There’s no place like home…

There’s no place like home…

Hi there. A quick hi and bye from me this evening. Just got in from the NEC. Long day, but pleasant day. Met a lot of lovely peeps again. Our lads drove up from Kent, to help break the stand down quickly and efficiently this evening; Dave had planned ahead this year, got the van into pole position in the loading bay – and we were out withing 2 hours. Teamwork makes the dream work once again.

All in all, a very fruitful week in Birmingham, made all the sweeter by our formidable Clarity crew. It was much much busier than it has been the last couple of years, so that was great actually. There was a real buzz in the hall all 4 days.

And now it’s time to stop for the night.

May I leave you with a wonderful piece of musical poetry by Chris Smither? I stumbled upon it quite by chance, but he just stopped me in my tracks. Sometimes we just have to stop, and listen.

In fact, I would say he is worthy of at least a second listen here.

Love & Hugs always,

Barb xxx

  1. It was lovely to watch you demo today, you hadn’t got much voice left either so time for a much deserved rest. x

  2. Glad things went so well for you this year, both throughout the show and during the break down. Now, I hope you can give yourself time to recover. Sleep tight. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter)

  3. It was a busy show this year. Great to see you all and glad it all went well for you. As you say though always good to get home. X

  4. Hi Barb,
Glad to hear everything has gone well and that you’ve had a successful show ( don’t think that was ever in doubt!) Hope you can now take some time to relax and recharge those batteries. Great piece of music too – never heard of this man before but will look him up tomorrow. Love and hugs, Alison xxx

  5. It was lovely to see you at the show today. It’s the first time that I’ve been able to come for a few years and I was so pleased that you liked the ‘Twas the Night book which I made for my grandchildren. I guess you must have told Dave that it was a a woman with green hair who had done it because he stopped me and asked to have a look at it! Glad you got back home tonight and have a chance to have a rest,
( feet up and a cup of hot chocolate! ) xx. Patricia

  6. Glad the show went so well and that there were more people attending this year Barbara and hopefully you will be able to take a break for a day or two to recharge the batteries. x

  7. Hi Barbara. I didn’t get to the show this time sadly. Just couldn’t fit it in. I’ll have to try harder next year. I’d say have a good rest now but following your blog every day there isn’t much chance of that now is there! You enjoy what you do too much for that. Loved the music. I’ll look him up too.

  8. Glad you’re home safe, tired obviously but good to know lots of people came along. Time for as much of a re-charge as you can and well done the Clarity crew for driving up to help ‘break down’ for a quicker get away
…teamwork definitely does work! Sleep well x

  9. Hello Barb, glad to hear that you all made it home safely. Hope you manage to get some rest and down time over the next couple of days after a busy show at the NEC. Thanks for sharing this video, it is very good. Take care all. Bx

  10. Barb, thank you for sharing the music. Listened and then plugged in the headphones, eyes closed (love to focus hearing only) and can’t thank you enough! I have a very diverse music collection but acoustic guitar takes me to my happy place and features greatly in my listening. Can’t imagine life without music! Thank you. xx

  11. Had a fabulous time as always and kept returning to the clarity stand on numerous occasions. Very soon I will be able to have my own stand with my own clarity stash ! Even though it was day 4 and you were clearly ready for your own bed Barbara you were still pleasant helpful and friendly and your love of craft and your clarity customers shines through. The whole clarity team are so helpful and friendly whoever you talk to and take the time to help and answer questions with a smile on there face and by Sunday I am sure they will have been asked plenty. Enjoy your Monday doing whatever you want .x

  12. Glad you’re home safe and sound. John’s still snoring and I can’t find my headphones so I’ll listen to the poem later! Rest and restore yourself with a lovely autumnal walk xxx

  13. Missed you last night – assumed you were early to bed after such a hectic show so didn’t look at the blog after 10 pm. Hope you eventually got a good night’s sleep.
Glad all went well, team work definitely makes the dream work. Try to have some down time before you launch into the Pergamano show on tv.
Will listen to the music later.
    Hugs 🍒🍒🍒
