Oranges and Lemons? Sounds a bit fishy!

Oranges and Lemons? Sounds a bit fishy!

Hi there

Apologies for not writing for a week! The days have been so busy, with the Members’ Sale and all the Clarity TV shows we did, to shine a light on various stamps and stash in the sale, that I really didn’t have any steam left by the time I got home! But the sale has been very popular – thanks to your loyal custom – and now we focus on getting all those orders picked and packed. Please bear with us while we make and do. Please be patient. We are working as fast as we can, and getting impatient or shirty with us neither helps nor speeds things up. In fact, it slows us down. Actually, there is still time before midnight tonight, to put in an order if you haven’t, or have another little looksie.

In addition to the Sale. All the pre-ordered brushed were sent out yesterday, so keep an eye out for them if you pre-ordered them.

So what have I been up to? Well, I am doing some planning and prep around a series of online 1-2-3 courses that I want to head up in March. More will be revealed as soon as I have finalised a cool plan. This stuff takes time, but I am getting there. No rush, eh. We have to pace ourselves if we are going to stay the course. Hahaha. Forgive the pun! In case you aren’t aware, we have developed a super Inner Circle Platform, which is specifically intended for online courses and workshops.

At the end of last year, I hosted two online Paper Collage classes, which went down very well. The pre-recorder classes are still available on our website

Dave is having a knee replacement surgery next week (yikes), so I will step back for a week at least, and be his own personal Florence. That should get him up and out faster than anything!! I am no nurse, but I will do my best to be one for him. And I‘m hoping I will be able to concentrate on the courses then too. So if you wonder where I’ve disappeared to, just think of me in a tidy little nurses outfit, making cups of tea and fluffing his pillows!! Never heard it called that before, he said…

I did go off piste this afternoon, whilst working on a Gelpress project…

I had some fun with the netting from a bag of oranges I hung onto…and the mini Gelpress. CLICK HERE TO FIND

Then I reached for Sam Crowe’s fabulous fishies, chopped them up, splash of colour and served on a black plate…

So yes. Hang onto the lemon nets or the mandarine nets! They are perfect for mark-making. That will be part of the course too: lots of different mark-making tricks and techniques.

Have a lovely evening. And don’t forget! Sale ends at midnight. Or thereabouts. Looking for the fishies?

Sam’s Gone Fishing. Stamps Half price if you’re in the club. That’s a tenner then.

Love always,

Barb x x x

There‘s Method in the Madness. That Quote stamps comes from one of our Poster Quote sets…also half price till midnight. That’s £7.50 a stampset then…BARGINNNNNN!

  1. Love the use of the mandarin net! The fishes look great too!
Hope all goes well with Dave for next week! Hope Dave likes his pillows fluffed! Haha.

  2. Wooahhh. Poor Dave, but he will really appreciate you being there (how does she know this?) he will also have the little vikings ‘helping’ I’m sure.
Speaking of….it’s viking week in York this week – burning boats an’ all.
And, while I’m here, please look at Lin Taylor’s art page on Facebook (/LinTaylorArt. I know you will get loads of ideas to play with!! I did.
Love to Dave – we farmers have to stick together.
    Maggie (York UK)

  3. Hope all goes well Dave, Hope you have a speedy recovery with the help of your personal nurse.

Might have another look at the sale , my last order is on its way but there’s always more needed 🥰.

All your plans Barbara sound exciting, just hope my more difficult life with mum lets me join in, especially the open days. 😱

  4. Do hope Dave’s knee replacement goes ok. Speaking from experience (I’ve had both of them done) The first 3 months are the most painful. You really question why you have had it done!! You have to do so many excercises, so persevere and he will be able to straighten and bend the knee and life will be easier! Loved all your Clarity TV sales shows – it’s good to be reminded of all the past tricks and tips – it has whetted my appetite once again. So thank you. Looking forward to all the goodies arriving. Do take a rest from all the work – Dave will need you more than he thinks.

  5. Life isn’t a race, just take care of yourselves. Hope the op goes well and we will see you at the other side of your nursing ministrations.

  6. Hope Dave’s surgery goes well. I’m sure you will be an excellent nurse and pillow fluffer! I have quite a collection of orange nets which I kept just in case (along with lots of random bits and pieces) My husband now asks ” do you want this for crafting?” before he recycles or throws anything away. I knew the years of training would pay off eventually! LOL

  7. Patience is something I have in spades these days. Try not to worry and take each day as it comes. It is so nice when the deliveries arrive earlier than expected. Your team do a great job. I’ve had so much fun this week sorting out my first mega sale deliveries, and happy to wait for the rest.
I do hope all goes well for Dave, nurse him well and he will be chasing you round the garden very soon.
    Take care of yourself too.
    Hugs.

  8. Good luck Dave for the op, it’ll be well worth it but make sure you do the exercises. Funny about the nets Barb. I’ve saved mine for exactly that. It’s surprising what good we can find in so-called rubbish. Take care both of you and take time to rest

  9. Wishing Dave all the best for next week & hoping it all goes well. I’m sure you will do a grand job of looking after him. xxx

  10. No need for apologies Barb, with all that’s going on at Clarity Towers at the moment it’s not surprising you haven’t had time to pen your Blog. Like all Clarity goodies, your Blog is worth waiting for! I did manage to pop in a last little Sale order earlier, then had the lovely emails to say one or two previous orders were on their way! I hope all goes well for Dave’s op, and hopefully your “pillow fluffing” will have him back on his feet nice and quick! When you said you’d be Dave’s “Florence”, I immediately thought of The Magic Roundabout Florence! Which would make Dave – “Dylan” as they both play the guitar! 🤣
I should have realised you meant Nurse Nightingale, as your old school, Fort Pitt, used to be her old hospital!
Looking forward to hearing more about the “March” online courses and being with you tomorrow for another magic Moment of Clarity!
    Sam’s little fishy
    Looking very dishy
When the Gel plates come in! 🤣

  11. Lovely artwork, as always!

Please take care though Barbara, I am concerned that you are pushing yourself too far too hard too fast too much. Remember to travel gently and stop to smell the roses/hug a cat/Dave……..

  12. I hope Dave’s operation goes well and he is a good patient. I hope you can take a little time for yourself, you have been so busy steering Clarity through the storm. I for one am happy to wait for my orders, being quite new to Clarity I have enjoyed all the showcasing and have treated myself to a lovely selection of goodies.

  13. I did another little order today, temptation was calling!! Best wishes to Dave, hope his op goes well, and you both take care, and travel very gently. xx

  14. Hope all goes well for Dave with his op next week & that he follows the instructions for his recuperation. The slower life for a few days will do you both good so let the team take the reins & you concentrate on Dave.
Meanwhile I am looking forward to the craft along tomorrow night & finding out more about the new online classes in March.
take care – there are only 24 hours in the day & some of those are meant for sleeping xx

  15. Best wishes to Dave for his knee op. A bit of R&R will be good for you both. Although, with a patient to look after, you may have a bit of running around to do.
    xx

  16. Hi Barb, please wish Dave everything of the best for next week and for a speedy recovery. I am sure he will appreciate your care, and the “fluffing of his pillows”. I love using net on the Gel press plates, looks great with the minis. Please also take care of yourself, you, Paul and the team have really pulled out all the stops with the sale. I dare not tell hubs how much I spent in total :-). Take care everyone, have a great day. Bx

  17. Hi Barbara,.hope all goes well for Dave and his new knee. With you looking after him and Dave doing his exercises he will be up and about in no time. Try not to burn the candle at both ends as things catch up with you and hit you like a sledgehammer. Looking forward to my sale goodies. Busy crafting as got loads of things to do. Take time for both of you xx

  18. Lovely to hear from you Barbara but please don’t push yourself too hard. I know that is easier said than done when you have the business to run. I hope all goes well for Dave, and as an ex orthopaedic nurse, it is important he does the exercises he is given. Good luck with the nursing. Thank you for my lovely parcel which arrived.yesterday, and also for all your wonderful tuition. Please look after yourself. Love Sue xxx

  19. Wishing Dave all the best for his op take care of yourselves too . Love the artwork I
Love Sam’s fish stamps but the orange bag idea is genius

  20. Sending Dave lots of good wishes for his knee op next week. I just know he’ll receive the best care possible from you. Take this time for you both to catch your breath, Paul and all at Team Clarity will have your back (or in Dave’s case, his knee 🤣) Just like you, they are all brill. xXx

  21. I meant to say I was reading an article about knee replacement surgery and there’s a new ‘pain killer’ they are trialing which is quite successful. Apparently at the operation they insert a ‘thin sheet of pain killer’ in the operation site which slow releases and those on it have hardly needed any extra pain relief. Sounds a win win to me. Probably still on trial but Dave could mention it just in case !

  22. Hi Barb. Good news on Dave’s knee op.
Better news is that you’re stepping back to help him, therefore you will have time to re boot!
I was worried you were doing too much. Rest with Dave while you can. (Apart from writing down ideas!)
Good luck to Dave for a speedy recovery and a refreshed Barb! X

  23. Thank you for more fabulous inspiration, Barb – and it’s always worth waiting for! Great news that Dave is getting his knee surgery – hopefully he’ll feel a massive benefit afterwards. Happy to offer you mentoring on your bedside techniques if needed… 🤣🤪
No time like the present to take your own advice – travel gently, one day at a time xxx

  24. I feel tired even thinking of all the things you’re doing at the moment! talk about spinning plates! – It is very much appreciated, I am sure, not just by me but everyone and anyone in your world of art and busy life. The inspiration you have given us is just simply amazing, so thank you! – I hope Daves op goes well and he is up and running 🏃‍♀️ with no problems very soon! 😘 x

  25. I love that collection by Sam! Just brilliant and I’m excited that the next craft along will be gel press related!!!
Good luck Dave with the knee surgery and rehab afterwards – and I’m sure Barb will look after you really well x
