Bittuvascramble

Hi there

Sorry I’ve been AWOL. It’s a bit of a scramble right now, friends. Since Create & Craft folded, we have been pedal to the metal here at Clarity! Firstly, we had to focus all our attention and transfer all our energy to our own little TV channel, in a bid to keep going. If you are on Facebook at all, you will have seen that loads of suppliers and presenters were on the move almost instantly. Totally get it. They had to find work, right? We decided to try it alone; see whether we could build our own arc, so to speak. If you never try, you’ll never know. We’re about 3 weeks in – and so far so good! But since we are going live weekly, every Monday, Tuesday and Friday at 10am and 2pm, it’s a lot !

Added to that, Our Clarity Christmas Open Days took place about a week after they went into administration, and that requires a helluvalot of planning and organising! Hats off to the whole team for making it a success. My guess is Sue took these pics xx Thanks Sue 🥰

We even managed to recruit a Clarity Choir, to head up the hourly carols. Mulled wine was flowing, and we ate hundreds of mince pies! Hundreds! It was actually delightful. I loved it! Switched off from all the rubbish which was rumbling around in the business background, and just settled in to a loving weekend with the Clarity family. Apologies for not reporting back here, with photos and fun, but we rolled straight into the Sunday workshop, so I didn’t draw breathe, let alone have time to build a blog here.

I know, as soon as I sit down to blog, that about 2 hours will roll by before it is ready to post. I may just sit in front of the TV for 2 hours of an evening, but trust me – by 7pm I am absolutely cream crackered and fit to drop. Ask me if I’m doing any pottery, I dare you! I’m in the office every day, bouncing between the design department, the accounts department and the TV studio. The team will tell you! I’m pretty full on at the moment, a bit bossy to be honest. I know it, and I don‘t relish it, but I have to be if we’re going to make this work. There’s simply no time for banter and play right now! They’re all just jumping to it, getting things done quickly and efficiently (What they say about me behind my back is really none of my business). But thank goodness for a Can-Do team!

Like today. I had an idea for a new product very early this morning. (Just before it gets light. That is the BEST time for good ideas!) Shared it with Lisa, who jumped to it straightaway. By lunchtime she already had the first prototypes for us to all look at. We tweaked and discussed as a whole design team, and by the end of the day, we’d nailed it. The prototypes are ready for us to put through their paces first thing tomorrow. THEY LOOK AMAZING!!! In the meantime, I was working with Paul and Stuart on TV production and marketing of said new idea, which is set to launch – wait for it – this coming Friday!! Not only the product and its packaging have to be in place; e-shots and product photography have to be set, loaded onto the website. There won’t be time to send off to our DT, the sample makers, so Paul and I will have to prep together some time between now and Friday. There‘s so much to consider. There always was, but now it just feels more urgent, because we’re flying solo and flying often.

So yeah. Not much time or energy for a blog, I’m afraid. But today was such a good, wholesome, creative day! Oh. Added to which we did 2 hours of LIVE TV! Paul did Groovi Tuesday, and then we both showcased a set of brand new Groovi plates by Linda Williams. Yes. It’s a lot.

But wait till you see what we’ve rustled up for you on Friday!! Honestly! We are all pretty chuffed – especially me!!

And that‘s what makes it all worthwhile. Now I just hope you love it as much as we do! It’s exciting to think you can have an idea in the morning, and it be going into scalable production by the same time tomorrow. By scalable I mean we can make a dozen, a hundred or a thousand. And that, my friends, is the mark of a good team. They have the ability, as a team, to perform really well and maintain top quality even when the workload expands.

Gotta go and stop thinking. Rest the head. Pause the Gray Matter. Just for an hour or so.

One more thing…we have been nominated (by your good selves) for no less than 5 awards in 5 different categories! Huge thanks to you for getting us this far! Now it’s time to vote for us. Here’s the LINK

We sure would appreciate your time. I must say, it has done us the power of good to even be recognised in the nomination list. After over thirty years, you do sometimes have to wonder whether you haven’t outstayed your welcome. But here she still is!! And here they still are! Hahahaha. There’s still life in the old nag yet!!

Love always,

Barb

Very intrigued as to what you have to show us on Friday can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve. What a marvellous group of people you have around you.xx

  2. Barbara we all know how much you and the wonderful team are pedalling away, please do not apologise for your absence with your daily blog, we all understand and would rather you took time for yourself than write to us at the moment.

    Looking forward to Friday!
    Take care of yourself

  3. Voted days ago of course!! Cant wait to see what you have in store for us all on Friday! Loving the clarity tv, you two are such a tonic together and although very professional, far more human than when you were all on create and craft, I have to say I for one enjoy it more. I know you are all very busy, but please do find some time for yourself to chill out. Take care xxx

  4. hi Barbara,
Wow, your blog today certainly made up for all the missed blog days. Exiting things coming!!!!
Looking forward to the new design. You would have my vote definitely in all categories, but living outside Uk its not possible to vote. 👍👍👍

  5. Good evening, I cannot believe that my order has been fulfilled today, when I only ordered something yesterday. Thank you so much everyone at Clarity, you are the BEST. Xx

    1. Yes they are marvellous, i ordered on Sunday , had to change it on Monday, received the order on Tuesday. That is truly amazing . Thankyou Clarity and Barbara Wow.

  6. I am loving Clarity TV.spent a great afternoon catching up on yesterday’s show which I was unable to watch live as hubby was at the hospital for a lung biopsy. He slept fr most of today so I was able to watch today’s show too. I placed an order for more than anticipated as it was all so tempting.
Voted for Clarity in the nominations and have my fingers and toes crossed that you win all sections.
The Friday shows sound exciting so see you there.

  7. Voted, of course. Good Luck .
Please take some time for you and Dave, your loyal customers will understand . You all work so hard and I look forward to time to catch up on the programmes. Loved the open day as did the car full. ❤️

  9. Excited to see what Friday brings! Might just need to treat myself after my follow-up appointment with my consultant. I’ve voted, so wishing you all the luck for the awards xx

  10. Hi Barb,
Votes put in last week and fingers crossed you win. You deserve a reward. The open day and workshop was fab and my landscape stamps and masks arrived today ( while I was watching you and Paul this afternoon) so I can’t wait to try out some new ideas.
I am very intrigued by what you have in store for us on Friday, no doubt it will find its way into my basket, along with the lovely Jayne Nestorenko stamps you launched on Monday. Always remember there are loads of us right behind the whole Clarity team.
    Sending love
    Zara xx

  11. I have voted already!
It all sounds very exciting what you have in store for us on Friday……!
Thank you to all the Clarity team for everything you do – we appreciate you all very much! I really enjoyed the open day – so much fun and I learnt so much too! Lots of inspiration and ideas, just not enough time …..
Please take care of yourself Barbara, remember to pause and hug a cat and Dave!!!🐈

  12. Hi Barbara, no need to apologise for not doing the blog, those who truly follow you, Paul & the Clarity team will be only too aware of the hours you are all putting in to keep the boat afloat. I love the banter between you & Paul which makes for great demos but also the chat amongst those watching. I hope you manage to look back through the comments as Ken was busy writing more ditties today. The Clarity family is growing fast but its a great community.
I have made 30 mini crackers this afternoon with a chocolate Father Christmas inside for the Christmas Fayre at church. My next task is to make 40 mini cubes with Paul’s favourite posh chocolate inside to go on the tables at the Christmas lunch for the club my mom goes to each Wednesday.
Just remember to have some chill out time for yourself & Dave xx

  13. Voted already, Will need to catch up with todays show, as working today. Looking forward to Fridays shows, trying to make up my mind what I would like to order, and what has to go onto my wish list which seems to get longer by the day. Love the Clarity tv, but please try to make time for yourself, it’s quite understandable that you haven’t time to do your blog. You and your brilliant team have a lot going on. Take care. xxx

  14. So looking forward to new delights on Friday. Clarity TV is so much fun to watch, and fab to have it easily available whenever we want to watch again.
You and the team are doing an amazing job at keeping the ship afloat, but don’t forget to look after yourself in the midst of all the mayhem!

  15. Phew ! Do you think you could wait a couple of weeks before the next new idea so I can save up 😹 I’ve got an order arriving tomorrow (probably!) and another one placed today, I can’t keep up! Now you have me wondering what you have in store for us on Friday. I had Groovi and stamps on the table this morning and the man fitting the stair carpet was interested. He said his wife made cards but usually out of cards she’d received so I’m going to send her the link to watch you !

Already voted once we were able so that’s one of my jobs done, but have a load of birthdays in Dec and need to get on with the Christmas cards so the little Jayne Nestorenko squares in stamps and Groovi are a godsend ! The little owl is on his way and the angels, heaven knows when I’m going to fit them in but want an angel for my tree.

Don’t feel you have to blog everyday, travel gently as you tell us. Glad you have a great team behind you! X

  16. WOW Barbara what a blog and a half!! thank you so very much. Even when your back is against the wall you still insist on make time for us. Please, please make time for you and Dave too, that’s even more invaluable and important, now more than ever.

I’ve already cast my vote, I did it as soon as it was open. If there’s any justice you’ll knock it out of the park.

I’m still reeling from the open days what brilliant days they were. I was lucky enough to win your beautiful pinky gray box of cards and sentiments in the raffle. I already had six of your cards framed on my craft room wall, I’d purchased them at the June open days. Now I have a whole wall covered in them. They are such beautiful artwork and a great inspiration for me to aspire too. I also joined the Groovi club when I was at the open days and my 1st club package arrived yesterday.

Thank you team clarity you really are the best, can’t wait for Friday xXx

  17. Voted last week of course. My I am tired out just reading your blog. You are all so busy and as much as we love seeing the wonderful demonstrations on Clarity TV please all take care of yourselves too. As much as we love your products we love you all too so please take care xxxxx

  18. Wow……what a mammoth blog but very much appreciated. I voted as soon as it was open and have everything crossed that you win as no-one deserves to more than you. Of course your being a bit bossy at the moment a) because you are the boss and b) because if the Captain didn’t do his job during a mighty storm at sea the boat and all its cargo, crew and passengers would sink never to be seen again. Just remember however to take care of yourself, you don’t want a repeat performance of your hospitalisation do you. Take care xxx

  19. Dear Barb, I have no idea how you do it, keep going with everything and still stay upright. You are a phenomenal force to say the least. I am sure the entire team is behind you, because they know how much effort is needed to make it work. Saying that you must still take a break and rest, otherwise you will not be able to inspire us so much. I do look forward to your shows, and always love seeing the demos and new products, and reading the blog, but would also rather you are well, so if something is a bit delayed or slower or not very regular, so be it. Please take care of yourselves, all of the Clarity team and family. Off to vote. Stay warm everyone. Bx

  20. Wow, that was a blog and a half. I think anyone who really is invested in Clarity knows how the whole team have pulled together to weather this storm. As has been said though, please make sure everyone (including you) takes time to care for yourselves or you will burn out or become so run down be susceptible to illness. Sorry this is a bit gloomy to read but you know it in your heart that it’s a fact. Whilst you get the ship in calmer waters something has to give and if, for a while, until you get into a smoother rhythm this is the blog, then so be it. As a good old friend of mine says ‘enough said’ on this subject. Loving the new shows and the banter between you and Paul. Voted days ago!

  21. I cannot believe all the ideas you come up with and the speed at which you get them actioned. What a wonderful team you are, all working together. Your TV channel is wonderful and so watchable and amusing.

    Thank you Clarity

  22. Voted last week so fingers crossed. Quite understand about the blog – not enough hours in a day to do everything after all you do already. But please please please take some time off for yourself and Dave.
    Take care.

  23. Voted already. I love the tv shows you are doing from Clarity Towers. Free from interruption’s which means more time for you to show your product.
    Do take care of yourself.

  24. Hi Barb
I voted last week, good luck with the voting. I watched the programmes yesterday. I used the snowflake owl last Christmas, but will use the shaders in future having seen demos. I have ordered Linda’s floral plate bundle. Your banter with Paul is so funny at times, and we can see how the Team is supporting you with excellent samples made with your amazing products and getting orders out to us speedily. I cried when I saw you crack when demoing last week whilst singing the praises of your craft, and can only imagine how stressful your life is right now.
I love all things Clarity and wish all who contribute to its success good health. I am all set to watch Friday’s programmes. I wish you good health and all the luck in the world.
    Ros 💖

  25. This is a mighty Blog and I’m sure most of us reading it will be aware of the storm that has hit Clarity and other craft companies. you and your team are doing so much and so well, that something needed to give, and we don’t want it to be you. I’m enjoying your post C & C shows, wonderful Demo lists and your regular SHAC sessions so much. Looking forward to Friday and seeing your new ideas and products. Take care of yourself as well as your team and your wonderful busines.x

  26. Voted earlier in the week. Love your TV shows, so much fun and laughter. You don’t need to worry about blogging, we all understand how manic it must be at Clarity Towers. Take time out and look after yourself and the team and Dave. Will be watching on Friday. Take care. xx

  27. Barb
Your sneaky peeks of Friday’s new items makes me think I must watch the shows for they are just what I need! Being a new granny to two young brothers my daughter and her wife adopted last year, I’m now on the look out for child themed goodies. Your elf and gnome stickers are perfect for the exploding boxes in the 2 advent boxes I’ve been making. The adhesive backed felt squares die cut easily into lots of shapes.
And now I can catch up and watch your shows at anytime!
Thanks to your Clarity team who sent me a beautiful birthday card. You are all working so hard keeping the Clarity ship afloat. Take care and stay safe. Susan.
    Now off to vote!

  28. Wow – just everything that everyone else has just said here Barb! You and Dave and your amazing team are second to none. Thankyou so much for all you do and are.
Big love to you all Rosemary xxx

  29. I much prefer Clarity TV to C & C. You have more time for chat and the demos which makes for a much more entertaining and informative watch. 😊 I cracked up laughing at yours and Paul’s hilarity when talking about Groovi tool number ones and number twos on Tuesday. Sooooo funny! 🤣 🤣
I can’t watch live on Friday unfortunately, but I’ll definitely watch on catch up.
I love your ‘The night before Christmas’ range. I’m pretty sure that I’ll be putting Friday’s products on my Christmas wish list!
    Take care, Jane xx 🌸🌼🌺

  30. Voted as soon as opened, keeping everything crossed. Exhausted just reading your blog. Appreciate everything you do. Excited for Friday
