Nice dress! And a Caption winner xx
Bonjour!
Thanks for popping in.
Somebody on Facebook was looking for the
Gelpress project I did on Telly last week,
It’s all about the sequence…
1. Attach the Elegant lady stencil to a piece of 7×7 Stencil card,
using low-tack tape as a hinge at the top.
Cover up her friend to the right with copy paper…
2. Place the Gelpress plate on its matching megamount. You can buy them together, at a lesser price.
3. Ink up the brayer with a light, neutral colour ink
and spread it over the 6×6 Gel plate . I used Blushing Rose, from the Artistry Set of 8 pocket size pads.
They are excellent
Flip the Gel Press Plate on the Megamount
and place on the stencil aperture.
Squish well, and lift. You have now made the lady pink.
She’s a Pink lady.
My fave!
Pick a darker colour ink now.
I went with Fine Wine from the same set of inks.
Again, dab on the plate and spread out with the brayer.
Lay the lace on the lady,
then place the inky Gelplate down on the lace,
but make sure the edge of the plate sits where you want the dress line to be. i.e not on her face!
We sell the lace
Squish well again.
When you lift the plate and the lace,
bingo!
Use a make up sponge to drag the ink from the stencil into the edge of the dress and to the back of her head.
Use a piece of copy paper and ink on a make up sponge to add pleats to her dress too.
Go easy – you can always add ink, but you can’t take it away!
Remove the stencil.
Now for the great reveal….
Voila!
You can use colouring pencils to add depth.
Greys are good.
Trim the art back and let’s make a border.
Cover up the lady with post-its.
Use the plate, lace and ink to create a lacey border.
Use a grey pencil to outline the inner edge.
Let’s take some paper from the brighton Rock Collection.
This fits perfectly.
Edge and mount.
Stamp Special Birthday vertically using the same Artistry ink pad, Fine Wine.
Done.
Remember last week, we had a caption competition?
I asked you to come up with what these two were saying to each other?
There were some hilarious ones! Thank you as always for joining in. Makes the blog fun to read, don’t you find?
But there can only be one winner….

Hi Barbara, very clever, you really do turn a flat outline stencilled shape into a 3d detailed piece of artwork. Amazing. Thank you for the step by step. I've got the lady club stencil, going to see if I can use these ideas to come up with something. Well add it to the ever lengthening crafty to do list…
Congratulations Bridget, enjoy spending your voucher.

I absolutely love this design! Such a subtle and beautiful outcome.
Just a quick note Barbara: I'm not sure if I just missed it, but I think you may have forgotten to pick a winner for the last limerick competition here on the blog (the one about the lad from Bantry sleeping in the pantry). I looked back through all the posts since that one, and can't see any announcement as to who won. I just wanted to let you know in case you had forgotten and still needed to pick someone for the prize!
Hope you have a lovely weekend :).

Morning Barb,
Really enjoyed this demo on tv so thank you for he step by steps. Love how you put the pleats in her dress, makes it's really pop. I forgot to say on a Friday that my ODS goodies arrived from Clarity Towers and then yesterday the Woodland animals and Treescape plates arrived with the excellent embossing mat. Wasn't expecting them to arrive so quickly, so that was brilliant. Excellent service from Clarity as ever, tank you so much. Had a quick play with the embossing mat and was very impressed with it. Love and hugs Alison xxx
