Tied up with a bright yellow Bow….

Tied up with a bright yellow Bow….

Hi there.

Thanks for popping in. We’re all set for tomorrow now. It’s another busy TV day for Team Clarity! Lovely Linda Williams is kicking off the day with Pergamano at 8am, showcasing some fabulous new Groovi plates, which she designed herself. So she will be able to give us the grand tour of these plates, and show us how the bows and frills work ….

I reckon the Swiss Dot/texture plate will be invaluable. But I look forward to seeing what Linda does with it.

Here are some lovely samples from our talented team:

Years ago, when I was a young Mum, I wrote a little poem about a bright yellow bow. It struck me that we sometimes get so caught up in the maelstrom that is Life, that we forget to spend time with our kids. Let me find it for you…

THE CHILD’S REQUEST

What would you wish for a gift, my child?

What would you wish for a gift?

Your time in a box just for me, you know,

Tied up with a bright yellow bow.

With a book and a lap and an afternoon nap,

Tied up with a bright yellow bow.

And before you know it, they’re all grown up and left the nest…And now the poem could read : THE MOTHER’S REQUEST.

What would you like for a gift, dear Mum…

Time to call it a day.

Love & Hugs,

Barb xxx

  1. Looking forward to the shows tomorrow, seeing all the samples is always a great inspiration. Hope the journey up to the studio is a smooth one in the morning. XX

  2. Beautiful samples – we will need them to see how the bows go together ! Another dimension from talented Linda ! X

  3. Hi Barb, love your poem, very moving.

As was the D-Day commemorations today. All those brave, brave men and boys, sacrificing their lives for you and for me. I think, as a small thank you, we all need to make an extra effort to give to our fellow human beings in any way we can, Random Acts of kindness, even if it’s just a smile and a hello to brighten people’s days. And not just for today or tomorrow… Lets start to put this nation to rights, from the bottom up. There is mighty power in the many, lets make a start on making that positive, good power.

Looking forward to your shows tomorrow. Hope you get to put your feet up this evening, and can find some Mindfulness. Your kids are there in your heart, and soul, 24/7 with you. You can find them there when you are sorely missing them xxx

  4. I love your poem Barbara it has a mother’s yearning to stop time from moving so fast, and you are right it is just as poignant and relevant today, though not so sure about the book, the lap and the afternoon nap. I think my son would crush me somewhat and my lap would definitely not be big enough…lol. Have a good evening. x

  6. oh how very true that verse is for Mum’s today children grow up so very fast that when you have time to look around they’ve flown the nest but its lovely to see them when they come home no matter how old they are

  7. Looking forward to tomorrow’s shows.
Touching poem, you absolutely nailed the sentiment.
Harlequins are on my ‘to buy’
Received the flower plates today, they really are lovely. Wish the year was going slower so I’d have more time for crafting.
    Safe journey tomorrow.

  8. Oh Barbara, what are you doing to us? More beautiful plates now and I know that Christmas must be just around the corner!
The bows look amazing and, as you say, the Swiss dots and texture plate will be infinitely useful. I am out all day on Thursdays, so will watch later.
Like Brenda, I watched the D Day commemoration this morning. It was beautifully done and very moving. The courage of all those people and the amazing 90 odd years olds, who are still so articulate and can tell us what they experienced. Makes you sit back and think before having a moan. Have a good evening. Hugs. Annette X

  9. Evening Barbara. What a lovely poem! I think if I wrote a line it would be…
    My request
If I could have anything what would it be?
To go one more time to see my mum for tea!
And if not my mum, my grandad would do.
So many memories I have of you.
So what I request makes me say to you, make every day count and enjoy, please do.

Can’t wait to see Linda’s shows tomorrow and you and Paul later in the day.
    Love and hugs
    Xxxx

  10. Hi Barb,
What a lovely poem – you certainly have a way with words. Looking forward to the shows tomorrow , especially Linda’s to see what she does with her new plates. Love the texture plate. Been playing with the embroidery plates and have traced them all out and finished two of the. Really enjoyed doing the embroidery which was surprisingly easy. So pleased with the final cards. Hope you have a safe and peaceful journey up to Peterborough. Love snd hugs Alison xx
