Everybody’s got Something

Everybody’s got Something

Hi there

thanks for popping in. Long days, longer nights. But so many wonderful people, nurse, doctors, porters.

There’s no bed free in the respiratory wing, so I am in the Acute Medical something x this is the staging place in between A&E and a ward. Clearly, there is huge traffic through here, but it also means you meet lots of poorly people.

quote for today

Everybody’s got something.

Am I getting better? According to the Doctors, the pneumonia is pretty bad and it will take a long time

Ah well. It is what it is x

love always

  1. Barbara sweetheart, time is what you need right now, you have been under so much pressure. So frustrating for you though. Sending healing hugs

  2. God bless the NHS they clearly care so much about helping sick people like yourself.
Take care of yourself Barbara you seem to be turning a corner and heading in the right direction now. Slow steps are usually the best ones.
    Much love
    Xx

  3. Hello Barbara
My thoughts are with you and I hope it isn’t too long before you get home to sleep in your own bed.
    Love
    Roz.xxx

  4. The longer you rest the better you will be. Barbara, you have amazing people around you in the hospital and at Clarity, so I hope they nag you to do as you are told and not to worry about anything, you can’t drive the shac shac bus as it’s broken down and that’s going to take a while to fix. Get well soon, much love. X

  5. Sorry to hear that the pneumonia is bad. Try and rest, but being in a busy ward does help the time go quickly! Hope those rogues, workaholics are not rearing their ugly heads!
I think RELAX should be a good quotation for you! No idea who said it but it seems appropriate! X

  6. A wonderful NHS, especially so in west Wales cancer care. Thank you for taking time to blog with your news and take care. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
    love Jane x.

  7. Baby steps lovely lady. It doesn’t matter how long it takes as long as overall it is in the right direction. You are in good hands.
Stay positive – it really does help.
    Sending healing thoughts. 🍒

  8. It’s sometimes so hard to rest in hospital but I hope you get the rest you need. Let people look after you now. Be well xxxx

  9. Indeed everyone also has a talent somewhere. Whether it’s the chap opposite who makes you laugh or the very disabled young woman blind/ deaf /immobile in bed who greets her favourite carer, that she recognises from her scent, and gives her the most beautiful smile. I remember that from childhood and think of her often.
Everyone has something, as you say.
Wishing you a good recovery in whatever time it takes.

  10. Had been worried not to have seen a post from you earlier, but good things come to those who wait, even a bed in the right ward! Sounds like it will be a long way to full health from this one, but each journey begins with one small step. Hope you can get some sleep, if not just rest and don’t fret.

  11. Take your time and don’t push yourself too hard. We miss you on the bus but, a change of schedule is fine, we will be at the stop when you feel ready to come back.
Sending you a big healing hug, and best wishes to your family and all at Clarity.

  12. REST, REST & more REST seems to be the order of the day. Not easy in hospital, I know, as there is always so much going on, day & night. Hopefully it won’t be too long until you are back in your own bed with Drs, Dave, Erik & Ragnor looking after you. 🤞😻😻

  13. You are surrounded by the right people both in hospital and back at Clarity Towers. So you must rest, as best you can in hospital, and travel gently. Hope you start to feel better very soon. Lots of love xx

  14. It will take as long as it takes Barbara. Just obey doctors orders and you will get better. Love rabid love to you all

  15. As you always say Barbara, take it one day at a time. You will get better and you have a whole team of good people behind you to work on that. And another great bunch to keep the wheels turning at work as well. Love from Australia. Take care.

  16. Enforced rest! Just what the doctor ordered. Hang on in there, Barb. This too shall pass. It has obviously been building up for weeks. Sending lots of love. Hxx

  17. Fingers crossed you get to the respiratory ward soon. Pneumonia does take quite some time to recover from, as I’ve seen with my Sister. You have to go with the flow, rest and let the medication do its work. If all our best wishes and love could mend you, you’d be out tomorrow fully recovered.

  18. What do you tell us –
    One day at a time
    Go gently
This is what you need to do to ensure you fully recover. Let others take up the reins for now. Thinking of you in my prayers, sending hugs. xxx

  19. The more you rest and recuperate the sooner you will be well enough to go home for more rest xx wishing you a full if slow recovery so that you can be well xx Clarity crafts is in excellent hands with Paul Dave and your brother Steve and all the other wonderful people who are there and we will all be here when you are able cheering you on as always xx take this time to make sure you are fully recovered xx

  20. Dear Barb,
Rest, recover and let people spoil you. You owe us all nothing while we owe you so much and want you to take the time to heal. Thank you for always trying to be the best, well, Clarity IS the best, but we need our bus driver to be fit and healthy. Thank you for creating Groovi, a hobby I love, and which is seeing my old age fully occupied with bits of parchment, plates, dies and whatnots. You are an inspiration. Get well soon, Lynda.

  21. So sorry to hear that you are unwell. You’ve had such a worrying and sad time lately it’s no wonder you’re body and mind have decided you need to rest!! I hope you feel better soon and can recuperate at home very soon. There are so many people out here wishing you well and sending love so I hope that helps. Xx😊💐

  22. Wishing you a speedy recovery, take the time plus a bit more, to get yourself fully fit. Thank goodness for our NHS and wonderful staff. Sending much love and hugs xx

  23. Fuel is so expensive right now, so you need to save as much as possible. In other words, you need to rest much as possible to recoup your energy for when the weather is better. Learn to be a good patient (Grace, you have a major job controlling her). Listen to your doctors and do as they tell you and when you are home and feeling better, go on a lovely long holiday with Dave. We are all here and sending lots of love and hugs. xxx Maggie Craner (Silvercrafter)

  24. Thanks for keeping us posted on your progress. Hope you’ve a pencil and some paper to doodle away those long hours. Don’t know if you know but there is an app called the Tapping solution I swear by it. Worth googling, helps with the mind and body and better still you can do it laying in bed. Hope you feel better soon. xxx

  25. I think this has been building up for quite a long time and with all you had going on you didn’t recognise the signs, and if like me didn’t even have a cough so never thought I could have pneumonia. The meds will kick in soon then you will be able to carry on getting better at home with Dave and the cats. Get plenty of rest and sleep love and hugs.❤

  26. Thankyou Barbara for taking the time and effort to blog and let us all know how you are progressing, when you are clearly quite unwell. If it were me I would be wishing everyone would just go away and leave me be. Allow me to sleep for a month and wake me up when I am all healed and raring to go. But that’s not you. You still think of us and encourage us to be positive. Thankyou so much.💐

  27. Take care and rest, Barb. Let the amazing NHS staff look after you and get you better and leave Clarity in the safe hands of Dave, Paul, and the awesome Team Clarity.
If you can, stay on “the sunny side of the street”!

  28. “On your darkest days do not try to see the end of the tunnel by looking far ahead. Focus only on where you are right now. Then carefully take one step at a time, by placing just one foot in front of the other. Before you know it, you will turn that corner”. Just take one small step at a time. There is no rush. You have a good team around you to take the load for a while.

  29. I think they want to keep you in there for a while to cheer up other patients, as you still manage to remain so positive. Please don’t think about driving a bus through there as well though!
Seriously though Barb, take it easy, one day at a time and get yourself well. Big hugs. XX

  30. It’s good to hear your news each day. Thank you. We are all thinking of you. So much to be miserable about and it can’t be any fun not even being settled in a ward, yet you always manage to find a positive. Hang in there. We’re all rooting for you. xx

  31. Dear Barbara. I have spent so long in AMU. in general I would say the proportion of nursing and ancillary care in the AMU is better than on the wards. You get to see the Doctors before they do their normal ward rounds, to check on acute cases. I agree with everyone above. Rest and trust in them. You are so well loved and thought of by all of us, we are sending our positive vibes, love and prayers to you and all your medical and non medical teams….the cleaners always have time for a chat. Please rest and sleep. xxxxx

  32. Bless you Barb for always trying to stay positive 🥰 For keeping those who know and love you (as well as those who don’t know you) looking for a silver lining in whatever life throws at you/us. It’s not always easy, but all we can do is try and try again… Please rest and get well, slow and steady if necessary. Hopefully you will be home again soon … even then keep resting to heal fully. Much love and gentle hugs lovely lady xXx 🦋💕

  33. One day at a time, so sorry to know you are not well Hopefully you will get into the proper ward soon and start to feel a lot better Love And Prayers for you

  34. What is it you always tell us Barbara…..this time will pass? It will lovely lady, it really will. So many of us are thinking about you, caring about you, sending out love to you , that you will be up and running before you know it.
But bide your time and get properly well, no cutting corners . Chin up flower. Big big hugs 🫂 from Tadcaster xxx

  35. Sorry to hear that your recovery may not be as speedy as you hoped. You may not have been transferred to a ward yet but you are definitely in he right place even if it feels a bit like no-man’s land.
    Hope Dave is OK.
    With many best wishes.
    Lynn x

  36. Hi Barbara
Late comment tonight, although you’re probably still awake it’s not easy to sleep in hospital. Hopefully you take heed and rest and continue to rest when you get home. Your health is the most important thing.
I’m sure everyone at Clarity towers will go the extra mile to help as you would do if they needed help.
    Love Ruth and Jackie xx

  37. Barbara hope you start to feel better soon. You are an inspiration to all is lady’s. Sending prayers and love xx 💜🙏

  38. oh my goodness! You alway do things SO well and now you did the pneumonia well! 🤣 So now you really will have to do REST well! – Keep your pecker up lovely, it’s going to be a long road to recovery but you will get there and we are all sending you our best healing wishes and we will all still be here how ever long it takes. Its a boring place to be, in hospital but use it to listen to all thos audio books you now have time to listen to! xx😍

  39. Sorry to hear the news Barbara. Hope you make a quick and speedy recovery. Everything will still be there when you are are up and about again. We will miss you – but we need you to get well. Slow and steady wins the race!!! Take care and big hugs xx

  40. Hi Barb, don’t start rushing to get better it’ll only end up biting you in the bum later on. Take your time, focus on the present, keep the meds going in and the positivity going up. Tell the gremlins to beat it they aren’t allowed in hospital.

  41. Dear Barbara, Been in AMU myself – excellent care but manically busy! Ear plugs (to reduce noise) and a sleep mask (to cut out light) might help with sleep and rest which you need so much. Take all the time you and your body need to recover fully, we’ll all be here cheering you on. In the meantime, I hope you’re soon in the respiratory ward and able to start relaxing – in my prayers xx

  42. Oh Barbara you are going through it at the moment! Try to rest and relax ( easier said than done!) we are all sending you love and big hugs and willing you better. We’re not going anywhere, this too shall pass.
Sending love to you and your lovely family.
    Much love
    Patricia
    Xxxxx

  43. Baby steps, lovely lady. Take care of yourself in the now and the future will take care of itself. I can’t think of anyone who’ll have more good wishes winging their way – a veritable bus-load in fact. As we say in the north “ca’ canny” – roughly translates as “travel gently.” Hugs – xx

  44. Dear Barb, you are really poorly, but still find time and energy to share quotes and your amazing spirit with us. We are all here for you, praying for you, rooting for you and sending love and hugs. Please look after yourself and concentrate on getting better. Bx

  45. Thanks for finding the energy to blog even when you are so ill. Just this connection to someone cheers me up when I am feeling lonely and depressed. Make sure you have enough rest and get well soon.
    Love and hugs
    Yvonne

  46. Rest up 😊you have worked so hard over the last 3 years and had health problems in the family, the big move and looking after your Mum and Dad too. Now you need to recuperate and only come back when you are really well. Sending prayers 🙏🏻 and 💕 xxx

  47. When I had my Cancer Op last year there wasn’t any beds in the recovery ward for me, so they put me in the OBSERVATION WARD! Two days later when I was leaving, one of the Nurses “Observing me” asked what I was in for???

  48. Lots of love and hope you are soon improving. Treat this as an opportunity to heal and I don’t just mean your pneumonia. You keep going through all the trials and tribulations but your body is telling you it needs to rest and you need to rest your mind too. Your creativity will be further enhanced when you give everything time to recover.
    Take care
    Janet XXX

  49. Barbara, glad you seem to be on the mend. Slowly does it, one step at a time. We want you to get well and if the bus is on a long overhaul, we are more than happy to wait. We miss you but want you fighting fit before you take the bus out again. Hugs to you and remember we will all be here when you are better xx

  50. Hello bus driver
Yes it will take a long time to get better after a double doses of it four years ago I am still not the same but you Barbara are a much better fighter than I am as you all ways say one day at the time and in this case it is true x

  51. Just take one day at a time. And take as long as you need to get better.
Sending you lots of love and hugs. Xxxxx

  52. Barbara wishing you soon feel stronger . Take one day at a time. You are one lady who so many people admire . God bless you xx 💜🙏

  53. Wishing you all the best for a full recovery Barbara, it looks like god feels you needed a break and the only way he could stop you was to enforce bed rest in hospital. One day at a time, both with your grieving and healing. Take care and let everyone look after you for a change.

  54. Dear Barbara, you don’t do things by halves, not even pneumonia. It’s time to be gentle and kind to yourself and allow your battered body all the time it needs to make a full recovery. Sometimes hospital wards don’t feel restful, but the medics are there to provide the professional support and the best you can do is to let it happen. When you’re a bit better, hopefully you’ll be able to go home and really relax in your own dear space. Erik and Ragnar may well provide that feline restful ease, even though they are young. I think our animal companions often know when we need to rest and make very good company when we’re poorly. Cats often excel in the art of relaxation and doing nothing gracefully. So you might follow their lead. Wishing you well. x

  55. Thank you for keeping us posted. Sorry to hear you’ve got quite a bad pneumonia and will have to stay in hospital for a while. You may not be in the right ward yet but it sounds like all what’s going on there and all the different people you’ve met has helped to cheer you up and the main thing, you’re in good hands and are well looked after! Just rest and take it easy! Sending hugs and lots of love. Alles, Alles Liebe ❤

  56. Dear Barbara,
Sorry to hear of all the things that happened to you the last weeks. I hold my thumbs for you that you will soon recover from your bad pneumonia. Now leave all the work and worrying behind you and take the rest you need. Take care of yourself. As you alway tell us:’ this too will pass’. Get well soon!
