Step it up on Sunday!

Step it up on Sunday!

Hi there. Thanks for popping in. Just got in from a day out in London. A team of us went to the Top Drawer Trade Exhibition at Olympia. Stationery and Gift Show primarily. Velly intellesting…

Must have walked miles! What happened to Earl’s Court?! It’s gone. Disappeared. Flattened! Didn’t know they pulled it down! Blimey! I remember going to see The Spice Girls there, with Grace and Mark when they were little kids. Awesome!

Anyway. Back to the blog. As requested, here’s the step by step for the Grungy Die art yesterday:

Pick a piece of Design Card. This sheet is from Rainbow River.
Cut out the die from behind.
Use a brush to quickly spread Transfer Medium to both an A5 Canvas Board and the FRONT of the artwork. The Viva Decor stuff is ideal for this job.
Quickly press the artwork wet face down onto the wet canvas board.
On the jar of the Transfer medium it says leave to dry overnight. Not appenin. NAFC.
In fact, you can speed the drying process up a little too, with a heat gun.
Overnight. Whatever next?!
Use a sponge to wet the back well, and then gently start rubbing the back away with your finger and the sponge.
The bottom left area came away a bit radically, but it all helps the grungy messy effect!
Piece of cake. Seal with a layer of Matte sealant. Voila.

Don’t forget to tune in to HOCHANDA on Wednesday at 12 noon, to see what our Maria has got in store.

  1. Great, thank you. Its a lot easier when you see it done, I was putting in about 2 or 3 extra steps yesterday when I saw it. Love the grungy look of it especially on canvas. Glad you had a good day in London, although I think you might have had more fun visiting the queen. XX

  2. Evening bloggy friends, all is right with the world…well my little corner of it, as I managed to get a crafty project started. I needed a good sing song so on went the soundtrack to The Greatest Showman! Hope everyone has had a good weekend. XX

  3. Sounds a busy day but I’m sure interesting. Loving the grunge look must try this got all bits but never had a go my task for this week me thinks xxx

  4. Must get some transfer paste, have added it to my shopping list.
I did not know Earls Court had been demolished, when did that happen? Glad you enjoyed the trade show. Does this mean you will be coming up with more ideas to challenge us?
Both of us have picked up the dreaded winter lurgy, sore throats, coughs, headaches etc not conducive to crafting at all. 😩 First time in four years as we have usually managed to avoid the germs.
Never mind, tomorrow’s another day, and I’m determined to finish my project.
    Have a good evening.

  5. Hi Barbara
Thank you so much for the step by step. When I first started reading it I couldn’t understand why you were wasting a piece of designer card sticking it face down on a canvas board??
Then I kept reading and it all made amazing sense. Thank you for sharing your creativity.

  6. Hi Barb,
Hope you’ve had a good day and I was convinced you were picking up awards!! I had no idea that Earls Court had been demolished. Thanks for the step by steps- I would never ever have thought that was how you had created the artwork. I suppose it’s a case of easy when you know how. Love and hugs,Alison xxx

  7. Hi Barb, sounds like an interesting day out. Love the step by step. Must get some transfer medium. Take care all. Bx
