This time next week…

This time next week…

Hi there,

Thanks for popping in. Been looking ahead to this time next week. The 2-4 show on TV. So much to show you! So much to try out before then! But so much other stuff to do too!

Let me show you just one of the new stampsets today. A typical Barbie Step by step, using a pair of stamps I drew these myself. That’ll do for a Sunday afternoon! These are sooo versatile! This one is called Peace on Earth. All 3 stampsets are 2-way overlay baubles – the positive and the negative images.

Here’s a rough idea how it works. This was a colour tester…

Stamp the outline image in an Archival ink. Stamp’s mounted on a 4”x 4” Megamount – just to give you an idea of the size.

Brayer ink colour onto the second stamp, the infill. Tune in next Sunday on HOCHANDA 2-4pm to see the various inking options – there are plenty! Line up, which is easy, and plant the second image straight over the first one.

You can see here, that the snow and moon are actually on the second stamp. Or not, if you get my drift!

Now to add more dimension and depth. More ink placed with a sponge. The second stamp does all the work now.

You can build up the colour layer by layer, going back again and again, until you are happy.

Yep. That’s how they work. Very addictive too!

There are two more: Joy to the World and Happy Christmas. Have I got a favourite? Depends which one I am playing with! I was convinced I liked Happy Christmas with the Bunting and Snowman best – until I got this one out! And then, when I got the third one out, with the nativity and the little sheep, well, that one works particularly well with Distress Oxides! So no. I don’t have a favourite. They belong together, as a collection. Like a family. And each one has its own personality, and is better suited to a certain recipient. More will be revealed this time next week!

Love & Hugs,

Barb xxx

Oh. And they are being launched as groovi Plates too.

  1. Nice stamps! Looking forward to seeing lots of techniques next week. That is what I love about Hochanda. Beautiful sunny day again in Argyll today. Hope it is nice where you are. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Off to do some crafting! Work finished till Tuesday, I hope! Hx

  2. What a beautiful bauble. Now, do I choose one set or both? I really enjoy Groovin’ but stamping is so easy so it will probably be both !!! Look forward to the show next Sunday.
Went out this morning, weird 12 mile journey, drizzle, 🌧 then sunshine,🌞 pouring rain under a black cloud, ☔️more sunshine, 🌞 more drizzle, 🌧 in other words typical British weather defying this morning’s forecast. Hope it’s not too cold where you are.
    Hugs 🍒🍒🍒

  5. Hello Barb, what a superb idea, love this one in particular and your step by step really shows it off. Looking forward to the shows. Take care all. Bx

  6. Wow, these are gorgeous and perfect for quick Christmas cards! – I wasn’t going to make cards this year as I am avoiding Christmas by going away and ignoring all the work, after entertaining a huge family for 5 days on the trot for 36 years! – Didn’t want the pressure. BUT now I’ve seen these, I am changing my mind about making cards this year! – You seem to nail it everytime Barbara! X

  7. Bit late writing about this one, just trying to catch up on your blog. Look forward to Sunday, like the look of these, although I don’t think I am so good on stamps.
Not done any of the three way stamps, but always love to watch you demonstrating. Xxxx
