A Wreath and a Limerick?
Hi there
Busy Monday at Clarity! After a very successful Sunday show yesterday, and a brilliant response to our new Clarity Stamp pens, it was heads down and get them orders filled today!
Thing is, once we get home and eat, Dave and I are pretty much done in. That’s it for today. I really ought to take down the Christmas decorations this evening – bad luck n all that jazz – maybe later on, after I’ve let me tea go down!
I did a number of quick and simple demos yesterday, but I do want to show the small lilac and blue wreaths in a step by step here, which I didn’t do LIVE, so you get a close up build up of how easy it is to use those stamp pens and those fabulous little floral stamps that Jazz designed. Also, it really ties in with what we talked about this afternoon, about the small art, the mini makes, and the new Clarity Crafts Mini Makes & ATCs Facebook group. Check it out. Loads of people joined today, so clearly we struck a chord.
We’ll have a little competition, too, so pay attention! Hahaha
Step 1. First, pick your card size, to limit the size of your wreath, then draw around something round with a pencil. I started out with a 3.5 inch square piece of stencil card.
Next step. Mount a little flower on a stamp pen, and decided what colour you want to print it. Ink it up in the ink pad, then stamp it two or three times around the pencil circle. First or second generation ink is good.
Pick another stamp, another colour, load your stamp pen, and add a few more blooms around the pencil line. Don’t worry about overlapping either; Overlapping is good! If the colour is too dark for your taste, but you like the tone, then blot on a Spot-on Sponge before you plant on the pencil line. Gives you a different shade of the same tone.
Same again. Different colour, pick some foliage this time. Blend colours to give variations too.
More flowers and a different colour again, methinks…ah yes. A flash of pink.
Still a few gaps to fill. Pick yet another colour and another flower…
And so it goes on. Pick your flowers, pick your colours – mount the mini stamps on your stamp pens – and build your wreath. It’s that simple!
When the ink is dry, rub out the pencil circle guide. Done. And the thing is, you can always add more tiny elements if you fancy, or if you think your wreath needs balancing.
All in all, a smashing yet super simple idea, which is appealing to the young and young at heart, to clean and tidy crafters, to messy mixed media artists. It just refreshingly pleasant to do. And there are SO MANY ALTERNATIVES TO WREATHS!! Watch this space…
Right. Competition time. Fancy a £20 Gift Voucher? If you want to be in a draw to win a Clarity Gift Voucher, then finish the limerick below! Hahaha. Oh it’s been a while since we had a limerick competition!
Ready?

Hi Barbara,
What an absolutely brilliant invention the stamp pens are, and those tiny weenie stamps are so cute. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s shows.
Here’s my limerick offer….
There once was a fella called Keith
Who wanted to make a big wreath
He knew Clarity Stamps had the best shows
And Create and Craft was a no no
So he placed his order post haste for Kiss wreath’s

Hello Barb, love the step by step, I guess these stamp pens are a real game changer. Here is my limerick,
There once was a fella called Keith
Who wanted to make a big wreath
He decided to finish
And with arty relief
Set it afloat from the port of Leith!
The others are so good, good luck everyone. Stay warm, it’s cold and frosty this morning. Bx
There once was a fella called Keith,
Who wanted to make a big wreath,
But the stamps were so small,
He couldn’t do it at all,
But his tiny one was perfect, said Keith.
There once was a fella called Keith
Who wanted to make a big wreath
He stamped and he stamped with flower and leaf
And much to his surprise appeared a wreath.
🤣
Haven’t written a limerick since school, so thought I give it a go. Just like crafting the more I do the better I’ll get.
Definitely room for improvement.
😂 xx
Here goes
There once was a fella called Keith,
Who wanted to make a big wreath,
He made a big ring,
Covered it in string,
And cut the end with his teeth.
Thanks Barbara not really my forte but it made me smile. Looking forward to buying the new stamp pens, next month though lucky me has a cot to buy this month.
Me again. My husband, Simon, likes writing a Limerick (he writes several verses for our grandsons on their birthdays every year) so here is his attempt:
There once was a fella called Keith
Who wanted to make a big wreath
He thought that this action
Would bring satisfaction
For Keith was better known as ‘Keef’.
Oh well – he thought it funny and shows his age.
Love reading everyone’s limericks – here’s my attempts
There once was a fella called Keith
Who wanted to make a big wreath
The flowers he used
Were battered and bruised
And had died before the deceased!
There once was a fella called Keith
Who wanted to make a big wreath
He tweaked and he snipped
Fell over and tripped but luckily
His knife was still in his sheath!
There once was a fella called Keith,
Who wanted to make a big wreath,
But he mounted a ramp instead of a stamp
and ended up splat in a heap !
Well done to all above….you ‘ve brightened my day! x
Here we go ..
There once was a fella called Keith,
Who wanted to make a big wreath.
On his circle, he stamped it with small leaves and flowers…..
Surprisingly, not taking too many hours.
On his card he used the new wonderful Dave’s pen…
Then signed it and sent it …with love to Ken!!! 💗
There once was a fella called Keith,
Who wanted to make a big wreath,
He went to Ellon,
And sat on a melon,
And the wreath got squashed underneath!
There once was a fella called Keith,
Who wanted to make a big wreath,
He got our his pencil,
Inks, paper and stencil,
creating an art masterpiece.
There once was a fella called Keith
Who wanted to make a big wreath
He gathered lots of holly
In a supermarket trolly
Then carefully arranged every leaf.
Or
There once was a fella called Keith
Who wanted to make a big wreath
He made it of cake
Which proved a mistake
As it was eaten by Paul & Prue Leith
I’ll let you decide which Paul it was!

*I’ll let you decide which Paul
There once was a fella named Keith
Who wanted to make a big wreath
He sucked in his teeth
And had the belief
He’d make a jolly good wreath
Been busy catching up with Sunday’s events after having my own new arrival at the weekend! I absolutely love these mini stamps – I haven’t stopped building wreaths (and other little scenes) since they first arrived in my DT package!
Loving all the limericks! No head space to contribute one myself I’m afraid – off for more cuddles with my little chap this afternoon
Here’s my best and ‘cleanest’ effort for the limerick.
There once was a fella called Keith
Who wanted to make a big wreath
He had nothing from Clarity
So, to much hilarity
He took out and used his false teeth.
There once was a fella called Keith
Who wanted to make a big wreath
So he turned to his faves…….
Who were Barb, Paul & Dave
Now he’s mortgaged right up to his teeth
Ha ha don’t mean it!! Struggled to get anything to rhyme!!
There once was a fella called Keith
Who wanted to make a big wreath
He extracted his pencil
A useful utensil
The result was a kick in the teeth
Sorry, blame it on my fractured wrist. X
