Saturday and all is well.

Saturday and all is well.

Hi there,
Thanks for popping in!
Well, this is the life I must say!
While the Clarity Crew slogged their socks off
up in Port Sunlight….
Barb and Mum took a drive around the orbital to Buckinghamshire and booked into a very pleasant little place in Waddesdon.
Modest gaff….
Actually, we’re in the converted stables next door, which are very nice too – wouldn’t want you thinking we are spending all the company’s hard earned cash. Not much anyway!
So poor old Dave, Heather, Paul, Sue, Rosie and Len had to make do with a bacon sarny,
while we enjoyed a rather posh afternoon tea,
clotted cream & scones, posh little sandwiches without the crusts – the works.
Sorry. Didn’t take photos of the food.
Forgot. Was too busy piling into it !!!
We’ve done a reccy of the place, and found our old house before we even found the hotel. I remembered it exactly. Knew the road and the turning before Mum could even blink.
The bridge, the brook, the playground – nothing has changed in
over 50 years! Blimey I’ll take you down Memory Lane tomorrow.
We must go now.
Dinner is served…
Love & Hugs
Barb and Mum

  1. Love the new gaff…even if only for a few days! Looks like the bacon butties went down a treat, see you all at Harrogate! Xx

  2. I had a bacon buttie today too. Was teaching parchment – Linda's Goosey Lucy! I bet Heather made cake for the gang at Port Sunlight, so they won't have felt too hard done by. Enjoy your treat x

  3. Hi Barbara
Oh what a hard choice, bacon sarnie or afternoon tea, I'm sure you all enjoyed your treats. The hotel looks very Grand, I hope you and mum are having a wonderful time.
    Love Diane xxx

  4. Hi Barb,
I looked this and your hotel up online and have to say both are fabulous. I'm hoping your Mum (& you of course) is having a lovely time travelling down memory lane. Pleased you found your old house. I remember just before my Mam passed away that she asked me to go and see if our old terrace had been demolished because she'd heard it had. Well ,I drove the three miles to see at 11.30 at night, only to find that she was right! Gosh, it was a very strange feeling that my old house and my grandma's next door ( in fact the whole terrace) were no longer there. About 7 streets had all gone! It took me a while to work out where I was! At least you didn't have that shock! Have a fabulous time – you both deserve it. Love and hugs Alison xxx
