Mum! It’s art! Honestly!

Mum! It’s art! Honestly!

Hi there!

Thanks for popping in.
The third day in Slovenia and a great success.
Full workshops and everybody happy to be in the Pergamano seat or doing Groovi.

Linda was in fine fettle,

The guests were soaking up all the techniques
and ideas.

Next to us there was something quite different going on.
Now you’ve all seen face painting at the mall,
when the kids queue up and get Spiderman or Ariel painted on their face,
and then it all drips onto their white T-Shirts when they start wingeing because you tell them they can’t have an ice-cream too.
Yep, been there.. Got the T-Shirt too!

Well, here was body painting at its absolute world-class best.
Ready?

She is wearing a bra and thong.
Everything else is painted on.

Wonder if it tickles….

Dad, if you’re reading this, I TOLD you art was enjoyable,
and you ought to have a go!

Linda and I said we might ask him to do us next.
Yikes!
Now THAT would pull a crowd.
Us two in our cor blimey knickers,
standing on a black box waiting patiently to be painted in the middle of a shopping mall.

The mind boggles!

BUT LOOK AT THIS WORK OF ART:

I mean, photoshop out the shopping trolley
and the group making cards in the background,
and this truly is aesthetically wonderful.

It helps that the young woman was exceptionally beautiful of course, but I reckon I could see our Linda strutting her stuff.
Maybe at the Crowborough Open Days.
She’s been saying she wanted to do something different….
Time to go.
Love & Hugs,
Barb

  1. Wow Barbara! Now that is different, and amazing! So pleased to hear that everything is going so well for you – another great set of memories for you both! Thank you for the insight into this country – it has been fantastic to share it with you both. Keep enjoying the moments and have a safe journey home – Gilly xxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends! I hope that you are all as well as can be and that your weather is better than ours at the moment. It has been really wet, dark and a bit miserable, we are told that it should clear up on Thursday! Staying close to the fire at the moment – love and hugs to you all Gilly xxx

  2. Stunning – I am always fascinated with people this talented. Like those 3d pavement artists – awesome talent. Glad your demos all went well. Xx

  3. Oh Barbara I nearly fell off my chair laughing reading your blog today!
So glad you're having a great time… Working yes but having a fabulous time too! It doesn't get much better than that!
    Have another fantastic day!
    Love and hugs xxx

  4. Looking forward to seeing Linda's new image. With my figure, the artist would have to be good at painting rolling hills with sagging air balloons flying above lol! Im glad that the workshops are being so well received. Think it's brilliant that you can combine crafting with a shopping trip too. Love and hugs Jeanette xxxx

  5. Think the artist would need a lot more paint for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aren't there some talented people in the world? Mind you it makes you wonder how he first got the idea!

  6. Will Linda be painted, or will she be the one painting willing customers? 😂😂. Hope today goes well, the more I think about it the stranger it seems to do art classes in the middle of people shopping. Can't imagine it in Blue Water, do you think its something you will ring back with you? Xx

  7. Afternoon bloggy friends, happy Sunday, hope everyone is well. Need to photograph my card from yesterday and think about my Groovi card for the challenge. Also need to start my Mum's card for next Sunday. Xx

    1. Hi Donna. You sound busy. I've just finished off the 5 cards we made with Maria yesterday. I never find time at the class to back them, draw the black border or actually put them on the cards. She has given me my mojo back with a vengeance though xx

  8. That put a smile in my face, on a miserable yet day. She looked beautiful. Another similar thing is wearing a wire netting dress covered in flowers. A florist friend of mine did one in the center of Bury a few years ago. That was also beautiful. . You seem to have had a great time. Safe journey Do wish I could find a workshop that I could get to. Xxxxx

  9. Well… he'd certainly need a much larger brush if he were to paint me!! She looks lovely but I wonder if she'll look like the incredible hulk's wife for a week or so when she tries to wash it off?
So glad it's going well. I hope you're not too tired xx

  10. Hello Barb,
You are having a fantastic time and I'd be up for a bit of body painting. Of course there'd be no thong or bra – no, I'd need a fully body Spanx!!!

  11. Hi Barbara
Blimey she's a brave girl but as you say she's young and beautiful with no wobbly bits! I think you and Linda would look equally good in your white M&S undies! Isn't he amazing, the painting is so 3D. You have met some talented people on your trip. Good to hear the ladies are enjoying your workshops. Have a lovely evening.

    1. Hello lovely blog friends, been busy today going round the garden centre getting ideas for the garden this year. We just need the warmer weather and a bit of time and several thousand pounds!!! Hope everyone is ok. Sending hugs xxx

  12. Hi Barb,
He's a very talented painter and she is very lovely. Somehow I don't think it would be such a good look on me!! I do hope it's not going to be compulsory at Leyburn!!! Your sessions seem to have been a success. Love and hugs Alison xxx

    1. Hi bloggy friends,
Hope today has been as good as possible for you all. Been a lazy day for me – the calm before the storm! Poor Scamp doesn't know what's happening in her house! It didn't help that I changed the lounge furniture around either! Love and hugs to you all, Alison xxx

  13. Body painting – there used to be a competition programme on the telly (called Skin Wars) – some of the artists were absolutely brilliant.

  14. Hi Barbara, sounds like you've had a ball, despite the mishaps. These things are sent to try us eh! And seems you passed with flying colours. Hopefully you'll come home feeling rested despite it being work you were away for. Don't be surprised if the next time you visit your parents, your mum is stood on the living room coffee table in her bra and pants and your dad has your stamps and fresco paints out painting her!!!! Love Brenda xx

  15. Hi Barb, that is certainly some talent, it does look pretty awesome when finished. I can just imagine your Dad chuckling away and Linda rolling her eyes. Take care. Bx
