure the quality of your Groovi plates would be excellent. Bought the starter set when it launched, joined three clubs (worth every penny) and have never looked back.
My hubby bought me an embossing plate of multi sized owls from another supplier and while I was grateful for his thoughtfulness I begged him not to get any more. There are always superb new Groovi plates coming up for him to spend his money on. I love being treated occasionally.
Since we moved here in 2014 we have had many setbacks but Clarity and especially Groovi has kept me sane and calmed me when needed.
So finally a big THANK YOU to you Barbara, Dave and all the Clarity team and designers who’ve made my life so happy.
Here’s to another fabulous 10 years.

  27. Hi Barbara,
    Happy 10th anniversary.
I tried traditional parching many years ago but couldn’t get the hang of doing the line work so gave up quite quickly, still have the old kit I bought. I bought the first Groovi starter kit and tried to buy all the plates as they came out so have quite a few but I couldn’t keep up in the end. I joined the Groovi club when it launched and I’m still collecting them now, I love getting a new plate each month and look forward to the newsletter as well to see what you’ve been up to.
Heater to many more years of Clarity and Groovi x

  28. I. Read of the groovi starter kit in my craft magazine, this was when you did demos for the mag. My husband bought it for me that Christmas and I have loved doing it ever since. Joining the clarity family brought me into stamping and using stencils too. Thanks for all your innovations and inspiration over the years. Wishing you all success in the current promotion.

  29. Congratulations on 10 years of Groovi, having just read the blog from 2015 I realised I couldn’t have been involved so much with Clarity at that point as I didn’t comment but I know I soon caught the bug & as they say the rest is history. Its amazing how many names I recognise from the blog who are still involved today. I had a Pergamano starter kit sitting on my craft room shelf for years but couldn’t get on with the tracing of the line art. I now use the black sponge mat for adding brads to my work 😂. I went to several classes at Evesham & still see several people that I met there today. We started a group in Bromsgrove that still meets every 2 weeks for 2 hours of Groovi & chatting.
Looking forward to the show tomorrow to see the new plates & platemate plus of course the next 10 days of Groovi celebrations with Paul & Louise.
Here’s to the next 10 years of Groovi – I wonder where that will take us ?
Have a fabulous trip with Sam & no doubt you will both come back with lots more ideas & tricks up your sleeves.

  30. Congratulations on this great success and a big thank you. I have bought the starter kit right at the beginning (still have the blue mat!) as the traditional parchment system seemed too difficult for me at the time. I had seen such a beautiful card on the internet (I think it was a Linda Williams creation) which prompted me to get materials and try the system, yet I didn’t persevere. What a blessing for me when Groovi came on the scene – I just love it. I have lots of plates, regrettably don’t use them as much at present as they deserve – being in my 9th decade and having lost my husband recently makes life difficult for me. I so admire your design team’s creations, so beautiful. So, heartfelt thank you again for Groovi, indeed for being the company you are 🥰. Long may your success continue 🙏. Xx 🤗

  31. Started making cards for family and friends as a hobby when I retired. Began with die cutting, but found Groovi about three years ago, much more relaxing. l can sit quietly, don’t have to mess with glue, which I am hopeless with, (don’t think I have ever made a die cut card without blobs of glue on it), and can either use the many beautiful plates to just copy, or mix and match to make my own designs which I love having the freedom to do. Know I wouldn’t have had the patience without the plates so many thanks.

  32. First of all it was nice to see Brenda’s comments, are you still in touch with her, if so, I hope she’s well and I used to love reading and replying to her posts.

Second what great new plates and stamps – can’t wait to get a go with them. Been a tough week but you and Janice combined pulled me out of the gloom, I watched while waiting for hubby in chiropractor in the morning and it was a real feel good factor and again in afternoon. Don’t know what the bank manager is going to say – lucky we don’t see one these days ! Can’t wait to get my OAP in October I think I’ll redirect it to you.😹

Third, i was with Groovi from the start, I too have a shaky hand or two ! Essential tremor – why is it called essential ?! You even showed one of my abstract designs, I think you asked us to make anything with the starter plate, on Hochanda !

Have a lovely trip with Sam, we will miss you but will enjoy naughty Paul – he’d better be naughty – he wasn’t very while you were in Paris 😹

  33. Congratulations on 10 years. I have the starter kit with the blue mat!
I have loved seeing how things have developed over the years.
Looking forward to the shows tomorrow

  34. Well done Clarity, these products look fabulous for all you Parchers. I haven’t tried it , maybe one day but I have so much other crafting to do it’s not anytime soon. I love the Clarity products I buy and since I became a member have many products still to use. I need to learn more about using the 2 and 3 way overlay stamps.

  35. Congratulations on achieving a wonderful 10 years of Groovi.
I started buying in 2017 and am amazed that I still feel the same excitement when new plates appear, a feeling not shared by my hubby when he sees the bank balance decreasing at regular intervals. I do use stamps and dies to make cards, but Groovi gives me the most pleasure as it is relaxing and you feel so wonderful when you achieve an original design using different plates. I don’t know of anyone in my locality that uses Groovi, but love sharing the subject with anyone who cares to listen, e.g. on holiday. The new plates look wonderful and I think the new sizing is an excellent idea as I, personally, have to post all of my cards and it has become so expensive what with needing to protect the card in the post and rising postage costs. I still haven’t found the courage to post my efforts online, but recipients of my cards seem to appreciate my efforts.
Keep up the good work Barb, we really need you at the helm of your wonderful Company, along with Dave, Paul, and your wonderful team.
    Best wishes, Ros x

  36. I remember watching that first groovi program all those years ago and I knew there and then that I wanted to give it a go, so my groovi starter kit is 10 years old and still going strong.
Previously I had been a stamper following Barb in her classroom programs on the tv.. In my 80s now I find groovi so relaxing and mindful a real escape from my carer duties, Groovi plus the accompanying FB groups which are so supportive are just the best.
Thanks and Congratulations to you Barbara and the whole Clarity team for the service you give us xx Annie Mehew

  37. Congratulations! It was good to look back at your blog and to see I was second to comment. As I said then, I’d tried traditional parchment but not really pursued it. I came to the Open Day at Crowborough Rugby Club and saw you demonstrating, you wrote my name in boxes, I still have it. I bought the starter kit there, and all the Spectrum Noir pencils, and it snowballed. No idea how many plates I have but there are a few folders to search through when I’m looking for alternatives for a project! Sometimes can’t believe what I can do now with many thanks to Linda, Paul, Jane and all the design team. Xx

  38. Congratulations on the first 10 years of groovi. I also resisted at first but did a make and take coaster (which I still use) at the NEC, bought the starter kit and was hooked! Here’s to the next 10 years 😀xx

  39. I have been a Groovi fan since the start and still love it. Learnt a lot and still learning. Thank you so much.

  40. Congratulations on Groovi’s tenth anniversary!! I started as a trad parcher in 2014- then I did a Linda Williams workshop in Bristol in 2015 and learnt how to do it properly!!!! The first Groovi plate I bought was the three elephants.
I started buying more Groovi plates during lockdown and was completely hooked by Josie Davidson’s grid plates!!
Enjoy your trip to the States, Barbara- safe journey!

  41. I did try Groovi and I still do some of the simpler stuff (especially love Linda’s penguins) but the complicated stuff like cutting got the better of me, will stick to my limited Groovi repotoire whilst admiring those glorious creations that others do and continue my more messy crafting with suits my messy style. So pleased that Clarity caters for us all so well. What a ten years it has been

  42. I tried traditional parchment but was so pleased when Groovi came out. I still have my blue mat somewhere ! So glad you are still producing beautiful Groovi plates.
    Love and hugs
    Yvonne

  43. Started at Colemans with a work shop with Paul Church and was hooked. really enjoyed the last ten years with groovi also a stamper. Here’s to the next 10 years.

  44. It’s an absolute privilege to be part of the team. It’s been a major part of my life for the past ten years and it brings much so joy into my life. It lifts my heart ❤️

  45. Congratulations on 10 years of Groovi . Although I have dabbled a little in the past, I still prefer stamping, mixed media and getting messy ! I’ll just admire from the sidelines x

  46. I parched before Groovi started but struggled as I had little to no access to other parchers. I came across Groovi a few months after it started, my first plate being a Christmas design.
Clarity opened up a path to knowledge. Thank you. Xxx

  47. These plates look lovely – will have to add to my wish list!

I started with traditional parchment after doing a make & take with a group of friends at a craft show in 2017 and becoming totally hooked. After searching for local workshops to learn more about it, I found Hazel’s Groovi workshops in January 2019 and then the rest is history!

My Mum was a traditional parcher and created many beautiful pieces. When she died in 2012, I gave away a huge box of all her parchment craft supplies to a local art group. I had no interest in parchment myself at the time but how I wished I had hung onto it all later on!

Looking forward to the shows tomorrow xxx

  48. Congratulations on ten years of Groovi,
I had been parching for a few years, and bought the first starter kit and a couple of plates, loved using them and now have several different plate mates and a huge collection of Groovi plates. And will be looking forward to seeing and buying the new plates xx

  49. Happy 10th birthday.
I can’t believe I’ve been Grooving all that time.
I knew nothing of parchment craft before you launched the Groovi system so am very grateful to you and the original team giving me a lovely hobby. I still use the blue mat for perforating (I like the grid lines) and have a good collection of plates and accessories but can always find room for more.

  50. saw a parchment card at a Highland show and thought I would love to be able to do that.
saw an advert in 2011 for a parchment craft magazine and sent off for it.
loved parchment – a cheap craft. one sheet parchment gave me 4 A6 cards. all I needed was a white pencil and embossing tool!
watched the launch of groovi but thought that makes my cheap hobby expensive so wasn’t going to be tempted.
joined the club in 2017 and love it even more as well as everything else Clarity provides to keep us happily crafting. Thank you

  51. loved Groovi from the beginning. I don’t do so much now as wrist injury impedes my creativity. I do however always use it for special wedding anniversary and birthday cards and gifts. Great concept. Well done Barbara xxx

  52. I absolutely love Groovi and have been doing it since I first saw you demonstrate it on the TV. I’ve been a member of the Groovi design club since 2015 and love all the inspiration.
Congratulations on 10 years, here’s to the next 10 with new designs and inspiration from Linda and all the design team members. x

  53. happy 10th anniversary.
I had been a traditional parcher for many years but welcomed Groovi. I e mailed you at the time and made some suggestions because I could see the tremendous benefits. I combine the two , both Groovi and traditional .
you are inspirational. here’s to the next 10 years
    Love Janet

  54. My husband treated me to the starter kit at the launch at Alexander Palace. My addiction has grown. Love the mindfulness of the art. I don’t do the fancy grid work but have combined plates with traditional parchment. Retreats are brilliant. Friends are delighted with my presents of pictures and cards

  55. Three cheers (& lots more too), for you, Dave & the Clarity team. 🥰
I was over the moon when I found you on Create & Craft back in the days when you had the stamp classes on tv and shared the ingredients for your next lesson on the blackboard – I was hooked on all things Clarity from that first viewing ☺️
When I met you for the first time at Ally Pally, it was like chatting to a friend right from the very beginning. I was so chuffed later when you asked me to join your Design Team, and glad I’m still here with you. 🥰
When Groovi came along, not being a trad parcher and never having tried parchment craft before, it took me a while to achieve something that I was proud of, but you saw something in my parchment art and put your trust in me to do parchment samples too.
I’m forever thankful for meeting you Barbara, and hope to follow you & Clarity’s journey for many more years to come!
    Big hugs, Carole P xxx

  56. Congratulations on the 10th Anniversary of Groovi. How lucky we are that you had the vision to bring parchment craft to people who were daunted by the traditional methods. Very many years ago I bought a Pergamano boxed kit. I struggled to get passable results. then along came Groovi! What a wonderful system that can be used by people at all levels of the Groovi journey, with stunning results. I’ve learnt so much from Barbara and her team and love creating special cards. I love the whole process even though I’m a bit slow to get a result!! The whole team at Clarity Towers are second to none. Thank you for all you do to inspire, educate, guide and help us in so many different ways. Everyone of you is our friend, and we are all your friends. What a great group to belong to. If only the whole world could join in with the kindness and love that is shared through ClarityStamp. Thankyou.

  57. Goodness, is it really 10 years since Groovi was launched? Congratulations on such a clever and successful product. I had been attempting parchment the traditional way using paper patterns designed by Tina Cox and Christine Coleman, but like many people found it very difficult to achieve a really professional outline (using a dipping pen with white ink and then embossing tool). I watched your programmes on Create and Craft right from the start and now have a large collection of plates, tools, etc. My parchment results have improved immensely during this time as having a good outline I have been encouraged to hone my embossing, colouring and cutting skills.
    Again, congratulations.

  58. I made my late mum a traditional parchment card that she remade and gave to someone else. Took so long and didn’t really enjoy it. Then I tried Groovi and loved it. The TV demos and the Facebook examples were great. The designs are so useable and I love that there is something for everyone and all levels. Big thanks.

  59. Wow, ten glorious years of Groovi! Unbelievable! As always, Barbara and Team Clarity come up with the unparalleled imagination, innovation and inspiration that allows us Crafters to have fun and be creative! Many congratulations to all at Clarity Towers, and here’s to the next ten years!
As Barbara says when things get a bit stressful or you’re feeling a bit down, get busy with your hands and create some art – you’ll feel so much better!
“Slow down when life’s too fast, you’ve got to let your crafting last,
Just emboss the lines on the plates,
Parching for fun and feeling Groovi!”

    1. I must confess, when Groovi was first launched, I resisted – I didn’t want to start a new craft. The artwork was very beautiful, but this wasn’t for me. What hooked me in was the launch of the Groovi New Design Club, with its Baby Plates – I’m always attracted to mini designs! And the Club was the perfect entry to the craft, such good value and a new treat to look forward to each month. As time went on, I invested in some of the larger plates too, though I still think small is beautiful!
I’ve never done a huge amount of Groovi, as I’m a stamper at heart (instant gratification, less patience required!) but I do find it extremely satisfying (and addictive) – though I know I grip the embossing tool too tightly and always end up with aching fingers and wrist.
After several years of being a member of all four Clubs, financial circumstances required me to “cut my cloth” and reduce down to a single membership, and stamps won out. I still admire all the beautiful artwork from the Groovi stable, and dip in occasionally.
Congratulations on the 10 year anniversary xx

  60. Wow – 10 years already! I remember when you launched Groovi and I bought a starter kit (there’s no way I would have tried traditional parchment craft). I so love the look of parchment designs, but I soon discovered that I don’t have the patience to allow it to rest in between sessions! I’m definitely a stamper at heart but I sit in awe at the amazing creations the parchment design team create!
    Here’s to the next 10 years and beyond…! ❤️

  61. Congratulations to Barbara and the team for 10 years of Groovi, I was a traditional parcher but gave it up several years ago, but when a friend introduced me to Groovi I was hooked. This is my 7th year of being a groovier. Love all the original designs and learn so much from watching Paul, Louise among others. here’s to the next 10 years x

  62. I started parchment by mistake (thought I was going to a traditional card making class as I needed something to relax me and teach me patience) (lol). I did some exams in the craft over the next couple of years. I do recall sending in a comment regarding Groovi on your first show at C&C and saying one of the most important things was the line art which with white pencil tracing on top of the pattern didn’t always come out crisp when you use the traditional method and can spoil the artwork overall. The comment was read and your face beamed as you agreed. I thought this was a critical point that you were trying to get over but as you were not a traditional parcher you hadn’t experienced it really. Having Linda and other ‘Experts’ in this field has blown away in my view any negative feedback that was voiced by traditional parchers initially. I have several sets and have been a Groovi Club member. Still love the designs being produced and all the tutorials and help given by Paul and the team are an added free bonus. You should be really proud of all you have achieved as a company in this area.

  63. Congratulations on your 10th Anniversary! I saw my first Groovi designs at an Open Day. The card had a line of trees and beautiful flowers made from the starter kit. I think it was the whitework which attracted me so much and you showed me how to use the ball tool to do a circle! I still enjoy everything Groovi and am amazed by the different artwork which can be achieved, something to aspire to. Paul showed how to pierce a cross and I found it fascinating and wanted to learn. So I look forward to the next 10 years! With thanks xx

  64. Have been sitting on the Groovi fence for some time, can’t believe it’s 10 years! I make bobbin lace so when I saw the French lace Groovi I felt it was a sign, my birthday treat to me x

  65. So may comments allready. I must admit I have been a hard one to convince, being a tradional parcher and teacher for years, to use groovi plates. 9 Years ago I bought the starter kit, became a clubmember and haven’t looked back since. Now we sometimes use my plates in class combined with traditional parchcraft. So much fun and very relaxing. i have a memory of seeing Paul at a craft show once, either in Holland or Belgium. I heard someone talking English and went to investigate. (we were in Europe on holidays from Australia and happy to hear our language 😀) Anyway, Barbara have a great and safe trip in America with Sam and I am sure you come back with some wonderful inspiration and new ideas. Thank you to a brilliant team of designers and all workers behind the scenes of Clarity. Up to another 10 years of Groovi and Parchment.

  66. Congratulations on 10 years of Groovi. I vividly remember the day you launched it but I find it hard to believe it was ten years ago. It’s such a brilliant system. I had watched some demos of Pergamano and thought I could never do that. But Groovi made it so achievable. I’ve got loads of stuff which I bought in the early days but I confess I’ve mainly gone back to stamping most of the time. I do tend to turn to parchment though for those special cards that I want to personalise.

  67. Hi Barb and Team, congratulations on 10 years of Groovi. I waited a while, then joined the club, but eventually decided it was not my “thing” preferring to stick to stamping, stencilling and dies. I am and will remain as long as possible a club member for stamps and stencils, and still use my die club dies very often. Occasionally I get my Groovi gear out and do a small piece or two. Who knows it may grab me at some future point. The designs are beautiful and the new stamp sampler is lovely. I do hope all the Groovers and Parchers enjoy the 10 year celebrations and specials. Take care everyone. Bx

  68. Hi All

I bought a Traditonal Kit many years ago but without any tuition I could not get on with it. I saw the Groovi starter kit and bought it straight away. I have the old blue mat too but mostly use the Pink one! I love the way my work has progressed and have now been to several Parchment retreats and I craft along with Louise (and formerly Paul) every week. I bought starter kits for two of my grandchildren too and joined the Groovi Club. No shortage of ideas and tips. I have boxes full of cards that I have made. Thanks to all at Clarity. Keep doing what you do.

  69. Well done on reaching a 0th birthday with groovi. I was a traditional parcher for a long time as I could buy things from craft shops, sadly they don’t exist these days. I really love parchment crafts. Hope you have a lovely time in the U.S.A. and get some time to relax and recharge the batteries. keep safe with all the driving.

  70. I started by watching Paul Church on Hochanda and thinking ‘oh I couldn’t be faffed with doing that’. Then I slowly got hooked in and decided one half price sale that if I wanted to try it, now was a good time. I think that was about 6/7 years ago. My little bungalow is bursting at the seams and my Bank Manager tells me I need to rein it in but Clarity continue to develop and develop – who should I listen to????

  71. I started my Groovi journey inCovid Lockdown. A lovely crafting friend bought me a Groovi Club subscription, and I was hooked.
The Clarity community saw so many of us through that awful time.
I had not Parched before so all I achieve now in Parching is thanks to the system and support from Clarity.
I look forward to our next 10 years of crafting together. Thanks Everyone

  72. Hi Barbara
Hope we are not too late to add to the tally. I joined Groovi at the beginning and enjoy it still but my first love is stamping. But I have won a competition with one of my Groovi cards. Bit delayed in responding to this blog but we just got 2 rescue kittens Sox and Scout and have been busy kitten proofing the house.
Glad Groovi was born and continues to grow 🥰
    Love
    Ruth and Jackie xx

  73. Thank you for Groovi Barbara, after being diagnosed with a benign brain tumour I faced 7 hours of surgery and thought O wouldnt be able to craft again. How wrong I was. When I came home I just wanted to try Grooving again. My husband set up the table with my plates so I gave it a go. Yes I was shaky and slow but I did it. Thank you once again . Gill xx
