Less is more…Half-price Sale ends Midnight

Less is more…Half-price Sale ends Midnight

Hi there.
Thanks for popping in.
Just a very quick stamped card,
to demonstrate that less is more –
especially when you are running late, somebody is coming round at 7, and you’ve got exactly 15 minutes to write your blog from start to finish!! Added to which we are having a major clear out and sort out in this ’ere art room, and all my stash is in a pile, waiting to be filed nicely…
Confession time:
This tree stamp was at the top of the pile!

Ready, steady, go!!
Cut a strip of Designer Paper (which is 8″ x 8″ long)
Northern Lights.
Stamp a tree and a verse across it with black archival ink, and wrap it around a piece of Clarity Stencil card, which is 7″ x 7″ square.

Layer the white piece up on the back side of another piece of the same designer paper (8″ x 8″).
Trim it back and mount on an 8″ x 8″ Fold card.

Done.

It’s no masterpiece, but you get what I mean about less is more.
The tree comes from this set:
It’s in the Half-Price Member’s sale
if you fancy one more look before midnight…
Yikes!
That’s the door bell.
Gotta go!
Love & Hugs,
Barb

  1. Boy and I thought I'd been quick today. Love it. I actually used my first sheet of Northern Lights today as a backing for my twin sister's groovi birthday card. I hope she realises how extra special that makes it. Picot edge really benefitted from your lesson too. Thanks again for that.

  2. Very neat card ! I've just returned from the Clarity sale and my purchases also included a couple of non sale items……. oops ! Booked a cruise today as well so spending is my forte today. Have a good evening. Xx

  3. Oh Barbara!!! Thank you so much!!! I was wondering what I was going to do with all those bits and pieces of paper I'm collecting! Far too nice to throw away but wow! Makes s fab card!
    Enjoy your evening!
    Love and hugs xxx

  4. Really lovely and simple and yet effective. Catching up on the blogs as the internet has a wobbly for a week.
Hope you received the card for Dave and the letter for you.
    Much Love

  5. I often think that less is more on cards, so I really like this one! Might need to have an extra look at the sale, just incase I missed anything.
Enjoy your evening. I am laying on the couch catching up on TV as had a busy day with church holiday club this morning and an interview this afternoon to get verified for the job I will be starting in two weeks.

  6. Simple but beautifully done. I have needed your cleaning outfit today, it always amazes me how much stuff can be fitted onto shelves with clever stacking! When I cleared off one set it didn't look much different but when I looked at the pile heading to the local charity shop it took up half the room! I think I need to go back to crafting tomorrow. Xx

    1. Hi Donna,
Well done you – I was ironing for a couple of hours and then we hit the gym for another hour. Actually enjoyed the gym but I was shattered when we got home – so much so that I fell asleep, next thing I knew it was 4pm!!!love and hugs Alison xx

    1. Hi Pam ,
Was going to have a play with my sale goodies this afternoon but after the gym I fell asleep ( see Donna' s post) love and hugs Alison xxx

  7. Hi Barb,
Now I do like the clean and simple lines of this one. You've given me some inspiration as I've got loads of pieces of the backing papers. Guess what I might be doing tomorrow – after swimming and meeting friends for lunch – if I manage to stay awake long enough!!! Love and hugs Alison xx

    1. Hi bloggy friends,
Hoping everyone is ok especially those that have been missing for a while i.e. Morag, Dot and Brenda. Sending love and hugs to you all, Alison xx

  8. Hi Barbara
Isn't it great seeing what you can achieve with a simple strip of paper. Love how clean and simple this is and how striking the background paper is against the white card. I'm glad one of the paper pads fell into my basket, well 2 fell, only one made it to the end! Hope you had a lovely evening with your visitor
    Love Diane xxx

  9. Less is more definitely works with this Barbara. I love the pretty splash of colour with the strip and love the trees and sentiment, and the white space with the same paper behind makes the whole thing pop. Hope you had a good evening. x

  10. I love the clean lines of this Barbara and the design would be perfect for those hard to do men's cards. I am hoping that a couple of designer paper pads might be included with the light box I have requested for my birthday this month.
I must apologise for not commenting every day, but I always read your blog and really appreciate the time and effort you put into entertaining and educating all your followers. Thanks. Annette
