What Joy!

What Joy!

Hi there.

Thanks for popping in. Been totally engrossed in prep today, in readiness for our regular first-Sunday-of-the-month HOCHANDA TV slot on Sunday, 2-4pm. I am launching a new collection of Cherry Green designs – and WHAT A JOY THEY ARE TO USE!!! Let me show you the state of play at 6.30 pm…

Ahh!! I spy the low-tack tape! Been looking for that all day!! See it?

How I manage to create such a mess in the space of a day is a riddle to me! There is nowhere else to play now, except on the floor! I just can’t stop trying them out in different ways. Started the morning with Polychromos; thought we could have a little colouring session to warm up. Then I moved on to a masking technique, which is very handy. After that I got the Perga Colour pens out, which worked a treat – and then I remembered the Fusible Fibre! So. Pushed everything to the side, got the iron out, and got carried away with the butterfly.

Have still got the seahorse and the dragonfly to play with, and I know EXACTLY what I want to do with the seahorse! But I’m thinking they may have to wait till tomorrow morning. I need the Clarity fairies to pop in here tonight and blitz the place!

But let me show you the exquisite illustrations by Cherry, which we have converted into stamps AND Groovi for Sunday….

Going to have to move on to the Groovi prep tomorrow too. I just get so immersed in the stamping – especially when the stamps are right up my street, as are these – and the time flies by! But you see what I mean, don’t you?

Hang on – I’ll find a pic of one of the projects…

Best stop now, before I show you the lot!

The ODS this Sunday evening is set to be very popular, too. Remember last year we introduced the Picot dies? The nested Picot dies with the matching Groovi plates? And we had a Michael Caine moment, and blew the doors off? Many of you asked whether we could come up with picot flowers and leaves. Well, they’re here! And they’re really, really cool! What a time saver! Yes, I have a feeling you will like these!

Bye for now.

Love & Hugs,

Barb xxx

  1. Oh my those stamps are just beautiful! Can’t wait to see them and watch your demos. I think Sunday will be another very busy day so maybe after the Clarity fairies have cleaned your craft room they better get the machines fired up! Xx

  2. Looking forward to the show. I probably won’t be home in time for the show but it is all set to record! The stamps look great and I’m sure you’ll have lots of ideas that I can use for the stamps I won in the raffle which were also by Cherry. I’ve been sitting today practising the wee bird on a new piece of parchment. I haven’t abandoned the other one I did on Sunday but wanted to give it another go. I have put Josie’s ‘Charlotte’ border around it and just a wee bit of the branch with cherries. I have now photographed it because it is liable to go pear shape when I start with the scissors! Had a wee practise and it is not looking good for today! Not sure if I should attack it or not!! Lol. I have also still to ‘scratch’ the wee bird on the back but that should be ok. Looks like you had a great day today. Weatherwise, we have had a beautiful day. Even got my washing out and dried! Hope it’s good where you are.

      1. Hi there, I did. Thanks Margaret. I learned the hard way! Lol. I think it’s now passable but not perfect.

  3. Wow Barb those stamps look brilliant. My desk looks very much like yours today, except for the fact that I’m doing groovi, not stamping.xxx

  4. Hi Barb, sounds like you had an enjoyable work day, playing, erm, prepping for telly!!! I look forward to seeing, and learning from your demos. Hope the fairies tidy up that desk for you for tomorrow. If not, Groovi can be done on a lap tray, so you’re ok there!!! Hope you enjoy your evening, love you xxx

    1. Yay, retune your freeview everyone, Hochanda has just gone 24/7! That’s my falling asleep to telly sorted, now they’ve taken my Walton’s off. We can watch Barb’s 8pm show now too. I’m sure it will increase sales for Hochanda and their craft companies. Win, win all round. Thank you Hochanda.

  5. I do like these new stamps and goodness picot flowers as well. My poor bank balance. I always end up working in a tiny space then I have to have a grand clean up. xx

    1. If you noticed, I ended up on Sunday straying into Lynda Hidderley’s space, and still had only a tiny space left to work in. I reckon we need the comfort of being surrounded by our things. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter)

  6. Looks like being a cracking weekend. The stamps are beautiful and I look forward to seeing what you have done with them.
The new picot dies and Groovi flowers and leaves are very welcome. I have been drawing or punching, cutting and forming my own for years and these will save so much time.
Your craft desk made me smile 😀 – however do you produce such wonderful projects in that chaos. I think it must be the genius in you!!!
    Have a good evening.🍒🍒🍒

  7. Ohh Wow how gorgeous are these beauties
That butterfly is so so nice.
    Now. Stamp or Groovi. Mmmmm.
You know it’s going to have to be both and I need a bank loan for Sunday. Lol
Just when I thought it was safe to go back on the website after Leyburn you have sale items.
Aww well can’t take it with me. 🤗🤗🤗

  8. Drat, will (weather permitting) be bobbing up and down on the ferry to Ireland when the Sunday shows are on, so hope there will be enough stamps made to leave some for sale at the NEC!

  9. Wow beautiful think your right sounds like another big day Sunday very exciting cannot wait what a design team so much talent in clarity know hope fairies come tonight to clear up ready to play again sounds such fun would love to be there playing too night night xxx

  10. Looks like a fun day, judging by the creative ‘mess’. Will be watching on Sunday and look forward to the new picot dies etc. Hope the fairies do find their way to clear the decks for tomorrow xx

  11. Barbara, when the fairies have finished your tidying, please can you send them over here? I need to get rid of a lot of unwanted stuff (none of it is Clarity). Looking forward to this week’s shows. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter)

  12. Usually, for me, in a group of stamps or plates there is one that is just OK. Nothing wrong, but just not my personal taste. These are all fabulous, images that you can use over and over again. And they are available as Groovi too!

Can’t wait to see the shows. I’ll have to set an alarm on my phone so that I don’t forget.

  13. Oh dear these look fantastic & might just have to find a home here even if I did say I had enough for now after my spend up at Leyburn!!
Hope the fairies do their job overnight for you as we are waiting to see what Groovi prep you get done tomorrow x

  14. Hello Barb, wow what absolutely gorgeous stamps, my favourite has to be the seahorse. Love the little sneaky look at the projects for Sunday. Will have to record it, but certainly looking forward to it. Take care all. Bx

  15. Looking forward to Sunday show, inspiration and a giggle. Don’t know if it’s my end but on this Facebook blog I lose a lot of your writing under some of the photos. In this case it’s behind the two stamp photos. ?????xx

    1. I too lose writing behind pictures on my ancient I-pad and have to run up the main machine to see it all. So frustrating !!!
      🍒

  16. Just when I thought I might stop spending for a while! These look beautiful. Can’t wait to see more samples and your demos

  17. Hi Barb,
These are absolutely gorgeous. Love them all. I bought the beautiful hare on Saturday and had to stamp it when I got home on Sunday – truly stunning! I have a strong feeling that these might fall into my basket ( even though I’m bankrupt after Saturday) and the new dies look great too. Oh dear! I think I’ll have to get a job!
If it’s any consolation, my desk is always like that! I usually end up having to go to another bedroom to put my ‘project’ together!
    Love and hugs, Alison xx

  18. Very excited to see what you and the team do with these designs! I’m so glad not to be the only person that ends up crafting on a postage stamp sized bit of desk! X
