Sunflower – Make Art Not War

Sunflower – Make Art Not War

Hi there

Thanks for popping in.

The Russian forces are scaling up their aggression in their bid to defeat or destroy Ukraine and its people – whichever comes first, it would seem. And we stand by, impotent. So we do whatever we can. We give clothes and blankets, and we give money. We give whatever we can. It helps the cause and it helps salve our consciences, our powerlessness.

At Clarity, we want to do our bit for Ukraine and the poor – courageous – Ukrainians too. Our Jim drew up a Sunflower stampset yesterday, and Laurent made a bunch today.

Available HERE

Now it is my turn to tell you about them…

For every Sunflower stampset we sell, 50% of the proceeds will go to The Red Cross.

So we make a symbolic stampset with a strong message – the Sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine. Then you buy that beautiful stampset and the money goes to The Red Cross. In so doing, we ALL do something to help, albeit a tiny gesture. But here’s the thing: many tiny gestures make a movement. Which makes us individuals feel a little less helpless, and part of a positive reaction to what can only be deemed as evil.

Then you lovely crafters get to work! You make loads of cards and send them to your friends, showing them how you feel. Or you sell them for charity, and make your own donations – and so it goes on…. You can buy multiple stampsets for craft-friends too. We’ll make as many as you want to buy. Do we make any profit? Nah. By the time the VATman and taxman, the polymer man and the packaging man have had their chunk of change, there’ll be your 50% left for the RED CROSS. And that’s fine by me. So you’ll forgive us for flicking the switch off on your Club Members’ discount. The objective here is to make as much money as we can for The Red Cross and the Ukrainian Crisis.

They are already on the website. Click here to find

Mmm. No words. What else is there to say? I think I’ll do some colouring in. Blue and Yellow.

Proportion 2:3, Flag of Ukraine.

Join in. Make something. Do something.

Love always

  10. Brilliant idea Barbara, I have ordered mine, beautiful stamps and such a kind gesture , thank you Barbara, Dave and all at clarity.

  11. Brilliant idea, I will be ordering this set, so glad it will help the Red Cross. I can’t bear to see how the Ukrainians are suffering , families torn apart, living underground and so bravely defending their country. I am also concerned about the reporters who are on the front line to tell us what is happening, they are also very brave and we need to know this.
Thank you for doing these stamps xx

  12. Wonderful idea Barbara. I shall certainly order these and make some cards for charity. I watched a speech made by the Ukrainian President today, he was speaking in Russian, and he aimed it to the ordinary people of Russia, knowing full well that they will not be able to see it broadcast in Russia. He is an amazing man and it made me feel very humble. It breaks my heart that he could well be killed and it’s so awful feeling so helpless.
Thank you for thinking of this Barbara and giving so many of us something positive to do. Love and hugs xx

  13. Hi Barb,
Brilliant idea! I am sat watching the news and my heart goes out to each and everyone of those poor people in Ukraine ( & their pets). I will be ordering this stamp straight away. Thank you , love and hugs, Alison xx
I’ve just heard that the Ukraine President has just called Putin “ a deranged little Tsar”, quite an apt description I think!

  14. Hi everyone
What a great idea and a lovely gesture by Clarity. Having watched the news every day and shed years I am humbled to see such brave and determined people standing together and fighting for their homeland. May God bless each and everyone of them. Xx

  15. Hello Barb, what a beautiful way to help a little. I have ordered mine this morning, every little bit counts. Those poor people, they are in my prayers. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx

  16. Off to the website right now. I intend to do something I normally avoid and batch make to sell to give every penny to one of the charities working to help in the Ukraine and to help the refugees. xxx Maggie Craner
