A Floral Forest…

A Floral Forest…

Hi there

Thanks for popping in. Monday’s blog is trees and flowers, right? So how about shedding a little light on a fabulous stencil of ours, called The Frameless Floral Forest …

In fact, there’s another fab stencil design called the Frameless Floral Flourish (Say that when you’ve had a few sherberts!!) Here they are in a set, complete with their mini stencils too. CLICK HERE to investigate

Out with the 8”x10” Gel Press and matching megamount . Set the stencil on the Gelpress, then dab dab dab Distress Oxides all over the stencil with our Spot-On sponges, or make-up sponges. Here is the link to our Distress Oxides department!

Peel the inky stencil carefully off the Gelpress and lay it down (half of it) on a couple of Clarity Stampboards, which are already positioned on the bottom plate of the Gemini die cutting machine, ready to be run through the mangle! This trick will work with any die-cutting machine; I just like the Gemini. That’s why we sell it!

Wait till you see the emboss on the Stampboard. Blimming brilliant!! If you haven’t got any Stampboard yet, I think it really is excellent. I didn’t use a magnetic shim or a rubber shim. Just the outer plates and the frosted one.

But look! How classy does this look?!?

Spritzed the stencil with a little water and ran it through again…beautiful

Now for the Gel Press. There’s a load of something good on there too!

Spritz the Gel press with water to clean, and maybe even pull a second ghost print? Bingo. Very arty…

So let‘s go to the Gel press print first. Chop it up into 3 inch squares and edge with a Sharpie pen.

Mount the little squares on a white 3.5” square, then on a 5” x 5” Black Card blank. One random scrap print yields six lovely notelet prints.

All we need to add now is a little meaning. Let’s speak to the heart.

What a neat little set to wrap up with a ribbon and give as a gift.

And here’s another couple of cards, made with the fabulous Stampboard!

All the sentiments come from the Feel Good factors Booklet of stickers.

Amazing what you can do with a little frameless floral forest stencil ! And I’ve still got all the offcuts! said the frugal crafter….

Stay safe.

Love and Hugs

  1. Ah that’s pretty! I think I have some stamp boards left when I get five I’ll have a go! Thanks Barb. I think I’ve hinted big enough for clarity vouchers from friends and family for my 50th. The wish list is growing! . Xx

  2. Have these but rarely used them so far. What a lovely (and economical) way to use them. Thanks for the idea.
Received Linda’s wrap set 2 today, they are a delight.
We are both well and the new measures are not going to make any difference to us, we will carry on as normal self isolating and crafting like crazy. Having said that I have to admit to buying a couple of thick paper books with the weekend shop and read both in 3 days. Riveting stories.
    Stay well, stay safe. 🍒🍒🍒

  3. Hi Barbara
These are pretty, I must check my newly sorted stencils as I’m sure I’ve got one of the frameless ones! I haven’t got any stamp board, I shall have to have a look and see what that it is, it looks fun! Enjoy your evening.
    Love Diane xx

  4. Hi Barb,
Never knew you could emboss the stamp board. Now that’s something I might just try tomorrow. Love what you have created today, you would never think that you can get so much from so little. I really enjoy using the stamp board, I’ve made 4 cards using different shapes and have been really pleased with the results. I made my consultant a card with a circle piece using a stamp from the original doodleology stamps and created a background. He was really delighted with it.

  5. Lovely. I do love making notelet sets. Missing all my paper craft stash which is having a rest in the storage container. On the plus side I just finished a crochet project that I’ve been working on for 2 years!

  6. Hi Barb, I love making notelets too, and this is just such a super project. The stencils are great, don’t have them or stamp board. Yet! Just wish the day job did not get in the way of crafting so much. I must be grateful that I have a job though. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx

  7. What a fab way of getting more cards for your money! I’m having a clear out of crafty items and found all my Clarity items which have been gathering dust for quite a while now but this has inspired me to get back to crafting with Clarity again. Slowly working through your blog posts of the last year or 2 and enjoying every minute.

  8. Realised as I got into bed last night that I hadn’t read the Clarity blogs for Monday. The notelets look fabulous, I love the effect of the oxide inks. Will give this ago as something different as a topper for notelets or slightly larger for a card.
The sun is shining again today after a very wet day yesterday so I am off to Moms to finish the gardening that I started on Sunday. Then tomorrow I plan to colour in all my Groovi toppers that I have done over the last few nights – better in the daylight than the electric light.
    Off to check out Claritymatters
