Hi there,

Thanks for joining us on this glorious day in Wales. Fish n chips in Cardigan, some fab boutiques with Shona – bustling morning and lots of good energy.

Been having a rare afternoon here, a very quiet one. Far from the madding crowd.

You don’t realise how loud the traffic outside your garden is, until you sit in a garden where there is NO traffic, where there are NO cars anywhere remotely close. You don’t realise how noisy your garden until you remove yourself from the sound of engines and motors. No irritating neighbour firing up the hedge trimmer or the lawn mower or the leaf blower either. No neighbours, no cars. I am astounded by the absence of noise.

To lie in the shade of an old tree, to listen to the birds twittering, to hear the woodpecker hammering away somewhere in the distance. It is the first time in a long time that I can actually follow my own thoughts without interruption or disturbance.

There’s a lot to be said for a bit of peace and quiet – in the real sense. No wonder Mike and Shona are so laid back! If it weren’t such a hefty commute, I’d move here tomorrow!

But it’s here, it’s there, it’s everywhere. I just have to seek it out. Yesterday as we walked along the coastal path, we met a young barefoot girl walking with a guitar, who found her quiet spot , too.

I think I often take the traffic with me in my head. Maybe it’s time to find this nearer home. You understand me….

We’re going to a local dance tonight. I love dancing! Talk about sensor overload!
