All gone!

All gone!

Hi there!

Thanks for popping in.

All gone. Every single one.

Weren’t here long.

But it’s okay.

I can make more…

WHAT ?!?!? She can make more?!?

Pots and things I’m talking about ! I gave them all away as gifts!

Ah…did you think I meant all the kids had gone again? No no no. They’re still here!

And as for making more – at my age? Be realistic!

But the pottery stash I was making for weeks – THAT HAS ALL GONE!!

I was able to go to the Clay Studio, to collect my little fresh-out-of-the-kiln stash of things I had made last Thursday, just in time to wrap and give away.

See my little collection down here at the front? Modest, but made with love and great joy.

See the pattern on the plates? Lace, that is.

Oh. And then there were the tiles! They were a great hit. I’m definitely going to make some more of those! Look!

I received several lovely handmade gifts from friends – and this year I got great pleasure out of giving little pots and saucers and tiles, too. I bloody LOVE pottery. And it’s not all about throwing pots on the wheel – it really isn’t. In fact, I think I want to make more tiles and more coil pots. I REALLY enjoyed those two processes. Can’t wait till classes begin again in January.

I really ought to be gearing up for the New Clarity Year. I know, I know. Just a couple more days of enjoying the family, and then I shall be straight back in the Groove – or should I say Groovi? My hand drawn flowers are coming along nicely. Maybe I will draw a few more letters this weekend. I enjoy that, too. What a GREAT way to make a living, eh? I do hope you will be joining us on the next step of our Clarity adventure in the new year…

Time to go chillax in front of a log fire with Dave and the kids.  Maybe watch a film. Any recommendations?

Love & Hugs,

Barb

  1. I will be watching The Greatest Showman when I get home from Mum and Dad’s. I recorded it on Christmas Day. You should come and try the Wedgwood Experience just down the road from us. I think you’d enjoy it. Plenty of pot banks to visit too.

    1. Hello Sarah, I must live not far from you, nice to see something about our pottery industry. Barbara’s plates were really good weren’t they. It always intrigues me how colours change when they are being fired. Best wishes for 2019

  2. Those pots and tiles look gorgeous! I bet all the recipients were over the moon! I know I would have been! Enjoy the time with the kids before they return. Can’t wait to see what you have developed for the new year!

  3. Ohh I do love your pottery creations very beautiful
You definitely have a talent for it
Enjoy your time with your family and forget Groovi And Clarity for the next few days give yourself me time
    Hugs xxxx

  4. Love the pottery, so classy and definitely has your touch. Who would have thought of using lace to create the pattern and then you have to apply the colours. I am pleased you are being able to spend time with the family. No recommendation for a film, sorry. xx

  5. Well done you! The results are fabulous, not that we would expect anything else. I am sure they will be treasured. If you can find it I would recommend ‘Bridges of Madison County’, lovely film xx

  6. Really love your makes Barbara. Bet the receivers were really pleased too. Love the lace ones, so unusual. You make the most of the time you have with your family before they go back. Enjoy your film tonight.xxx

  7. Great pots and plates ! I’m sure the recipients were honored to receive them, the lace effect was stunning and effective. As for films, this afternoon we watched Mrs. Caldicott’s cabbage war, now catching up with the Agatha Christie that was on last night, 2nd part tonight. Just had supper of cold cuts and bubble and squeak after a quiet day. I have started the 1st birthday card with the Groovi no.1 so that’s good. Will finish tomorrow. Enjoy the kids while they’re around x

  8. Your pots and tiles were beautiful, Barb. I am sure they will be really treasured by their recipients. How about making trays for next year with tiles on. Dave could create the trays to fit your lovely creations. My pottery experience was limited to one term at school and a couple of weeks at college, but I would love to have another go, although I am not sure my wrists are strong enough for using the wheel. As for what film to watch, that is my next job. Get a nice hot drink and refill my water bottle and settle down with a film. Not sure what as yet. Enjoy your evening. xxx Maggie. (Silvercrafter)

  9. I thought you meant the kids had all gone, until you mentioned making more, then I twigged! Your pottery is beautiful, especially the tiles, which I love.
My favourite movie over Christmas is The Holiday and I watch it every year. Whatever you watch, relax and enjoy the remaining time with your kids. Time just passes so quickly.
I am sure that there will be lots to look forward to from Clarity in the new year and can’t wait to see what you have in store for us.
    Hugs. Annette X

  10. Lol, make more kids!!!! 😂😂😂 What fabulous gifts to be able to give and what lucky recipients to have received something so personal and so special. Looking forward to those alphabet flowers – just when I promised myself not to spend on craft stuff – oh well, it’s only money!! Lol. Enjoy whatever film you choose – the new Jungle Book is brilliant by the way. 😁😁

  11. Love all your pottery … my late hubby was The Tileman in our little town. I would love to know was it stencils that you used to make the tile pattern ? Would like to try that and the lace also. Thinking about taking a class in the new year 🙂

  12. I really think we should be friends Barbara. Loving the pottery gifts. My Groovi parchment coasters went down well, but not a patch on your personal gifts.
My fave film is Amelie but we enjoyed Incredibles 2 yesterday.
Now I’m desperately avoiding eye contact with my niece & nephew who have brought their Nintendo Switch & want to play Mario kart. *keep looking at phone, keep looking at phone* while wrapping a towel over head 🙈 (if I can’t see them they can’t see me)

  13. Love all your pottery Barbara. You really are a talented lady! I would be over the moon to receive a gift like that. As to a film too watch, I agree with Annette, The Holiday is a good feel good film along with Love Actually. I watch both every Christmas. Enjoy your time with your family while you can. xx

  14. Wow love your tiles and the lace on the plates. I can understand why they were all hits with their lucky recipient. If you still feel like a Christmas movie you could watch ‘Scrooge’ with Albert Finney. If you want something else ‘The Greatest Showman’ with Hugh Grant is brilliant. Have fun xx

  15. Wonderful to receive gifts hand made with love and it is obvious they were. You are one talented lady. Before long you will have the pottery class using Clarity products for their own projects if they aren’t already.
Can’t recommend films as my taste is not for everyone – even hubby -ha ha !!!
Have a good evening with Dave and the kids.

  16. They looked amazing – and so did the pots!
Just watched Zog – great bit of lovely art. Jungle Book (the live version) was great too. But if your house is like ours, whatever you watch will be down to a majority vote. I look forward to hearing what you all settled on to watch!
    See you next year.
    Love
    Maggie (Yorkite)

  17. I am so glad you are enjoying the pottery so much. I really love the tiles. There are so many of your designs that would look perfect. Already, my brain is going into overdrive, thinking about starting a collection 😂 . I am a lucky girl as my nephew bought me Clarity vouchers for Christmas. So many things on my wish list to chose from!
Don’t forget to let me know when you are free to meet up xx

  18. Love the pottery. You can not beat a handmade gift. I received a lovely canvas painted by my friends little girl who are home from Denmark. It will take pride of place a loved always. Have a lovely time with the kids..time goes too quickly x

  19. I expect everyone enjoyed receiving your gorgeous pots. Well done they are fabulous. I would be so proud to have made those. Wonder what you will be making in the New Year. xx

  20. Hi Barbara
Thanks for spending time to blog every day. It has been lovely to hear about your family Christmas xxxxx I adore your pottery, you are such a talented lady. The recipients should consider themselves very lucky to receive such personal and lovingly made gifts.
As for film choices, I watched Love Actually yesterday for the umpteenth time and I never get tired of watching it. There are so many old films, but it might be nice to watch something new. Whatever you decide to watch, enjoy it with your family.
    Love & Hugs

  21. Your pottery pieces turned out fabulously Barbara, and whoever you gave them to will treasure them. You were made to be a potter! Enjoy the rest of the time you have with the kids, and hope you find a good film to watch. x

  22. Hello Barb, beautiful gifts, hand made with love. Hope you found a movie to watch. We watched The Christmas Chronicles after the fact, on Netflix and it was brilliant. Take care and enjoy the company of the family while they are here. Bx

  23. Stunning pottery pieces, beautiful gifts indeed.
We watched Mamma Mia 2 on Christmas day at my mum and dad’s great film and you can have a good ole sing-along too x

  24. Sunshine on Leith is on on the 28th, a good sing-along 🙂 I love the pots, all of them. The dipped pots are a beautiful choice of colours, I love the lace work and the coasters – well, enough said. Seasons greetings to you all, make the most of the family. Kate x

  25. I bloody love your pottery too, Barbara! What fantastic presents. I love those tiles. You make me want to go and take classes too. Will that be the next game changer at Clarity? Pottery classes?? 🙂 I hope you take as long as you like to enjoy your family time. You certainly deserve it.

We watched The Christmas Chronicles recently – and it was really enjoyable – just a feel-good, fun film, with kids in mind. I think Kurt Russell makes a great Santa – one of the best. Whatever you do, I wish you all a very happy and prosperous 2019!

By the way, I’ve just received my Clarity Club package (I’m in Spain; it takes a while to get here!) and it’s all beautiful – thank you! xxx

  26. Oh my goodness they are all beautiful Barbara – you are a real artist in so may ways. I am very envious of anyone who got any of these beautiful objects xx
