Bring on the Glitz with Blitz!

Bring on the Glitz with Blitz!

Hi there.

Haven’t played with a die for a while. Found this trap-the-scrap piece from one of our Fresh Cut Funky Foliage Leave & Trees Dies, and decided to turn it into a card for someone special. She likes a little bling, so here goes….

Trap the white card scrap from the die on a double-sided adhesive sheet.

Then simply cover it in Gilding flakes. We sell lots of different colours – really nice!

Use the yellow sponge to buff and clean off excess.

Trim, peel off the wax paper on the back, and mount on a white card blank. That simple. Pick a Barbie sticker which hits the spot – and you’re done!

The Funky Foliage Leaves & Trees Dies are pretty cool. There are two.

  1. Too hot to craft today, sweaty paws stick to everything and ruin parchment. Fortunately I have plenty of gilding flakes as I dropped an open box this morning – clearing up was fun !!!!! Expect I’ll be finding residue in unexpected nooks and crannies for days.
Look forward to your demo on using the glue with stamps.
    Stay safe 🍒🍒🍒

  2. This gilding card is beautiful and love playing with these.
Never used these with stamps so looking forward to a youtube from you.
Have a great weekend and enjoy your visit to your parents.
    Greetings, Trijntje Huppel

  3. Hi Barb, fabulous offers, however, I am totally spent out, on all the other bargains and things this last few weeks. Today I folded on Dee’s A4 stamps, on the Clarity site. I want to practise the lovely colouring we are doing on faces, an these stamps are really a lovely size, especially for my eyes, as I will be able to see what I am doing.
I didn’t think I would like the precise colouring side of the SHAC much, but I have surprised myself. I still love the drawing more, but they both go hand in hand.
You are a gem, Barbara Gray, and I love the way you seem to find such pleasure from everyone’s progress.

  4. I love the look of gilding flakes with the dies. I need to cut lots before I pack up my die cutter to keep me busy in my temporary home. Also have weeks of Shac shack to catch up on, so I won’t be bored!!!

  5. Hi Barb,
Love this card. The die is one of my favourites along with its companion. I also love the stamps and have used all of them loads of times. Brilliant offer on the gilding flakes but I’m very wary about using the flakes after I gilded the cat a couple of years ago!! I still do t think she’s forgiven me! Been so hot here today but have just had a stonker of a thunderstorm with very impressive lightening. Hopefully the air will be a bit fresher now. Love and hugs,Alison xxx

  6. Love the trap the scrap process to make 2 cards from one die cut, some work better than others but adding some bling or glitter makes some quick but pretty cards. I also like paper piecing with die cuts as well.
Have a good day with your parents tomorrow, I am sure the shepherds pie will go down well.

  7. Hi Barb, a really lovely example of how fabulous Gilding Flakes are. And the “trap the scrap” technique is a brilliant way to get two for one. Great offers, need to go take a look. Take care and stay safe everyone. Bx

  8. Hi Barbara this is a stunning card. I love a bit of bling. I ended up with a bad headache yesterday so nothing got done. I feel lots better now. Have a great weekend. Take care. Hugs xxx

  9. I seem to be a day behind…which just seems about right! Love the flakes, great colours. Now to keep an eye out for todays blog… 🙂 XX
