Rub On Transfers

Rub On Transfers

Hi there.

It’s early Sunday morning, the birds are chattering away outside, and I have been working on the Clarity Club project booklets for June. Those thinking jobs are best tackled first thing in the morning, I find.

We’ve got such a busy couple of weeks ahead too, that I just need to tick a few boxes, to get ahead, to clear the in-tray. You understand. It’s been like this for months, to be honest. And Acceptance is the key. It needs doing, and that’s that.

The blog is another thing on my perpetual list, which seems to get neglected most days. I used to blog every single day. FOR YEARS AND YEARS. I really enjoyed it too. It was an integral part of my daily routine – like brushing my teeth. Although it always took a couple of hours of my time, I enjoyed it. By the way, I don’t spend that much time cleaning my teeth!

But I think it was around when Dad died, there seemed to be a shift in my head. It was like I retreated to the back of a cave, and I only came out when I absolutely had to. I just couldn’t think of anything to say that might enrich your lives – so I didn’t say anything. I could have just stuck to step by steps, and craft instructions, but to be frank, my heart wasn’t in it. I really think that’s how the blog went into decline. I do apologise.

I keep thinking I will snap out of it, and one day I may well wake up and get back in the daily blog saddle. But for now, I just blog when I have the time, the energy, and something positive to tell you.

Like tomorrow. Tomorrow, Paul and I are showcasing something very special, which I think you will really, REALLY like. They finally got delivered on Friday, and we have been putting them through their paces. Oh Boy! Do they elevate your artwork! What am I talking about?

Our brand new RUB-ON SENTIMENT TRANSFERS. 5 sets, each with 3 sheets: one black, one white and one gold. And may I tell you – they are exceptionally good.

Five packs:

  • Birthday Sentiments
  • Christmas Sentiments
  • Anniversary and Wedding Sentiments
  • Friendship Sentiments
  • All Occasion Sentiments

You will notice that they have come in under the Pergamano umbrella. Even though they work on so many other surfaces, like paper, card, fabric, glass, wood, ceramics etc etc etc – they also work BRILLIANTLY on parchment. Which is where I think they will be of the greatest benefit, too.

If you are a parcher, you will know that script on parchment – even with our Groovi plates – is a challenge. So imagine you simply position your script where you want to place it on the front of your work – and burnish to transfer. Done. Honestly. It is perfect.

To see how they are used, tune in at 2pm tomorrow afternoon on Clarity Social TV – Facebook LIVE/Youtube.

For all you early birds, they will be going on SALE on our website later this afternoon. Please note that we don’t make these, so whilst we have plenty of stock now, we can’t easily replenish. We design them, but we get them made abroad. That’s why we have been waiting for them to land.

Available now – Click HERE

Next stop, pottery. Eeek! RAKU!! Bottoms are waxed, the glaze is setting. And then the games begin!!

See you in the SHAC tomorrow at 10am.

Love always,

Barb x x x

  1. Ooh I like a rub on, these look fab. With regard to blogging, things happen don’t they, like you say, and if you’re not up to it that’s ok, when you are we will be here to read it. Difficult to do daily though when it takes up time which is precious. Always love your blogs though and usually check to see if I haven’t missed one !

Just off to visit Mum, who’s in bed most days now, comfy but sleeping most of the time and she’ll probably tell me not to stay as she’s comfy and asleep. The main thing is she’s not in any pain and well looked after. She’s just got frail very quickly.

Enjoy your raku, look forward to the results. Love (and good luck!) to Dave x x

  2. Well I guessed wrong I was thinking new dies!
These look fab, they will soon be in my basket
Whilst I love reading your blog, we all understand stuff gets in the way. If only life would pan out as we planned!

  3. Great addition to all our crafty stash xx
and to quote your words travel gentle even though we need to tick off our to do list.. xx

  4. I am very excited to see the brand new products, it will be so lovely to use them on all variety of parchment, card etc. Years ago when getting into crafting I used rub-ons which were of flowers and swirls and they were so easy to use. As Clarity is always high quality I’m putting them in my basket straight away!
    Take care xx

  5. Please do t worry about the blog we catch up when we can and it’s lovely to hear from you. You have so many plates spinning in the air I am reminded of the variety act from the seventies on Sunday Night at the London Palladium moving from one pole to the other where we were astonished that the crockery didn’t come toppling down. Off to check out the clarity website again…. Can’t make the open days as have to stay close to dad so that’s the next best thing. ,enjoy your pottery

  6. you can only do what you can lovely. don’t knock yourself down , we all do it to are self’s, I was talking to my husband yesterday, and I was saying that , I thought that when I retire we could do this and that . kids left home and time for me and hubby have time for each other . and then 18 months ago I came down with chronic arthritis. in hips and legs and feet . and my hubby has had 2 mini strokes , I looked at him with tears in my eyes , saying how shit our lives are. he disappeared for a while, what I wanted to do was to do go to Scotland on a plane ( never been on a plane or been to Scotland) then take the train to go around the top of Scotland. the take the sleeper train to London, the high tea at Clarages . to see the art deco there . to celebrate my retirement. I was outside when he arrived home and brought outside, Shortcake sandwiches and scones jam and cream, pot of tea . Will this do , I hate to see you upset, we have been together for 36 years . so my day was a good day , not sad as it was started .
    love Pauline Canham.

    1. Well he’s a keeper! What a lovely thoughtful thing to do. Take care of each other and I hope you get your trip to Scotland.

  7. Well Barbara! These are something else! I love em!! They look ace on anything!
If anyone is unsure whether they need them or not, trust me, you do. So many to choose from too.
Don’t delay, get yours today. X
    Enjoy your Raku session.
    Love and hugs. Xxxx

  8. Ooooh – will there be other rub ons in the collection? They’re amazing for adding layers in mixed media or journalling too! What an exciting development x

To be fair Barb, when you were blogging every day you weren’t doing the Shac, or online courses, or Clarity TV!! You’re just one person who has 24 hours in their day, like the rest of us xxx

  9. I wrote a reply first thing and it’s not appeared – I know it said it had to wait approval so trying again. Wont be so long this time !

You shouldn’t feel like blogging everyday – like you say it takes time and that’s precious too! As much as we enjoy them you do so much.

Rubs on look good – must admit I used a peel off on parchment the other day ! I have some rubs on somewhere with flowers and the odd sentiment but not so good as these.

Hope the Raku is doing well, in the earlier reply I said love (and good luck !) to Dave, I hope his eyebrows survive ! Xx

  10. Well…….these look the business. So glad you are doing them in black and white instead of the usual silver and gold – will one sheet of each be enough though, I doubt it which means I’ll just have to order more 😂. We all love your blog but fully understand that it’s not always possible to do it every day as life gets in the way. Hope the firing goes ok xxx

  11. Oh wow! Another new innovative idea from the crafting House of Ideas – Clarity Towers! These are going to be so popular and useful! (Thought I better get an order in early, just in case! 🤣)
Barb, you never need to apologise for missing any Blog, Show or SHAC – we know how busy you are and how full your plate is. We’re very grateful for all that you do and all that you bring our way (even if the bank balance moans every now and then! 🤣) Life gets in the way of what we always want to do, just travel gently, one day at a time, we’ll get there (with waxed bottoms, or not! 😂)
Looking forward to seeing you and Paul put the new goodies through their paces tomorrow. Take care, easy does it. 😊

  12. Hi Barbara,
I like the look of those, very elegant. And they would make any homemade card extra special and give it that WOW factor.
So looking forward to the shac tomorrow and the 2pm show.

I also can’t wait for the open days, I’ll be heading up from Taunton in Somerset on Thursday. Two complete days of fun and laughter, there’s loads of tricks and tips from all the demonstrators and the make and takes are just brilliant. And, the homemade sandwiches are just scrummy….chicken and bacon is an absolute winner….thank you Jazz and Jazz’ Mum.

Sending lots of love and big hugs to you all. Penny xXx

  13. Another great idea from Clarity Towers that I am sure will be well received by the crafting family tomorrow when you & Paul put them through their paces at 2pm. Before that we will be doodling our Wonderful World of W’s. Looking forward to seeing what other w’s we can add to our tryptic. Wishing well, watering can, whispy clouds as you said last week where would we be without the letter W.
Hope the Raku session was a success with lots of nice surprises. The weather here is mixed today, sunny but not too hot as there is a bit of a breeze.

  14. I think you are amazing how you juggle so many spinning plates and am sure we all understand if we don’t get to read a Blog everyday. We just need for you to stay well we already have so much of your time in all the lovely Shac lives, You Tubes to name just a tip of a catalogue of tips, tricks you have shared with us. Looking forward to tomorrow show and again another amazing Clarity product.

  15. Dear Barb, you do so much already to keep us crafting and inspired. I love your blog, but you also need downtime and to step away sometimes. And the thing is, when you do blog, you often include something very tempting! Guess what just fell in my basket. I do love a good rub-on, so it had to be bought. Take care, and I hope the Raku session went well. Cold today, somebody forget to tell the weather it is nearly summer. Bx

  16. I’m somewhat late coming to this blog as I missed seeing it yesterday. Regarding the rub on’s, BRILLIANT idea. Placed an order immediately.
For the last three weeks I have been in so much pain I couldn’t think straight but I had treatment on Friday, 2 days rest and woke up this morning pain free and raring to go. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and I felt great and glad o be alive. My mojo resurfaced and I got cracking on some Groovi this afternoon. Loved the plate that came with the club package.
Try to get in some relaxation with Dave, work is important but it is not all there is and you have to great backup team.
    Hugs to all.
