Ducks in a row…

Ducks in a row…

Hi there

Thanks for popping in. Hope you are enjoying this Bank Holiday Monday? When the building is empty it is a perfect opportunity to get some work done! Whilst Dave worked in one part of the factory, doing stuff he can’t do when the staff are in, Paul and I used the quiet space in the office to make a demo plan for the BIG Birthday Weekend on TV coming up. We’ve had a lot of help from our Groovi and Clarity friends, so much of the artwork is all ready to be served. Now we know what we’re doing, my mind is not racing quite so much!

I woke up with a washing machine head you see, as is so often the way in the lead up to a run of TV shows. Just going round n round n round in circles. But it will be fine. It always is. Just needed to establish a game plan, a schedule to work to. Get all my ducks in a row. Got that now.

Apart from anything else, we’re dealing with a few days of back to back shopping TV shows! That’s hardly anything to panic about really, is it?! Nobody is terminally ill. I mean, we aren’t trying to flee war-torn Syria, are we? There’s no out of control forest fire about to engulf our home. No, nothing like it. I need to get a little perspective on things, get grateful. Actually, very grateful. You know the expression ‘my mind is playing games again.’ That’s it. I just have to refuse to play, not join in. Ice cold.

Looking forward to starting a new colouring postcard project in the SHAC-Shack tomorrow. One bird at a time, one feather at a time. Luck number’s 3. A real exercise in shading. In fact, I think I may just lose myself in it for an hour or so now. Get my beady eye in… You know, get ahead of the game, being the bus driver and all that! I wonder if you can guess which postcard we are going to tackle tomorrow… Go on, have a think. Process of elimination. Put your guess below. Let’s see whether you call it.

Love and Hugs,

Barb xxx

PS It’s not the ducks !!

  1. I hope it’s one I still have as I’ve coloured in a lot of my postcards before we started in ShacShac! I would love to know how to colour the Toucans……..see ya tomorrow……. Beryl S

  2. One for sorrow 2 for joy.
    3 for a girl and 4 for a boy.
5 for silver 6 for gold 7 for a secret never to be told. 8 for a wish 9 for a kiss 10 for a bird you must not miss.
    MAGPIE!
Enjoy your shading and whatever you do will be absolutely fine. Xxx

  3. So looking at the clue of 3 and birds that are not too colourful, I think maybe the geese??? I love guessing but not really bothered as I just enjoy the process x My brain gets too full too, glad you’re feeling better and can enjoy your bank holiday xx

  4. Hi there, You have an incredibly heavy schedule coming up at the weekend. I read it and thought…. and breathe! Lol. I’ve had a look at the postcards and reckon there are three possibilities but I’m going to opt for the peacocks although the eagles would be amazing, too! I used to be indecisive. Now I just can’t make up my mind! Lol. You see, the geese were my third option! In for a penny….. The eagles with their beady eye is my choice!! Beautiful day here today – 22 degrees but there is also a nice breeze blowing. Hope you are in a good head space now that you are shading! Have a lovely relaxing evening if you can. Lots of love, Hxx

  5. The eagles or the geese but I think the eagles are more likely. Doesn’t matter, we will enjoy whichever you choose. Surprised you have time for any of it but very grateful.

  6. Hi Barb,
Sorry I haven’t been around lately but I’ve been a bit distracted thinking about operation and getting a bit chewed up thinking about Covid etc. Anyway, it will be over soon and I should be back to normal! I would like to think that you would colour in the eagles. Love and hugs,Alison xxx

    1. Hope all goes well Alison. You will be ok and we’ll cared for. I know I was anxious but seriously didn’t need to be. Xxxx

  7. Is it the blue tits? Barbara, you and Paul always look very calm and professional on t.v. Looking godward to the colouring and your birthday weekend. X

  8. I photocopied the eagles from the blue set I think it was, just in case!! I did wonder about the magpies but the eagles have no leaves or flowers, and as you said it was almost all in greys I thought the eagles fitted the bill best. magpies have blue in them!!

  9. Eagles please. Need to do more shadeing. Hope you enjoyed you’re sharing today. Cannot wait for the weekend birthday. See you in the Shack Shack tomorrow.

  10. Glad you now have your ducks in a row. This marathon 27th birthday weekend must have taken quite some organising.
You and Paul always come over very well on TV.
Whichever birds you decide to colour will be OK with me. I’m still following on YouTube at my own pace – really enjoying it.
    Stay safe.🍒🍒🍒

  11. Welllllll. ..you said tones of grey/black the other day so my guess wold be magpies. Hope the birthday celebration planning carries on going well and things come together for you. I’m sure with the Clarity team will pull it together as always. Xx

  12. Hope my arms will work in the morning, did a lot of cutting down and sawing today, I think we’ve shocked the sparrowS and upset Sally cat by taking away her bird-a-vision. Had to cut down the cotoneaster as it had got out of hand over the years, what a devil it is ! still a lot to chop up and finish off, not sure whether it’s coming out altogether or going to start it off again. Not sure which birds so will wait and see ! see you tomorrow x x

  13. Hi Barbara
Good to hear you’ve got a plan and hopefully the washing machine head will calm itself down again. I’m really far behind you with the colouring so I don’t know what you’ve done already. I know you will all have fun doing it and that’s the main thing.
    Love Diane xxx

  14. I think it’s the Pink shading of Flamingoes🤞 🦩🦩🦩or the
    3 perfect Peacocks. 🤞🦚🦚🦚
Love colouring with you Barbara, I find it so relaxing.

  15. Hello Barb, glad you and Paul got it all sorted. Must be difficult sometimes to plan far ahead and think of things that need doing while keeping a business afloat. Mmmm I think it may be the geese getting a run out. Enjoy it everyone. Take care and stay safe. Bx
