Carpe Diem
Hi there
Thanks for popping in. Dark and gloomy day outside, so here’s a simple little flower greeting for you, to brighten up your day.
Tuesday’s blog rolls back the hours, right? Well, this fab bouquet was drawn by our dear Tina some time ago, and fast became one of our most popular Clarity designs.
In fact, a whole series of this style but different popped up. Look!
and there’s a Chinese Lantern to add too! I drew this one!
You’ll notice that they all have infill stamps, which is brilliant for colouring, embossing and spot glazing. But the sprays themselves, just on their own, are fabulous actually.
Here’s a simple step by step for you to try.. I thought I’d use the new Backdrop stamps as a base…
Quick trick: dab a water colour pad on the backdrop stamp. Rose here. Spread the ink out over the A5 or A6 stamp with a brayer. Scrunch up a sheet of copy paper and dab the scrucned up paper over the stamp. Then pull your print for a super lovely background.
Mudstone Artistry Ink is a cool backdrop colour too
How about a mix of pink and lilac?
Simple stamping exercise now. Mask off the frame on the backdrop and stamp large floral spray into position.
Colour in with Perga Liner pencils, blend the colours to match the backdrop. Add Carpe Diem,
Colour in words and mount on a cool designer paper. This one’s from Antarctica. Done.
These stamps are very, very lovely. They always just look great. And we’ve even got them as Groovi plates too….
Head on over to www.claritystamp.com and investigate! This link will land you on the lot!
Haven’t had time to work out a winner on the anagram competition. So many entries!! Give me till Tomorrow.
Love and Hugs

I haven’t used that stamp since we were at the SCE and I stamped it on parchment. Must give it a go. Need to focus on something nice! Have a nice relaxing evening. Hx
I got it too at the SECC and love this stamp.
It will definitely help you focus on something nice.
Beautiful as ever look forward to having a go at this thank you xx
I have and love these stamps, must dig them out again, thank you for the step by step xx
Just beautiful. Really need more time to play with all the stuff I’ve bought recently but if Clarity had a wish list facility this would be a set I’d love to own and it would be sitting there waiting my next purchase ! It has been a gloomy old day hasn’t it! Love and hugs!
I really love this stamp and love the colour that you have used.
I bought it at the SECC in March. I have used it to make several cards, and everyone who has received them have commented how lively the image is.
I am planning on buying the new background stamp on Friday, I I look forward to using them both together.
That’s so pretty! I think it’s a fabulous stamp set and so good for any occasion. And with the background stamp is perfect.
Now I’ve finished my Christmas cards I can have a play with some other things. This may be something I do.
Hope those Kittens are behaving.
Love and hugs xxxx
I have 3 of the stamps and love them. I’m looking forward to the new background stamps too. I’ll give it to myself as a late birthday present!! I’m sorry i missed the anagram comp -I love doing anagrams! I did read the blog, but somehow missed the comp bit. Must have had a busy day!! Thanks for the lesson -will be trying this one (it’ll make a change from Christmas cards!)
Good evening Barbara. These stamps are gorgeous. I do remember drawing the poppies. I love your artwork. Have a great evening. Take care. Hugs xxx
I love these stamps & have just added the Chinese Lanterns to my stash. Like the look of the new background stamp so that will be on my wish list.
Have spent the day completing some Birthday cards, the latest GROOVI SHAC project & other UFO’s that will be Christmas cards.
Hope Erik & Ragnor have had a good day, see you in the SHAC shack tomorrow.
Been playing with the background stamps using cling film. Got some nice bases for stamping on.
Hubbies birthday tomorrow, I’ve been teasing him that he will officially be an old age pensioner but he will never stop being my ‘toy boy’ as his humour and cheeky grin always brightens even the dullest day.
Started out sunny this morning but it has been raining now for most of the day so the lawn will not get its last mow tomorrow. More time to craft!!!!
Stay safe.
Hi Barb,
I love this set of stamps, I have used them time and time again for birthday cards. They are my go to stamps. The background you’ve created is lovely, I have the background stamps but haven’t used them yet. Maybe I’ll have to give this a try tomorrow as I need to make a card. Love and hugs,Alison xxx
Hello Barb, a really pretty step by step. Don’t have any of the stamps yet, but I guess it will only be a matter of time. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx

See you in Hochanda tomorrow and in the Shac.
