Heaven on Earth.

Heaven on Earth.

Hi there,

Thanks for popping in. Just spent a day in heaven on Earth. Aka Pembrokeshire.

The sun was shining, the temperature was perfect for it – and we walked the coastal path here in West Wales with our dear friends Shona and Mike.

Over 18,000 steps, lots of hill climbing and steep valleys, but it was beautiful! This really is heaven on earth here. I have never been to Wales. Can you believe it? Been all over the world, but never been to Wales (except to a rugby game at Cardiff Arms Park to watch Wales Vs the All Blacks in the 70’s, but that was a drunken haze, so it doesn‘t count!) If you can’t remember it, then were you really there?

The gorse was bursting yellow and fragrant today,

We went to a place called The Witches Cauldron, near Newport. Climbed down into the bowels, into the Cave ….

We saw seals, oyster catchers and cormorants. Oh . And lots of sheep and baby lambs! We had good conversations, deep talk and plenty of laughter too. All in all, a day to remember.

What a wonderful place Wales is! It has been a while since I have felt so at one with the earth.

I hope you are celebrating Easter too.

Love and hugs

Barb xxxx

  6. I love Wales. We go up to Snowdonia national park when we are there. It’s good for the soul to get out in nature. Great weather too just right for walking. Enjoy your time away. Xx

  7. Evening bloggy friends, lovely day today, had a bit of garden time.
Managed to find all the Easter eggs on the website and got a few crafty projects closer to completion. Xx

  8. Looks lovely, it was a great day here too. We looked after our great-nephew, 16 months, for a few hours and he was good as gold. Once he left we spent the time in the garden, sitting, reading, pottering, lager with the neighbor and generally enjoying the day. Just found a Groovi plate I’d been looking for, I suddenly realized there was once place I hadn’t looked and there it was – not in a folder of course – the one I want never is. Now off to have a look for that last egg ! X

  9. Wales is lovely, well when the sun shines. We used to go every year for our holiday. We have been celebrating a family birthday today so lots of chat and cake of course. Enjoy your Easter break, going to have the weather for lots of walking.x

  11. Looks wonderful -so peaceful. I’ve spent some lovely holidays near Powys and my grandmother came from Merthyr Tidfil though I’ve not been there.
Still have one egg to find and have been right through everything twice (4 hours each time as I have slow internet) . Might just give up for tonight! Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Lovely to see Shona and Mike -he got me into encaustic art back in the 1990’s!

  12. Great to see you actually chilling out in a beautiful area. We used to take our caravan to a field at Marloes, overlooking the Dale Estuary. Beautiful views, beautiful walks and beautiful sailing on the estuary. Peace and quiet, with truly dark skies, showing us millions of stars. Heaven! And so good you are enjoying it all with friends. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter)

  13. Hi Barb,
You are in my favourite place. I adore Pembrokeshire. We spent 5 weeks just outside of Pembroke on a caravan site in St Petrox every year for 15 years. We have a lot of good friends there now who regard us as locals not tourists! Sadly we haven’t been for 6 years since we sold the caravan and were due to go last year and stay in a lovely hotel in Lamphey but storm Desmond got in the way! Beautiful beaches, fabulous golf courses, lovely people and lots of history – what more could you want? Hope you and Dave have a fabulous time with Shona and Mike. Pleased you’re taking some time off as well. Love and hugs Alison xx
Ps, I’ve found all of the eggs-yeah!

  14. Sounds like you had a lovely day. I had a day gardening and then fed a lamb tonight! My friend has three to be fed and also a calf! All good fun. Enjoy your weekend and a very happy Easter. Hx
