60 something….

60 something….

Hi there

Thanks for popping in. Sun’s shining here. 62 today, and it’s been a lovely day. So many lovely cards from your good selves, so many flowers and good wishes, phone calls from the family, sing-song and laughter all day. Thank you so much! What more can you want, eh? Feeling very grateful and content.

I even filled the kiln and fired it up when we got back from our walk. I don’t know what I’m going to do with all these bowls and pots, apart from give them away as gifts – but I do love making them!

The years fly by, and the body is definitely letting me know that Old Father Time is right behind me every step of the way. But. Just for today, I shall be happy, and accept it all just as it is, creaky bones and all. Because it is exactly that: it is what it is.

Moreover, it is exactly as it is supposed to be right now. When I sit with that ,and go with that fact, things don’t feel half as heavy.

Our two little Vikings think so too…

Remember the simple reflection landscape I started building the other day?

Decided to add a backdrop, just some simple hills in the distance, using one of the other masks in that magical pack…

The machines are rolling at work, making the masks ready for our craftalong next Friday. Are you going to join me? 3pm Friday Facebook LIVE. If you fancy learning how to get to grips with these multi-layered masks, order yours today. CLICK HERE. I’m going to schedule a second craftalong session the following week too – there’s so much to show you! Wait till we do the ducks in the pond !!!

Anyway, time to go walking again, while the sun is shining. Like Doris Day once sang,

Enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think.

These words hit me right between my tired eyes. Ain’t this the blimming truth.

And on that sobering note, I shall get my boots on and go for another walk through the ancient woodland. Carpe Diem!

Love always

Barb xxx

  16. Glad you are having a good day, Barb. Funny that you should be talking about time because that is what I’m talking about in my Time of Reflection tomorrow. I should really get you to write it!! Lol. Anyway, enjoy the rest of your day and indeed the rest of your weekend, including Monday with Dee. One long and very precious weekend of celebrations. Lots of love. Hxx

  17. Good afternoon & Happy Birthday Barbara, hope you enjoyed your walk & didn’t get caught in any of the showers. We were going to go out but so glad we didn’t as the heavens opened & absolutely hammered down. Not for long but long enough to have got drenched & then we would have been cold & too far from home to run for it(well not exactly run but you know what I mean) !!
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

  18. Happy birthday Barbara. So glad you are enjoying your birthday weekend and as you say even the sun has been shining for you. xxxx

  19. Happy Birthday Barbara, have a good one 🙂

All the best, love Claire x

I agree with the creaking bones lol!! Also everything has suddenly given in to gravity but what the heck we are still here creating the crafting wave and enjoying every (crafting) moment xx

  21. Hello Barbara
You sound as if you have had a good day. Not quite the day you would have liked, but a good day nonetheless.
You know what they say….getting older sure beats the alternative.xxx
    Love
    Roz.xxx

  22. Happy Birthday, Barbara, and best wishes for a great, healthy year to come with much joy, fun and laughter!

  23. Happy birthday Barbara. So pleased to hear that you are having a great day. Lots of love and hugs, Gilly xx

  24. Happy Birthday to beautiful lady both inside and out. Glad you’ve had a good day. It’s my grandaughter’s birthday today too but she’s just 14. Looking forward to Friday, have treated myself to the reflection masks as I so enjoyed the ones with the children dancing in the moonlight. Enjoy Monday with Dee, see you Wednesday in the Shack xx

  25. Happy Birthday, bit late I know. Glad you have had a good day not the one we expect for our Birthdays but have to make the best of it. It was our Daughter-in-law’s as well , hers was the last one we celebrated properly last year. Gosh have we all got some making up to do. Our son had a quick doorstep visit with Taylor today, broke my heart when he asked to play with his toys in our house . A packet of choc buttons helped. xx

  26. So pleased you have had such a happy and enjoyable day. It will help recharge your batteries haha. Your Vikings look like book ends perched each side of table. Lovely puddie tats. Beautiful colours. A weekend + mondays visit of joy. You so deserve it. Have reflections ordered and other masks ready and waiting. Love’n’hugs x

  27. Happy birthday, hope you enjoyed your walk and didn’t get caught in the hailstorms!
Cuddle your kitties and relax this evening 🎂

  28. I hope you enjoyed your day. My older bones refused to take the dogs and me into our ancient woodland, just outside the back gate this morning (I couldn’t face the huge muddy stretches), so we had a slow and gentle walk around our Park. As I write, my 90 year old friend is busy with her Groovi work from Paul’s Tuesday lesson -so you’ll be fine at 90, just keep on keeping on!!

  29. Thanks Barbara,
Very true choice of song today. This year I will reach that age the Beatles sang about.
    Happy Birthday.
    Linda x

  30. I’m glad you had a happy birthday and hope you enjoy Mother’s Day too. You could always sell the pots, probably locally as P&P would be so much. Weren’t you going to have a shop in the new Clarity HQ before things were crazy? There will be a new normal. Perhaps your hands are investing in it before your mind catches up. For now, you have a raku party to prepare. Grace will be on that plane the first possible moment.

  31. Pleased you had a happy birthday, enjoy the rest of the weekend, and your visit to Dee on Monday. xx

  32. Hi Barb,
Wishing you a very happy birthday! I’m hoping that you’ve had a lovely day – it sounds as though you have – and that you had a good walk. The two Vikings certainly look very content sitting on the table. They have such beautiful markings. I would sell your pots etc – I’ll guarantee that you could sell plenty to people on this blog or the SHACSHAC – who wouldn’t want a Barbara Gray original? Lots of love and hugs, Alison xxx

  33. Hi Barb
Hope you had a lovely walk and enjoyed your lockdown birthday. Enjoy every year as it certainly whizzes by and before you know it another ten years have been added! Anyway it’s looking more promising out there now, so big celebrations to look forward to and we will all look back and this will be history!
Enjoy Mother’s Day today and all your tomorrows. Xx

  34. Happy Birthday Barbara and have a lovely Mother’s day too. I love that artwork – need those masks when my Saturday pennies come in again xx

  35. Liebe Frau Gray,
ich möchte Ihnen auch alles alles Gute nachträglich zu Ihrem Geburtstag wünschen.
Hoffe, Sie hatten einen wunderschönen Tag.
    Mit freundlichen Grüßen
