If you go down to the woods today…

If you go down to the woods today…

Hi there

Thanks for popping in. This every day blogging seems to be a challenge at the moment, so bear with me while I get back in my stride. The head is all over the place at the moment. Proper full on spin cycle.

But to lighten the mood, let me take you back to Friday afternoon, when we ventured up to the 100 acre woods on the Ashdown Forest, to visit Christopher Robin and Winnie the Pooh’s old haunts. Why? It was Evie’s 7th Birthday. Our eldest Granddaughter…

Here we see her little brother Oliver escaping…

When we got to the woods, we hadn’t even parked the cars and it started to drizzle. You know the one. That fine misty rain. Mizzle.

Oh no!! We all looked skyward. And it seemed to stop.

“Pooh! Pooh!” exclaimed Piglet, “What if it rains?!”
“Mmmm”. replied Pooh, “What if it doesn’t?”

So we set off to the place for picknicks. And the sun came out. Well, sort of. It peeped through the clouds very occasionally and it certainly didn’t rain.

Feeling very rumbly in my tumbly, said Pooh…so out with the sandwiches and cake.

We sang Happy Birthday, and other ramblers joined in, which was rather special. Ate way too much cake – sugar overload!

Here we see Pops and his two little poppets.

On top of the world.

I guess that’s it, isn’t it. Keep your eye on what’s in front of you. Focus on what you are doing and on the path ahead…

..and check what you’re eating before you eat it…

On this happy, sanguine note, let’s enjoy this Sunday.

I haven’t forgotten the Be Still and Listen competition. Want to try for a £20 gift voucher in a card? It’s not too late…

Then tell me below which designer card I used in these two pieces. 2 lucky winners – one card each too.

Love and Hugs

  1. Sounds like a perfect day to me! Making more very special memories with some of the special people in your life.
Such a good mantra to have ‘keep looking forward’ and may I add ‘with hope’. Lots of love and hugs Barb, and just take your time with everything (including your blog’ xx

  2. Oh what a lovely way to spend your day. Those are precious memories to hang on to. Don’t worry about blogging just fit it in when you can. There is so much going on for you right now Barbara. I hope your dad is still improving. Take care. Hugs xxx

  3. So special – Family picnics in lovely places, especially as magical as Pooh’s 100 Acre Wood!
No worries about the odd Blog missing Barbara, what is important is that you take care of yourself and your family. You and Team Clarity do and have done so much for us crafty artists, you needn’t worry about missing the odd “appearance”, gives us a chance to catch up on the “projects”!
    Travel gently, travel safely.

  4. Great to have a Birthday picknick together!
It remembers me of the picknick we had with our English friends in Knaresborough. He had to play with the Silver Brass Band there and afterwards we had a picknick together on the green there.
    Happy memories!
Have a great Sunday and a lot of love,Trijntje Huppel

  5. Sounds like a wonderful day was had by all.xxx

  6. Hi Barb,
Sounds like you had a fantastic time and what a lovely place to have a picnic. I wouldn’t worry about missing the odd blog – I know exactly how you feel. I cannot get myself back into “ ordinary” life at the moment , I really must get myself sorted out. It’s not helping that we still haven’t got regular tv yet after the blinking mast caught fire. We either have to watch on computer or various iplayers but we can’t get all channels – what a pain! Hope your Dad is continuing to make steady progress. Love and hugs,Alison xxx

  7. What lovely happy family pictures of you all. Thank you for showing them to us.
Don’t worry about missing a few blogs. I have long wondered a) how you manage to fit it in to your very busy days and b) where you find the discipline to make yourself do it every day. Yes we love hearing from you but understand that, with family responsibilities which must come first, you will not always be able to blog.
There is so much on your web site, YouTube etc. that you are never very far away from us and so we can keep busy, occupied, relaxed and happy every day.
Travel gently Barbara and stay safe and well.🍒

  8. Looks brilliant – love the young lady’s boots – birthday present I wonder??

  9. Oh, thanks for sharing those photos. The children look so sweet and it’s lovely to see a wee girl with a doll instead of an electronic device in her hand. Glad you had a lovely evening together. Enjoy what remains of your weekend. Hxx

  10. Lovely photos, so pleased you had a good time and able to be the one to introduce Evie to Winnie the Pooh. Fabulous memories. X

  11. Glad you all had such a lovely time ‘chilling’ together and celebrating Evie’s birthday. Such beautiful scenery on your doorstep too. I’m sure we would all understand, Barbara, if you cut down on your blogs. We love reading them but we also love you and want you to take care of yourself. You work so hard but we all have to slow down a bit as time progresses. Hope your Dad continues to improve. Hugs, Pam xx

  12. As much as we love reading your blogs Barb, you have had a lot in your plate lately and it won’t hurt to miss some of your blogs. Put yourself first for a change, we will be here always. Lovely family picnic photos. Bet everyone enjoyed it. Do hope your Dad is recovering. Love Pam xx

  13. What a lovely family and what lovely pictures of you all on a happy day. Very special memories to keep.
Please don’t feel under any obligation to blog every day. I can’t imagine that any of the Clarity family expects it of you, or doesn’t understand when you can’t do it. Take time to smell the roses and take care of yourself. Hugs. Annette X

  14. Hi Barbara
Looks like special family time and you all look so happy 😀. We are having a few days away and took in Art in Clay at Windsor today. It was great to see lots of potters in one place and also saw quite a few of the contestants from the last series of The Throw Down. Great day out.
