All depends how you look at things…

Hi there.

Thanks for popping in. Scurrying around here, changing horses, all set to head off to the NEC, Birmingham. Packing my demo kit here, and think I will stick to the plan: work around what we just did on telly – our new Christmas Baubles!

Here’s a little sample I made which is quick and simple, and quite fun, too:

How to: selection of Distress Oxide ink pads layered up on the second stamp in the Happy Christmas Set, spritzed with water and planted on a 5×5 white cardblank.

Topped with one of our Wee Folk Christmas stamp trees, stamped in Cornflower Blue Archival ink.

Wee Folk Christmas No. 8
Wee Folk Christmas No. 7

Dry-brushed round the edge with a Stencil brush

Hung with a Micron pen black hook

Done

There is so much scope and room for play with these little Wee Folk Stamps on and around the large bauble Stamps!

And there’s a great offer on these stampsets 1 Click here to investigate

Here’s an old Gelpress Stencil piece I did, using the kids and the same tree. Stamping is a pretty awesome artform, isn’t it.

Is the tree on the bauble, or the bauble on the tree? Are the kids decorating the tree? Or are they in the tree? It all depends how you look at a thing, doesn’t it.

There you are. If you aren’t going to the NEC this year, at least you’ll have an idea of what I’m up to – stock permitting!

Must dash!

See you on the other side xx

Love and hugs,

Barb xxx

  1. Have a fabulous show at the NEC. Can’t make it this year sadly but I know you will be fabulous as always. Remember to take a breather now and again and watch that neck and shoulder. 😘😘

  2. Have a good time at the NEC. Just watching your shows I recorded. The baubles are beautiful groovi and stamps. Loved the demos you are an inspiration Barbara Grey xxx

  3. Safe trip to the NEC and I am sure your stand is going to be one of the busiest. My grandaughter is looking forward to having a look this year, she understands the attraction now she is on the Groovi journey. xx

  4. My bauble order is due for delivery today – whoopee!!
Don’t forget to breathe while you are rushing around, and leave the nerves at home. You will do brilliantly at the NEC, just a shame we can’t be there. I would have loved 💓 to see the live demos.
The kids in the tree sample above may get copied as it is magical.
    Safe journey to the Birmingham.
    Hugs to all 🍒🍒🍒

  5. The bauble stamps didn’t stay on the wish list very long…
I couldn’t resist them so they are winging their way to me as I type…looking forward to playing. ☺

  6. Safe trip Oop norf . Went to NEC last year , lovely day out , took a while as went by train . Thoroughly enjoyed it though ,. Will get there again one day , spent my monthly craft allowance on bauble stamps and Linda’s book 😄😄

  7. Got my dispatch email for my baubles so looking forward to playing when they arrive. Have fun at the NEC, hope you don’t have any collapsing stands this year, or any visits from light fingered customers! Xx

  8. Saw this on FB so will post this here for everyone who doesn’t do it but is a member of tge stencil club.

Important notice to Stencil New Design Club Members. There is an error on step 4 of Octobers issue for my design. It says trim 7″off the acetate this should be 7cms. Massive apologies for this error. On step 8 it also says measure 7″ and this is correct.

Please pass on the message if you think there are people that won’t see the message here. Many thanks Dee xxx

  9. Love the baubles…awaiting the postie bringing my Groovi version (not being impatient, just stating fact lol!) so I now know how my Christmas cards are going to be themed for this year. Hope all goes well at the NEC and no dramas with travel. Been out today and saw an ambulance hurtling along with ‘blues/twos’ full belt always brings a chill to my bones as you just know it’s bad news for someone. Stay safe, the time taken doesn’t matter xx

  10. Another great piece. Safe journey to the NEC – hope the queue for you to get in isn’t as long as last time. Will see you on C1 on Friday – eticket has arrived & printed, shopping list started but items still being added – a birthday present to myself !!

  11. Hi Barb, love the bauble stamps, and your sample is great. Safe travels up to the NEC, and hope that everyone going enjoys the demos and goodies on offer. Take care all. Bx
