Pause for Thought….

Pause for Thought….

Hi there

Thanks for popping in.

It’s time to trundle up to the TV studios for the launch of those exquisite Flowers and Lace Groovi plates, designed by Linda Williams – and made by my brother Steve, who just quietly gets on with making, making, making. He’s a happy sort of chap mostly. Doesn’t buy into other peoples’ bullshit. Just gets on with what’s in front of him.
Dave too. There’s another maker, a farmer, a builder. Neither of these men are fussed about flashy cars or expensive clothes. They know happiness is an inside job.

I found a very apt quote. I think it will resonate with most of you – especially if you are a crafter, or a creative.

The Happiest people seem to be those who are producing something; the bored people are those who are consuming much and producing nothing.

William Inge, 1860-1954. English writer

1860-1954. Wow. He saw a lot of Life. The Victorian era, the Industrial Revolution, two World Wars. I wonder what he would make of the world today…

Have a good day. Have the best day that you can. Make something. DO Something. And keep today in today. All you’ve got to do is get through to the end of today. Worry about tomorrow tomorrow.

I said that more to myself than anyone else!

Love always,

Barb xxx

Don’t forget 6pm launch xxx

  1. Good morning Barbara,
I totally agree with that quote.
Since my recent fall I have had plenty of time when activity has been almost nonexistent but I have not been bored because I have Clarity. Lots of toppers prepared, Groovi tracings ready for colouring and embossing, a whole pile of die cutting done, so who has time to be bored? Not me – there’s too much living to do.
Safe journey to TV land. Really looking forward to the shows which I have now managed to put on to record.
    Stay safe.🍒🍒🍒

  2. Lovely verse and very apt. It’s sunny up here at the moment. Spring is on its way. Buds forming on trees so all with be colourful soon. Linda’s plates look amazing. Enjoy and big thanks to the amazing team. X

  3. Definitely happy when I’m crafting and consuming – anything edible – when I’m not! Comfort eating just now due to the world situation which is not good. Really looking forward to the shows later. Safe journey and all the best for the shows. Take care. Hxxx

  4. Thank you for that Barbara and looking forward to the shows – the new plates look fabulous! I love my parchment craft and more recently have ventured into die cutting…..! My husband and his friend write songs together and make beautiful music!

Crafting is on hold at the moment due to an accident but I am hoping that normal service will be resumed shortly….!
Take care – one day at a time!
    Love Katharine xx

  5. Definitely One Day at a Time – Live for today- sort tomorrow out when it comes !!
Safe journey up to Oundle – at least is dry & sunny even if a tad on the chilly side.
Have been busy cutting out tabards with large pockets for my mom using material found whilst downsizing her stash prior to a house move. How come I can do someone else’s but not my own !!
Looking forward to the shows – have them on record for future reference.

  6. He certainly got that right. Pete is another one who gets with his hands and although he will admire a flashy car for its engineering finesse, he is content as he is.

He got angry earlier about all the injustice at the moment and then went off to find a job to do xx

Travelling mercies to you and enjoy meeting your mates at the studios xx

  7. I’ve been making. I’m easily pleased. Good luck with shows and thanks Steve and Dave for getting on with it 😘

  8. Hi Barbara I hope the shows go well they certainly should. All the artwork the other day was gorgeous. Take care and have a good evening. Take care. Hugs xxx

  9. Hello Barb, hope the travel was uneventful, as you say leave tomorrow for tomorrow. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx

  10. Well you’ve done it again with the ODS. From Linda’s ideas to the final items from the DT it is a job well done. Looking forward to using the new Groovi plates and also the stamps which happened to fall into my basket.
    Be constructive , not destructive.

  11. I love the look of these plates, can’t wait for them to arrive. I’m never bored, I have so many projects waiting to be done!
