A Heart is Happiest…

A Heart is Happiest…

…when it beats for others.

Hi there.

Thanks for popping in.

Today is the first day of our Clarity Craft Club Members HALF PRICE SALE! Love is in the air. So we’re taking a little walk down memory lane – ahead of Valentines Day – and pulling some lovely step-by-step projects for you. Old is GOLD after all!

Also, anxiety levels are high at the moment. So many mixed messages, so much uncertainty. The pandemic seems to be here, then not here. Here, then not here. Then there are lots of changes in our TV Craft world, and whilst I am sure it will all settle down soon, the upheaval is disquieting for everybody involved.

So we thought we’d wrap a huge, comforting cloak of love and creativity around you, me, us, the blog, the sale – around everything.

Before we get wrapped up in an arty hearty project, let me just add this: if you are reading this, then you are alive AND you’ve either got internet or a good mobile phone! Things are looking up!! Hahaha.

On that happy note, let’s dive right in…

Method

Step 1.
Ink up the Doodleology stamp with the black Archival ink pad.

Step 2.
Place the heart shaped stamp board onto the inky stamp.

Step 3.
Cover with a piece of copy paper and rub hard all over.
Peel away the copy paper carefully and voila! A decorated heart of stamp board.

Step 4.
But don’t throw away your scrap! Here’s how I recycled it…
I mounted the piece of scrap copy paper onto a small piece of square shaped stamp board.
Hold them up to the light to position.

Step 5.
Make registration marks on the back, so you know where to wrap.
Clip the corners with scissors.

Step 6.
This is the gear. Brush it onto the stamp board using the flat brush.

Step 7.
Place the stamp board, glue face down, onto the back of the scrap paper within your registration marks.
Flip and burnish. Flip back and add glue to the side flaps as you wrap. Avoid getting glue on the front.

Step 8
Admire your perfect little board. Time to have some fun!

Step 9
Add some colour using an Artistry Ink of your choosing. I’ve used Rich Mocha. Make sure to spend extra time on the corners and edges, brushing from the edge inwards.

Step 10.
Using a Gel Press, add your red ink to the square stamp board.
Using your stencil brush, add black Archival ink around the edges and corners.

Step 11.
Using a blending nib and your red ink, add detail to the heart where you choose.
For example, I have added more detailing to the heart, and blended the red to add some shading to it.

Step 12.
It’s looking a little too red at this stage, so pull out your other ink pads (blues and greens) and start adding your own shading and flare.

Step 13.
Let’s give it a big white frame, to let it breath.
Back it up on a larger piece of square shaped stamp board (from the set of sizes).

Step 14.
Add a heartfelt message of LOVE, and you’re all set! A perfect scrap. Aren’t you glad you didn’t throw that away?!

You could even frame it! One man’s trash is another man’s treasure 😉

I hope you’ll find some inspiration in these step-by-steps. If you head over to the website, you’ll find the ingredients. And some of them will be in the members half-price sale . Might be a great time to join the Clarity Craft Club.

    1. They are really Lovely! I can’t wait to be able to have a go too. – Horrible times at the moment, but my Mum used to say ‘Everything will be alright in the end’- And I guess she was right because if we think about all our previous troubles and disasters throughout our lives, in fact it does all turn out all right in the end! – We just have to ride the storms and believe it will all turn out alright in the end. 🤞😘
