Day 1: A Pleasure

Day 1: A Pleasure

Hi there!
Thanks for popping in.
Just got in from the first day of the retreats, and can’t stop long –
we’re meeting for supper at the Spa Hotel.
I think it went down well.
I think the projects were well received.
I think the guests all had a good time.
Tell you what thought; it was more like Friends Reunited than a Craft Workshop! Nearly every single person who came through the door was a buddy, everybody had been before, and they mostly knew each other too! So much hugging and kissing!
The new venue is excellent;
the screen is like an imax

My set-up looks more like a DJ spot!
But it worked really well.

Inky morning, Groovi afternoon.
Blimming hot darn sarf too!
It’ll be fun to see how the paint reacts to the heat tomorrow….
Must dash (said the Mexican)
Love & Hugs,
Barb

PS. Don’t forget to go nominate us for a Craft Award or 10 if you get a chance, or feel we are worth it.
The door closes tomorrow, so we didn’t really get much time to rally the troops!

  1. It sure is hot. I spent over half the day working my way round the chairs on the patio, following the shade. Had a very relaxing day with sketch book and pencils, occasionally looking to see who was online. Did a bit more to the painting I started yesterday, but nearly had a disaster with the yellow paint which exploded out of the tube. Fortunately I had a good wad of kitchen roll in my now very yellow hand, so no damage to the room. I think it needed to go in the fridge with the acrylics! xxx Maggie

  2. Looks like everyone was watching closely, love the bigger screen just miffed I can't be there this time around – fingers crossed for next year. Looking forward to Leyburn, shopping list all ready and waiting (doubtless it'll grow further)! Been really hot up North too, hoping it's the same tomorrow as we fancy heading for the coast. Have fun xxx

  3. Wow it looks amazing, so wish I could have been there, maybe next year.
Didn't realise the nominations closed so soon, just been and done my bit for you xx

    1. Hi bloggy friends – hope that you are all as well as can be and have had some lovely weather too! It's been strange today – no tennis to watch! I did manage to get some washing & ironing done though. Love and hugs, Gilly xxx

    2. Hi Gilly,
It's been strange here today as well – we've had sun all day!! The only problem is it is too hot! We seem to go from chilly, windy and raining to really hot the next day and we don't get time to acclimatise!! Still it is lovely to see the sun. Love and hugs Alison xx

  4. Gutted we couldn't make it this year and missing you all 🙁 . Supposed to go to a wedding, but turns out daughter is undergoing surgery this week and we have to bring her back here from London to recuperate for 10 days. Have a great time everyone!

  5. Hi Barbara
What an amazing set up, hope everyone had fun. Isn't it good that it was more like a reunion than a workshop, friendly lot the Clarity bunch aren't they. Have fun tomorrow, can't wait to hear the paint story! Enjoy your evening. Already voted.
    Love Diane xxx

  6. Might need to dig out my holiday wardrobe if it's that hot – I thought it was boiling up here today and it was only 21C in the car!!! Already made my nominations yesterday, so best of luck with the awards x

  7. Hi Barb,
Wow, it looks fabulous. I'm sure everyone has had a brilliant time.
Already voted – I'm sure you'll do well.
    Love and hugs Alison xx

    1. Hi bloggy friends,
Hope you have had as good a day as possible. Been a beautiful day up here today ( but a little too hot for me). At least if it's hot tomorrow I'll be able to cool off in the pool! Love and hugs Alison xx

  8. Glad to hear everyone is enjoying themselves. We got back from a very damp and foggy Cornwell (Camelford) yesterday. We left it sunny of course. We don't have fog like that in Oxford even in the winter ! Just been and voted ! Can't say who for of course 😉 Xx
