Name that Fairy!

Name that Fairy!

Hi there!

Thanks for popping in.
Day 5 of the Crowborough Retreats,
and another wonderful group of Friends Reunited!
So I have exactly 20 minutes to blog before I go to join them all at the Spa Hotel.
Whilst cleaning the blending mat this morning after project 1,
I decided to make a bloggy background…
That’ll do very nicely, thunk I.
Perfect for showcasing those wonderful Fairy Stamps which are being launched on HOCHANDA TV tomorrow evening at 6pm
by lovely Rosie.
  • SKY 663 (24/7)
  •

  • FREEVIEW 85 (6AM-7PM)
  •

  • FREESAT 817 (24/7)
Just 2 will do for this little idea.

Very lovely, don’t you think? See the butterfly wings?

And how useful are the masks!?
Right down to the tiny toadstools.

Mmmm…. Dry blue brush required.
I didn’t even add ink – just used the dry blue brush.

Remove the masks for the magic.

Good enough to wrap around an A6 canvas board, methinks.

Stop the clock. 10 minutes.

Time to go eat with the others.
But in the meantime, let’s have a little blog candy, shall we?
NAME THESE FAIRIES.
Leave a message below, naming our two delightful little characters.
Then on Sunday, I shall randomly pick a winner.
And that winner shall receive the little canvas here –
and a £20 Clarity Gift Voucher.
Love & Hugs,
Barb

  1. The name of the Fairy? A Celtic name? Tiwa … That is the little cutie and naughty too .. but more cute than naughty 😀 I love to be able to buy ALL the fairies … really !!!

  2. Beautiful. How about Gert & Daisy for their names? I hope the Shrewsbury gang are behaving themselves & not giving you too much trouble Barbara!! Enjoy this evening xx

  3. Evening, what a lovely canvas. Liking the look of the new stamps will have to see how much I have left after a weekend in London. Off in about half an hour and then back on Monday. Watching more Para Athletics, both sessions on Saturday and Sunday. Super excited. I would call the fairies Flitter and Luna. XX

    1. I always thought this was the best day of the holiday, all that time in front of you, though I know you'll not leave all the work behind. Enjoy xx

    2. Yeah, happy dance Donna. Have a wonderful weekend. I went out with some of the teachers from my old school last night as a couple are leaving, they don't break up until Tuesday! Xxx

  4. My first thought was Adam and Eve, but others had the same thought (great minds think alike!!) How about Zoe and Leah, after my twin granddaughters?
I am back from hols and loving the new fairy plates. Can't wait for Rosie's shows this weekend. Love to all. X

  5. Back from a great retreat and now suffering from a bacterial infection in my leg. So glad it did not happen on the 2 days of retreat.
    Fairies – Apfel and Perri
Lots of love – have a good weekend

  8. I'm trying not to look at what anyone else has put as I know they will have come up with some lovely names. As soon as I saw the boy with the apple I thought they could be Adam and Eve but then nutty woman in me took over and thinks that Mork and Mindy will do nicely too Karen xx

  9. This is truly the inspiration I tune in for, thank you Barbara. A scrappy waste, that may have been destined for the bin in anyone else's hands, transforms to a beautiful work of art. My idea for the fairy names are Celeste and Topaz, which are associated with blue (I.e. sky and gem)

  10. Oh I do wish I could be with you all. Pippin is sitting on the toadstool-looks like a fun guy. Moonbeam is telling him her special recipe for apple crumble. Looking forward to Rossella on Hochanda.

  11. I think they should be Apple and Jack.
Lovely canvas Barbara. Wish I could have been at a retreat this year. Had to cancel last year, and this year we don't finish school till next Wednesday. Ho hum, maybe next year.

  12. Don't know where you found the time to do this blog today, but the workshop was fantastic and you even taught a non-patched to picot cut so you really must be a genius!!! I'm going for Cox and Pippin for the little fairies, and have saved all my mop ups from today to create art when I get home. Can't wait to get only and painty tomorrow, so sleep well. X

  13. Beautiful fairies, it was fairy stamps that started me crafting in the first place, then I saw you at the NEC and was hooked ha ha, and as they say the rest is history. That canvas would look great on my wall. How about Gemma and Chloe as their names.xx

  14. Rosiee and Paulee are my suggestions. I can't believe you did that in just 10 minutes, it's fabulous. The retreats sound like they're going well, I would love to be there. Enjoy your evening xx

  15. Tinkerbell on the right and Peter on the toadstool, but I am not sure of my own name tonight after a grand scenic tour of lanes and byways to avoid all the motorway problems everywhere today. I saw some beautiful parts of several counties, but I did draw the line at a gated road. Thank you and all the team for a really great time with so many new things to play with, and for putting so many of us together again for so much fun and laughter. xxx Maggie o

  16. Gorgeous canvas, you make it look so easy. Might have made my mind up to get the stamps. Think I must buy some canvases while they are in the sale. I bought a fairy door this week to make a fairy picture using the wee fairies.
As to the fairies names I narrowed it down to the names of two of my grandchildren, Lokryn and Ella, so I would call them Lokryn and Ella Bella xx

  17. Aha, we used to have fairy names where I used to work at the railway, mine was Gossamer Moonglimmer, my colleague was Mrs Coggins – two names for two fairies!
Have a good day – love
    Maggie (Yorkite)
PS is Grace fully recovered now?

  18. Hi Barbara
These fairies are beautiful, I'm not normally a fairy person but these are just so pretty and beautifully drawn I'm very tempted. What an amazing canvass and sooo simple, you wouldn't know it was just a scrap of paper would you. I might be tempted to put some sparkle on the wings if I was doing it but I wouldn't touch the masterpiece if I won it! Now for the names, how about Bert and Ernie, not very fairylike I know but it might make you laugh. Ok then moonbeam and sparkle, that's more delicate and not like a fairy elephant at all 😀. Enjoy day two of this retreat.
    Love Diane xxx

  19. Hello Barb, sounds like the retreats are going down a storm and everyone is enjoying the experience and meeting up with friends. Love these fairy stamps, you can never have too many fairies, and love your little bit of art. Hope you had a lovely meal. To name the fairies, because the one looks like a male, I think Patrick and Peaches. Take care all. Bx

  20. You did this in 10minutes after dealing with all of us for the whole day? Wow! I think you'll have to call them Blinking and Marvellous!
Thanks for the best 2 days of my year so far xx

  21. I name them Pookie ( on the toadstool) and Nixie. Yet another beautiful set of Groovi boards and stamps, cannot wait for mine to arrive and then I can name them all ! Keep up the good work dream team !! Inspirational TV demos.
