Time out

Time out

Hi there

Thanks for popping. Dave’s daughter Laura and the family came over for a little birthday tea party this afternoon. We had cancelled earlier in the month, due to illness. Actually, it’s just as well, because the weather was so lovely, we were able to hang out in the garden today!

Here we see lovely Evie and I completely engrossed in colouring in together.

She and the nipper Oliver are such a joy. Just beautiful little bundles of innocence and energy. After so many weeks, months and years now of anxiety, pressure, worry and stress, it does the soul good to take time out and just BE with the kids.

Simple cheese and ham sandwiches, crisps, a few little Mr Kipling cakes – bliss.

Hope you had a good day too.

Love and hugs

  1. How lovely Barb. You do both look totally engrossed 💖💖
I went to see Samuel today and had loads and loads of cuddles! Tomorrow, it’s my Mum’s turn. We are meeting my brother (who I haven’t seen for about 4 years), at a golf club in Sittingbourne for a lovely 3-course Sunday lunch (don’t tell all our Grayscalers 😁). Happy (God)mother’s Day, from Samuel xxxxx

  5. I’m gardening most afternoons just now which is great. Reclaiming my 12 raised beds so I can get them all planted up with veg! A friend is replacing some of the wood for me as the time has come so it’s all beginning to come together which is great. The weather is super and so I am lapping up the sun while it lasts. No shade for me, thank you. I do love your garden seat and the concentration of the two of you colouring in. Lovely to have down time with children. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. I think I’ll be planting seeds tomorrow afternoon. I need a break from digging! Lol. Lots of love. Hxx

  13. For some reason this blog reminds me of the many happy hours I spent with my much loved Grandmother, Nanny, as she patiently sat and watched over me as she taught me to sew clothes for my dollies. I can remember being so excited when she finally allowed me to use her hand sewing machine. She taught me a skill that has remained with me always, such precious memories. Love your garden seat it looks really comfortable. Have a lovely Sunday xx

  14. Grandmothers are indispensable and it is lovely to see you with the little ones.
My Gran was lovely and taught me to knit at 5, sew at 6 and crochet at 9. At 11 I was on the old Singer sewing machine making clothes, a skill I am so grateful for. Hope you had a fab Mothering Sunday.
Received my club package this morning, inspirational as usual.
Thank you for all you are doing to support Ukraine, as well as all our crafters who also help.
    Love and hugs
