Sam’s Papers and a real Tree-t!
Hi there
If you watched our Clarity TV today at 10 and 2, then you will have seen us lauding the praises of our Sam’s fabulous Mixed Media papers. They really work well with the new Landscape masks. Look! You can get three whole sets for less than a tenner, plus club discount. HERE

I found a particularly effective little section of one sheet, which worked a Tree-t with the masks. Here’s a photo step-by-step…
- Cut this piece into quarters, then look for the row of trees….
- Add the Hilltop mask to the little piece, so that the dark green “row of trees” sits above the skyline of the mask.
- Start removing sections of the mask, adding colour with Spot-on Sponges. I used Archival Plum and Library Green
- Tackle each field section at a time, replacing the masks as you work your way down the landscape.

Add a little pink around the little moon. You can see in the photo below, which colours and whick inks I used.

This is where we are headed. Rolling hills, all shaded with the same colours. The grungy background from the paper is so effective. Now this is where we use the new stamps, to add the narrative. Let’s look at the stamps a little more closely...HERE

See those tiny trees at the top of the set? Let’s add them in black, into the tree copse, to add the tree trunks. Then use the other stamps to add perspective, larger trees to the front, and smaller elements to the back. Check out the tenny weeny cottage on the brow of the hill! It’s all a matter of perspective.

Mat and layer up the topper on white card or paper. Then mat and layer up on a matching paper, which sports those fab white tracklines. Mount on an 8”x 8” white cardblank.
Using black Archival ink, add the lovely sentiment from the new stampset into one of the fields, then perch the robin on the “H”.

LIttle grey pencil to colour in the cottage, and you’re done. Enjoyable to do. Very enjoyable. The tiny stamps are delightful to use. Have fun!
Love always

Absolutely brilliant shows today, Barb, packed with so much inspiration and imagination. I’m still buzzing and really looking forward to having a play with the new stamps and masks. Clarity’s stamp masks have always been a game changer but your new landscape/treescape masks have taken them to a whole new height. So innovative, so clever. Today’s shows were real Masterclasses in creating beautiful pieces of artwork – thank you. Hope you have a relaxing weekend. Take it easy and travel gently. 😊
Fabulous shows again today – watched on catch up. Wow, Barbara all the inspiration you shared with the tips and tricks is amazing and appreciated. The art you created is spectacular. Thank you for showcasing Sam’s papers – I missed seeing these before – at first today when I saw them I thought they were a new item- obviously not.
Incredible when you shared that you created trees with part of the design on Sam’s paper – so impressive. I continue to learn from your talents and have a long way to go but continue playing and creating. The masks are brillant. Thank you for sharing the story about Eileen telling you that you o go back to creating Landscapes. Today, you looked and sounded excited as you shared the conversation you had with Eileen. A huge thank you to Eileen for being such an incredible friend supporting you and sharing her thoughts to help you – well done Eileen.
Great shows today, added some of the new products to my stash & look forward to playing with them when they arrive x
Morning Barb, loved the shows, so much inspiration from the demos and the DT samples. You know the saying “Resistance is futile”? Well that applies to me trying to resist buying any more craft stash! Can’t wait for my order to arrive. Take care everyone. Bx
Watched the first show back this morning – brilliant! I have those papers in my stash too … haven’t sorted the papers yet, but I know where the stamps are 😂
Great shows yesterday, not placed a order yet, trying to be good for the rest of the month, although I am tempted! Thank you for the step by step pictures. xx
Had to watch on catch up, due to Grandma baby sitting duties. Catch up is such a great facility. Really, really loved the shows and many thanks to Eileen for re- focusing you on what you do, and always have done best, landscapes. I’ll never forget how blown away TV was when you produced a landscape with just ink and torn paper (those were the days) xxxx
