Colouring with Paper – YouTube Tuesday

Colouring with Paper – YouTube Tuesday

Hi everyone

Wowser! What has happened to the weather?

Today it feels as if winter has arrived. Very wet and very windy! This time last week it was a heatwave – crazy!

I hope the weather is behaving wherever you are!

Anyway, I digress. It has been a while since I filmed any YouTube videos, but a few weeks back I did 3 in one day.

You might think because I do a fair bit of live TV, doing a YouTube video would be a piece of cake. Well it’s not! When you are doing live TV shows, you have a presenter to bounce off, but when you are doing YouTube videos, it is just you and the cameras, oh and Simon & Jordan!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy our efforts this week…….

The technique I focus on this week, is not new but I think it works really well with several of our Fresh Cut dies. I call it “Colouring with Paper”, but it is also known as “Paper Piecing”. Barbara came up with a technique called “Trap the Scrap”, where you use all of the waste from the die to create a second project. You can find out all about it on our YouTube channel.

I really love theses particular designs – they are great for everyday cards and also perfect for Christmas – yes, I’m sorry, I have said the “C” word already!

As usual we have selected a couple of products from the tutorial and offer them to you at a discount for the week.

Tomorrow I can barely contain my excitement. I get to showcase your work on the blog. The response has been amazing. I have not had a look yet, but the guys tell me that we have had over 50 emails!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

  1. Hi Paul, thanks for the youtube, I’ve added it to my list, which I am working my way through, determined to catch up! Bad day here, hopefully tomorrow will be a better day, that’s all we can ask for. xx

  2. Well done Paul – very clear demo. I have to make a quick card for tomorrow so will try this technique. It might not be exactly the same die but it will work with any of the dies I think xx

  3. Must have missed the blog with the e mail to send our work into. Any chance you can let me know what it is please? Iā€™d love your opinion on my latest efforts.

  4. Weather in Norfolk all over the place, can’t make up it’s mind what to do. Still too warm but wet and windy too.
Been playing with the woodland groovi plates today, they are so versatile. Started to make autumn themed cards this week, then I really must start some
    Christmas specials.
Where has this month gone? The days seem to fly by, maybe it’s because I’m getting older, or maybe I just lose track of time when crafting.
Will watch youtube tomorrow, it is very relaxing watching you work.
    Have a good evening.šŸ’šŸ’šŸ’

  5. Great video, love the bird dies and as you say will be perfect for that event in December that I’m not mentioning! Can’t believe the difference in the weather, so windy, but at least we are not all melting. Xx

  6. Evening bloggy friends, been busy doing a bit of reorganising and sorting in the craft room. I am amazed how much I can get onto the shelves with careful stacking…must be growing up playing Tetris!! Xx

  7. Hi Paul, a great video, I love paper piecing, it is very therapeutic. Oh yes the C word, at the rate time is going, it will be here before we know it. Looking forward to seeing the pictures from the Clarity crafters out there. Take care all. Bx

  8. Loved the video, Paul! YouTube videos from Clarity are my favorite as they remain forever instead of disappearing after a few weeks. I really wish there were more showing the different plates and how to use them.
Also, when are we going to be able to buy from the new Clarity in New York? The shipping from England is killing me, LOL! (I had to put back half of my basket as the shipping was almost $25.00 USD!)
